Another Christmas card ...

Afternoon Folks!

This is something of a first for me, 2 Christmas cards made before December!! I'm usually finishing the last ones off on Christmas Eve! Perhaps it's the snowy weather that inspired me to have another sort through my Christmas stash!! Today, I came across one of the first clear stamps I ever bought, this cute little Polar bear is from Spiral Whisper and is no longer available but I think there is a very similar digital version over at Pink Gem. I love the CAS look but I do find them quite difficult because there's no where to hide any mistakes lol!!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Winter Wonderland - Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Star
A Gem of a Challenge - make it cute
Ready Teddy Go - Anything goes (with a bear)
Crafts 4 Eternity - Cute as you like

Little Giraffe

Afternoon Folks!
I was lucky enough to win some digi's  from Pink Gem this week and as soon as this cute little giraffe arrived I wanted to colour her up. While colouring I thought how sweet this would be for a new baby girl card, so this afternoon I dumped the duster and finished off this card using the sketch over at A gem of a Challenge. My mojo wouldn't run to a freestyle arrangement as well as colouring and sorting out matching papers  :-) !!!!
I'm feeling quite proud of the end result, I've made quite a few masculine cards lately and it was nice to rummage through the embellishments and go a bit girly for a change!! I also used up some bits and pieces that I've had for ages. The paper is Chatterbox scrapbook walls which I bought in the January sales 3 years ago and the lace was a RAK from 2 years ago and the peach satin ribbon, underneath the lace to make it stand out a bit more, has been in my ribbon basket forever!!

Here's a closer look at the details. I do wish the light was better, IRL the colours are more of a soft peach and pale coral!

Thanks for looking today and for any comments you might leave, they are all special to me!!

Marvin Monkey

Hi Folks
Just wanted to show you the card I have made for my nephews birthday which is next weekend. I used Marvin on Vine from Pink Gem, because he likes monkeys and I thought it is a really fun image for a child's card. I stamped him 3 times and, as usual, I used Promarkers to colour him in, then I decoupaged up the image to give it some depth. I raided my stash for suitable papers : Grandpa's golf shirt by Reminisce, Fauna by Doodlebug and a sheet from the 6" x 6" Wild Asparagus collection by MME. The glittery number 7 is from a sheet of stickers by Craft Creatives which I picked up on a good B.O.G.O.F. offer the other week!! I'd like to enter Marvin into the following challenges:
A Gem of a challenge - Special Birthdays - I think all birthdays are 'important' when you are little, it is only as you get older you want to forget a few. I know that Matthew certainly thinks his birthday is special LOL!!
Create4fun - sketch week 18
SophistiCat challenge - #30 - card for a child
Oh Alice - card for a child (chapter 11)
Allsorts - challenge week 50 - Animals
Incy Wincy - Challenge 40 - Anything goes
and Pile it on - #17 Boyish colours - there's no pink on this!!!

At last!!

At last, I have managed to finish a card this week!! This is my entry for the first challenge over at Pink Gems new Blogspot . The original sketch was for ovals but in the absence of oval nesties (still on the shopping list!!) I decided to use circles on a rectangular card instead. The original sketch is:

I used Birthday Milly stamp from Pink Gem, coloured with promarkers and paper pieced dress (another first attempt!!), with doodlebug papers, flowers, gems and ribbons from stash. The sentiment sticker is from the new Honey & Hugs collection by Papermania. It is unusual for me to make such a girly pink card but I liked the change!!
I think this will also be suitable for the challenge over at magical crafts fortnightly challenge which has the theme 'Something for the Kids' so I am going to enter that one too...yes I know this blog hopping is addictive!!!
