Onion garden on the north, flowering. Clover and lavender largely on the south. Lettuces in mini-skirts in the raised bed.
I remember asking if there were green flowers, and getting evasive and bored answers. The green onion flowers look to be my answer, although they are also white among the green. And I remember being stymied by the "go look it up" response, since I didn't know HOW. Library books for kids didn't have indexes, and how would you look up "green flowers" in an encyclopedia?
Still wouldn't know how to look that up in the books I had available at the time.
Out with Moby, who got to chase a butterfly.

Fancy purple pompom flowers on those onions. And all the cheerful little leaves. I just learned the name of a wildflower/weed this week: Tears of Heaven. Cute little onion cousin but quite poisonous I was told.
Allium flowers, indeed they are fancy.
We had acquired a number of house plants before we got a house plant guide that had a very handy decision tree at the beginning. By answering a series of questions, like solid colour or variegated, or long stem or short stem, or tri-leaves or individuals, etc... eventually it led down to individual plants with photos that did a great job of helping us identify them. Once identified, the rest of the book had a page per plant to describe appropriate care. Once we knew the right light, soil, temperature, fertilizer, all of our plants made tremendous improvements.
Go Moby!
