My goal for the new year was to blog once a month and be more regular about it!  Hmmmm...it did not happen!  So it is a long post capturing the past 5 months!

January found us loving our home more and more.

February... well what is there to say except...be careful what you wish for!  For my birthday I wanted to lay back in my pajamas and be waited on all day!  I got what I asked for just not how. I awoke on my birthday with massive pain and we rushed to urgent care--I was diagnosed with a kidney stone...sent home to rest and drink loads of water!  I knew something was wrong when all I craved was water!  3 urgent and e.r rooms and a few weeks later I passed the stone!  Those buggers hurt!

March was a long month without too much happening except my oldest turning 16!!!

April was spring break and I took a little road trip and met up with my mom and dad in St. George!  Dad and I shopped, watched old westerns and played around with their new electronics.  My mom has a tablet and dad got a Nook! We had a blast!  Mom was there on business and in classes all day.  I went mostly for her awards dinner where she was presented with her Legal Institute award! SO proud of her and her achievements!

May came with my mom and dad heading to Europe!  Switzerland and biking through the Alps.A mini trip to Northern Italy and a few weeks home to Norway (Stavanger and Bergen of course)!  Of course they told me about all the yummy food they were eating...makes my mouth water! (pictures to come)

May 5th was my girlfriends bridal shower!  We went to a day spa!  Glen Ivy Hot Springs was pretty cool!  I even took a mud bath---it really grossed me out!  But it was a blast--we lounged in different pools and ate lunch there!  I am so excited for to have her wedding in Hawaii!  Congrats Sarah, I am so Happy for you! the picture is Sarah and Laura (the blond is Sarah)

May is also Norway's National Independence day!  What a better way to show off your heritage than to put on a National dress made by MY mom (the girls loved it and did not want to take them off)!!

May was really busy for school with state and district testing!  On the first day of testing my school went on lock down!  The picture is blurry but there are several more police cars out of the frame!  It ended up being a drug bust and resiting an arrest!  We did the lock down so quietly that my students did not even know and did a great job on their first day of testing!

November 2011!

Well lets see...I am only 4-5 months behind!  I decided to start now and update backwards:

This month we moved into our new house---which I LOVE!!!

The girls and I drove to Vegas to meet up with my mom and dad and Erik who helped us pick out a dog.  We have a new addition to our home.  Welcome Brutus!  We love him!

The girls and I had a few days off for the Thanksgiving break so wen went exploring.  We even saw a few matinees!  We had fun and enjoyed our Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving was great and we were all pretty much thankful for the same thing...family and friends!

August 2011....WARNING picture overload!

This summer was a full packed one! DD2 went to girls camp and had a blast. DD1 and I had late night snacks, she played video games we watched movies etc.

One week we house/pet sat for our friends! The girls loved hanging with Nev!
We also went on a 2 week vacation--our first ever!  It was loads of fun! We drove from SD to Southern Utah to I70 We watched an amazing lightening storm through Nevada.  We saw beautiful sites such as Veil Colorado.  We spent A LOT of time in the car.

We experienced the beautiful Rocky Mountains!
We saw LOADS of corn fields and I mean LOADS!!!
We stopped for snacks and to stretch our legs!
We continued on and eventually landed our destination at the Mall of America! It was cool! DH and DD loved the amusement park inside the mall and DD1 and DD2 loved shopping! As we drove we played money games (these games give htem the opportunity to win souvenier money). They ended up with quite the loot!

I found a cool scrapbooking store!

We took the girls to see the Missouri river and the Mighty Muddy Mississippi!
We drove through and experienced some amazing storms!  In Nevada we watched the skies light up with lightening...and as we drove through the midwest we drove through rain, wind and even some sleet!  It was ALL beautiful!

Then we drove to Mt Rushmore! Mt Rushmore is indescribable! Everyone must see it once in their life time to realize just how fantastic it is!
We stayed in the Black Hills and then drove to My parents in Northern Utah.
Again stopping to rest the girls played a bit!
We saw amazing rainbows!
There we went rafting and for the first time ever kayaking!

On the way home we stayed with Erik and DH and both DD's floated in inner tubes down the Provo river.  We ate ate fun places like Harley Davidson and Tuscanos.  We really enjoyed our trip!  See loads of pictures and a fun filled 2 weeks on the road!
