DIY home - cut wine bottles to trashion cups and glasses

I realized today it´s been a while since I´ve done a post on interior stuff. Craft had a story on Plastolux, a company that makes glass drinking cups from cut vine bottles. After a few searches on glass cutters and suitable methods, it does not look all that difficult to make (see video tutorial below)! I don't much care for the Absolut bottles made to cups (labels must be off) but those frost treated helvetica glasses and blanc olive green glasses look absolutely wonderful. In my home pretty much all table wear is bought secondhand as I love to mix different design styles. These drinking glasses would make a cool addition to it.

Etsy shops that sell recycled glass cups:
Plastolux
Sandman Glass Works
Bottlehood
Hanging Valley Art Glass

  1. sheer genius! We drink a LOT of wine, and I *never* thought about turning the leftover bottles into glasses. Or candle holders! nice, outi - thanks for the idea!

  2. I would love to try this! I would do it with the little Orangina bottles.
