isabel dammermann

a little selection of some of our favourite pieces from jeweller isabel dammermann. these stunning pieces are from her "treasuries" collection. isabel uses some unusual & beautiful materials for her work: found objects, silver, fake ivory, shibuishi, shells, fabric and even transparent paper.
we love the way her silver pieces look so raw and chalky and unpolished, like the two neck pieces and the two rings below. and we had never heard of shibuishi until seeing her work - an alloy of silver & copper that, in isabel's pieces, produce beautiful colours from blacks & greys to reds/pinks & browns.

1. rings, silver
2. pendant, silver, cotton
3. brooch, silver, shell
4. necklace, silver, ebony, leather
5. brooch, shibuishi, silver, found stone

billy bride

we spotted one of these beautiful rings on the man make home blog and had to investigate further. these stunning raw crystal rings are made by renee warne as part of her billy bride jewellery collection. all pieces are made in australia using indigene australian materials.

we think they are beautiful and we love the way she is passionate about keeping the stones so raw so as not to distract from their natural state.

there are more lovely rings on her website and do check out her blog too (details below).

lita - pyrite, energy & fire, boosts confidence & communication and overcomes indecision.
orin - smokey topaz, a divination stone, brings heightened awareness & clarity of mind.
ieke - clear quartz, a harmonizing stone, to amplify energy & thought.
issa - lapis lazuli, truth & protection, brings harmony & self knowledge, stimulates objectivity.

adele brereton

we really loved seeing Adele Brereton's jewellery & vessels at The Contemporary Craft Fair the other weekend. Beautiful organic shapes made from silver, wood, gold and oxidised silver & copper. Her collection includes rings, earrings, brooches, necklaces, bowls and vessels.

"My work is inspired by drawings made from nature, ancient artifacts or found objects, looking at shapes, materials and textures and translating these drawings into three dimensional ideas. Much of the designing takes place during the making process, developing and evolving as the pieces take shape".

stone & honey

well, even though the sun is glorious again today, I seem to have developed an awful cold. glenn managed to stop his last week by taking lots of echinacea but that doesn't seem to be working for me this time. I'm going to make some honey, lemon & ginger tea and hope for the best. hope you have all had a good week and haven't got a cold like me.

we came across this lovely jewellery the other day so thought we'd share it with you today. stone&honey is the latest venture from teresa robinson of smallthings studio. teresa is based in portland, oregon and has developed a beautiful collection combining agate, crystals and delicate metalwork. we really like the single point crystal rings - the clear quartz one with a little hint of rusty orange is my favourite. hope you enjoy looking at the rest of teresa's collection {info & website details below}.

maniamania

yesterday we wished for sunshine and today is beautifully sunny. we've opened all the windows in our barn so there's a lovely breeze going all through the house. make the most of today (if you are in devon at least) tomorrow looks like rain again.

speaking of wishes - I don't often see jewellery I like and I kind of like to keep it to a minimum, maybe one piece - but that one piece is usually bold and sculptural and big. so I'm a bit in love with the new collection from ManiaMania. Real Life Awaits Us is the first collection from them and consists of rings, cuffs, amulets, neck pieces and earings - oxidised brass, silver metal & raw crystals. and the pieces are big - you absolutely have to see them on the model on their website to appreciate the size really (website details below)

I've picked out 3 of my favourites from their online store (and I'm going to wish really hard).
