Connor turns 4!!!

Turning 4 means Grandma and Grandpa has to take a trip to sunny Florida. I must say in the 4 years we've been traveling there, the weather was the best this time.

The family has moved to a new town, a new house, and a new neighborhood that is wonderful.

The association park is located about 7 house away. This is the coolest swing ever. The parent and the child swing together! I might have liked it even more that Logan?!?!?

The birthday boy climbed to the top of the mountain with a little help from Grandpa. As Logan runs away in the back ground.

One night we went to eat at Servando's . Connor  played with my ipad. I later found this picture he took of us.

Winter Garden has the biggest and best farmer's market I have ever been to.

There were row and rows of tents. I saw lots of food trucks too!  Wish our town would have  food truck!

Connor got to try his hand at hula hooping.

The is this great back drop for photographs. Guess we should have tried it later in the day. The sun was just way too bright.

The birthday theme was super heroes. Captain America is his favorite.

Publix's did a great job on the cake.

Doesn't everyone wear a helmet when playing the Go Fish game?  That game was a big hit. It came from his Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Lori in Missouri.

One day we went to the historical downtown area. Grandpa and Connor posed for a picture.

We found this train that you could make it move by touching a particular spot on the window.

Another day we took the Sunrail train to Winter Park.

At Winter Park we went for a boat ride.

Connor loved the ride, it took us by beautiful mansions.

Logan on the other hand wasn't so happy. He didn't like being in the life jacket which didn't look comfortable at all, not to mention that it was hot for him. The boat captain was a complete a--. Apparently he never had children, couldn't stand children, had no patients . . . and was down right rude. After we returned from the 3 hour ride (Insert the Gilligan's Islands theme song), the captain declared everyone would be receiving a refund or reissued tickets. When we returned home we wrong a complaint letter. In the end they did refund Sarah's money ;) We will not be recommending them to anyone.

The boys always enjoy the train ride.

I made Connor a super hero quilt for his bed. That night as I laid him down, he said "Grandma, I like my new quilt!  Melt my heart son!

His Mom and Dad gave him his first big boy bicycle.

I left you with our farewell front yard picture. It's always a must!

Until next time boys!  Miss you!

Connor Turns 2

First I must apologize for being so far behind.  Our trip to Florida, then Christmas, New Years, and life got in my blogging way.

We flew to Florida the first week of December. After all, Sarah and Connor both have birthdays that first week. Rusty has one 3 weeks later. So it was time to celebrate.

I appliqued a birthday shirt for Connor. He is a real CARS man!

Of course, his cake had to have cars too.

Grandpa and I gave him his first tricycle. He seemed to really like it right off the bat.

Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Lori gave him what appeared to be his favorite toy of his celebration.

The following Monday it was off to Disney World. Sadly, it was a heavy mist all day long. Did I mention all day?

Connor was a pretty good sport most of the time wearing his Mickey Mouse rain poncho. Here he and Grandpa are waiting in the long line for one of the rides.

The cars was his favorite ride. The rain didn't dampen his spirits. He cried every time we'd take him out. So Grandpa or Daddy would take him back again!

Connor meets Goofy, and from here it went down hill.

He was not happy to meet Donald . . .

. . or Mickey Mouse either.
We did, finally, after about 20 pictures to get one almost good picture.

On Tuesday we went to see Santa. That too did not go well. Had Connor known Santa was standing in behind him, there would have been more tears.

The rest of the week we chilled out at home. The little guy had plenty of new toys to play with. There were daily walks with Grandpa "outside".

It was our coldest trip ever to Florida. Coats were necessary almost every day. It gets harder every time to say good bye. This is our traditional front porch picture.

Our daughter had been nominated for an Emmy. She is a news producer for WFTV in Orlando

The day after we left our daughter and husband got all dressed up for the award ceremony. Aren't they adorable?  Even baby boy #2 is in the picture! She didn't get a statue, but still it is a great honor to be nominated.

That's Connor's birthday week.

It's been a busy summer

I am such a bad blogger!  (As pointed out by my daughter today.) Those of you who are friends with me on facebook have seen some of these pictures. Some days it's just much quicker and easier to post on FB and not blog. Do you feel that way too?

I want to stay blogging for the grandkids, someday they can go back and read my journal.

On to the present . . . the last week of July the blacksmith and I headed to Florida to see the youngest grandson. Oh yes we did go to see his parents too.

Connor loved his grandpa, he was always computing with him too.

One day we went to a local nursery that had a butterfly garden.

Someone was not impressed with the butterflies!

Keep in mind when you watch this video, Connor is only 19 months old. He can turn on any phone, I Pod, I Pad and flip through for his apps and play for hours.

I went to Target and found him his new life jacket. He instantly took to the water. The jacket is Puddle jumper brand.

Saturday morning we drove to Winter Park, Florida for farmers market. It was fun to see the different plants, fruits, and vegetables from what's offered in Missouri.

Grandpa and Connor got to do some train watching while we shopped.

Once again, Connor snuggles as close to Grandpa as possible to watch TV, probably Mickey Mouse.

One day we went to Mount Dora, Florida to visit with a blacksmith friend. Little did we know they live on a horse farm.
Here the blacksmiths show off their legs next to Kirk's pink Little Giant trip hammer.

The horse was not near as intimidating as those little butterflies were.

 Some days it rained!

Grandpa and Connor took lots of walks up and down the street, and up and down the street again, occasionally sitting down for a rest.

I thought I was going to get a picture for my refrigerator, but that didn't happen.

Once again, Grandpa has Connor! We can't wait to see you soon Connor, oh and your mom and dad too.
