Kid's Craft with Imaginisce

So I was going through my desk not long ago and unearthed a page I had torn out of a magazine over 3 years ago.  It was a cute and simple way to make a Job Chart.  I didn't need it back then because my kiddos were so little.  Which explains why it got lost in my desk!  But now the kids are getting to be around the age where they can handle a few job assignments.  Our house will be getting much busier in the coming months and a little organization won't hurt.  This project is super easy to make and can be fun for kids to do.

To start out, you need three basic supplies, all of which I just found around my house.

Bamboo Skewers, Straws and corrugated card board (I cut a lid off of a box).

To start:
1.  Cut the corrugated cardboard into 2 pieces.  The first measuring 7 1/2 in. long by 4 in. wide.  The second piece 7 1/2 in. long and 2 in. wide.
2.  Using approx. 8 bamboo skewers, slide the ends into the corrugated cardboard pieces.

  3.  Cut the straws into 8-1 inch pieces and cover the straws with washi tape.

4.  Slide the wash tape covered straw pieces onto the bamboo skewers that you have placed in the cardboard and then attached the smaller piece of cardboard to the other side.
5.  I used chipboard as the backing. The chipboard backing should measure that 12 in. wide by 7 1/2 in. tall.  Cover the chipboard with patterned paper before gluing all the pieces to it.
6. Glue the cardboard bamboo piece to the chipboard.

Once you have done that, than you can cover the cardboard pieces with patterned paper and embellish it to look all pretty :)  I used a combination of Imaginisce's Love You More, Childhood Memories and Good Dog Collections for the patterned paper.

Complete Supplies List:  Bamboo Skewers, Straws, Corrugated Cardboard, Chipboard, Imaginisce's Love You More Collection, Childhood Memories Collection, Good Dog Collection, May Arts Ribbon, I Rock and gems, Quickutz Alligator Font, White Cardstock, Xmas Red Stickles, White Ink, White Gel Pen.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my kids craft project!  Have fun with making your own!

Have a fabulous day!

Hop along with Imaginisce and Core'dinations

Welcome!  Today we are hopping along with Imaginisce and Core'dinations Design Teams to share some fabulous products and inspiration.  Join in fun, leave some comments and you'll be entered for a chance to win these fantastic prizes.

Here's a few simple things to follow:
(in order to be eligible for the prize)
1. Leave a comment on each designer's blog post & the company blog posts EACH day.
2.  LIKE the Imaginisce & Core'dinations Facebook pages.
3.  Follow the Imaginisce & Core'dinations blog.

As part of the blog hop I had the pleasure of working with Core'dinations cardstock and sanding  block.  This is such a great card stock to work with.

Selecting the dark blue card stock from the Core'dinations Dark Card stock pad worked well with the color scheme of Imaginisce's Childhood Memories Collection.

I tore the edges of the card stock to show off the core of the paper.  I also used the sanding block to sand the surface of the paper and use it for the title "at the park".  It's such a great technique and looks amazing!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the blog hop!

Hello everyone!  Hope everyone is having a really great summer and of course getting some scrappin' done!

With a new month, there is a new Sketch Challenge with Imaginisce.  Hope you can join in the fun!

Once again this month, there are no challenge rules, except of course that you must use Imaginisce products :)

And here is my interpretation of the sketch challenge:

I used Childhood Memories and Outdoor Adventure Collections.  So much color and fun!  Just captures the fun we were having at the park that day when my son was riding his big boy bike for the very first time!

Visit Imaginisceblog.com on how to enter the August Challenge contest.  Have fun with and good luck!

Hope you have a fabulous day!

Bubbling with Fun

Hello there!  I'm here today to share my Imaginisce summer project with all of you.  I thought it would be fun to put together something to take to the next BBQ or summer get together we are invited to.  Most people find themselves bringing a bottle of wine or something for the hostess.  Why not bring something fun for the kids to enjoy at the party…..like a bucket full of bubbles.  You can find these in the seasonal section of any store right now.   They come with the bottles of bubbles and tons of fun bubble wands!

Supplies:

Imaginisce Childhood Memories Collection, Bubble Bucket, Bubble Want, Imagi-cut Ribbon Cutter, Imaginisce Glue Gun, May Arts Ribbon, Ranger Glossy Accents, pop dots.

I took one of those buckets of bubble fun and altered it using the bubble theme paper and embellishments from the Childhood Memories Collection.  When making this project, I used one of my favorite Imaginisce tools, the Imagi-cut ribbon cutter.

This thing is amazing!  It cuts and seals the end of your ribbon for the perfect cut and no more FRAYING!

Hope you all having a great summer!

Celebrate Independence Day!

Independence Day is always a fun celebration time for my family.  Every year we are either at the beach or in the pool all day, barbecuing and then heading down to the beach after dark to watch the fireworks go off at the end of the pier.  It's really fun and can't wait to do it again this year!  Last year we were in the pool and here is a great photo of my husband and kiddos having a blast!

For the layout I wanted to focus on the traditional Independence day colors, Red, White & Blue.  I accented that with fun patterned paper from the Endless Summer collection that went with the pool theme of the photo.  For the embellishments, I altered one of the journaling stickers by adding the blue card stock to make a great background for the "July 4th" title and matted "Pool Party" in the same  blue card stock.  I also hand cut my own splash shapes from the card stock and added that beautiful sparkle with Stickles.  I popped the splashes of the page with foam tape.  Makes it look as though the water is splashing right off the page.  So fun!

Supplies:  Endless Summer Collection, Childhood Memories Collection, White Cardstock, Blue Cardstock, Blue, Diamond and Red Stickles, Blue and White Ink, Foam tape, White Gel Pen.

Hope everyone has a happy & safe holiday!
