Charity @ Christmas

The Good Samaritan

“Tis the season to be jolly”, this is a unique time of the year when many people of many cultures take time to celebrate holidays like the Winter Solstice, Christmas and to usher in the new year. These celebrations are celebrations of light and life and renewed beginnings, there are many joyous songs playing on the radio and street and homes are decorated with bright lights and cheer and many people seem to have an extra smile and kind words to share with strangers they meet. For many this is a season of peace and joy which seems to elevate the consciousness and spirit of the whole. For many this is their favourite time of the year!

But for some, this is a time of year which brings pain and sadness. For some this is a time when the pain of the loss of someone is highlighted or the pain and despair of loneliness and suffering are amplified. For some the celebrations are bitter sweet as they struggle with their homes, their lifestyles and the inability to celebrate these holidays in the fashion all others are accustomed to. There is pain beneath the absence of the wrapping of silver and gold, green and red and the blinking of multi-coloured lights.

Thus, this post is targetted at highlighting a special group of people that need our care and attention ........ the orphans. This is a re-post from last year with a wish to give you, my wonderful readers a wonderful chance again to awaken your senses to charity to the many less privileged groups that need our continuous support; Good Samaritan Home being highlighted due to the tireless efforts of a husband and wife team who are now facing financial hardship that needs our immediate attention.

Brief history of Good Samaritan Home. (GSH)

Founded in 1999 by Pastor Albert and YM Ong, GSH is a home that takes in orphans, abandoned children and also children from dysfunctional homes. Currently with children who ranges from babies to teenagers, the home seeks to provide from the childrens' physical, emotional and material needs via a group of caring volunteers who are tirelessly providing time and money towards ensuring the wellbeing of the children.

We appeal for your kindness to think of the underprivileged especially during this period of celebrations and to give the children an equal opportunity in life especially when it comes to the provision of basic needs such as food, a proper health care and education. GSH has been able to provide warmth and shelter but under stressful conditions due to the lack of space and the ever-rising cost of the basic necessities especially the food cost. For those of you who are not able to offer financial assistance, other forms of help eg. as volunteers will also be highly appreciated. Fyi, my cousin sister is currently volunteering free audit services of GSH's accounts to enable submission of audited accounts to the goverment which is a main criteria to be able to obtain government grants.

We are committed to helping them and invite you to join us. Your kindness can make a difference. Any form of charity is greatly appreciated; however small the contribution is. A friend recently asked me why being a Buddhist, I chose to help a Christian-support group. My reply was simple, compassion and loving kindness knows no boundaries. It will defeat our spiritual purpose if we choose to serve with biasness. Please remember that we can throw our little pebble of kindness into the water and still be confident that its ever-widening ripple will reach far and beyond.

Please think of the children not only this Christmas, but always. Buy less expensive gifts this Christmas and other festive seasons, pledge more to charity!

Kindly link and share this post with as many people as possible. Plagiarism is encouraged! ^_^

Thanking you in advance and blessings.

I really want to thank Dr Emu for saving my marriage. My wife really treated me badly and left home for almost 3 month this got me sick and confused. Then I told my friend about how my wife has changed towards me then she told me to contact Dr Emu that he will help me bring back my wife and change her back to a good woman. I never believed in all this but I gave it a try. Dr Emu casted a spell of return of love on her, and my wife came back home for forgiveness and today we are happy again. If you are going through any relationship stress or you want back your Ex or Divorce husband you can contact his whatsapp +2347012841542 or email emutemple@gmail.com
