Christmas Card Challenge Week #40

Wow, Sunday already.

Another week has gone by, so quickly, that I can't find where it went. lol  As you read this, I'll be hanging out with two of my most favorite people, my sister and brother in law.  I have Monday off so they came up from Austin to spend the extended weekend with me.  We've done nothing but be bums, and eat shaved ice.  Talk about happy campers! lol

I have another Christmas card to share with you.  This weeks challenge is a color combo of chocolate, cream and cranberry.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I really like how this turned out.  The deep, rich colors, are fabulous together.  I also love the embossing on the patterned paper.  The text paper adds just the right touch to finish off my card.  I've added the following challenges into my card.

Last But Not Least Challenge #8 - Embossing
Speedy The Cat's Friends Challenge #71 - Bling
Twisted Sketches #75 - Sketch

I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend, and enjoy the extra day off, if you were fortunate enough to have it.  I'll be back soon with another card. :)

Hugs!

Twisted Sketches #61 - Congratulations

Hi everyone!

I'm late getting my card posted for this weeks Twisted Sketches challenge as I worked really late all week, and then realized that I had forgotten to create a card, when I tried to create this posting on Friday evening.  Then, yesterday, the weather didn't cooperate enough for me to get a decent photo.  Go figure, lol.  I'm sad to say that this is my last card as a Twisted Sister as my term on this DT has come to an end.  It has been one of my favorite teams, and I will miss it terribly.  Thanks to Anam and Kim who have done a wonderful job with the sketches, and managing all of us.

Anyway, below is the card I created for this weeks sketch challenge.  This weeks twist is: Summer - any how, any way.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

For the twist this week, I went with summer colors of blue (for the sky and water) and yellow (the sun).  I needed a wedding card for a friend, and their colors just happened to be yellow and pool blue.  How convenient! lol  I hope she likes it.  It's a bit CAS for me, but I like how it turned out.

I hope you'll head over to see what my Twisted Sisters have created for you.  They're always so inspiring!

Have a great day!

Twisted Sketches #59 - Friends

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to another Twisted Sketch challenge!  This weeks sketch is super, as usual, and the twist is: Friend - any how, any way.  For this weeks challenge, clck HERE.

I really love the colors!  I used Color Create #70, which was aqua, green, purple and white.  Talk about bold and bright!  Paired with this weeks awesome sketch, and some of my favorite Verve stamps, it's a win/win for me.  I know just who's going to get this card too. *wink*

I'm sure you'll be more than inspired by what my fellow designers have created using this weeks sketch.  Head over and check them out. :)

Have a wonderful day!

Twisted Sketches #57 - Happy Mother's Day

Hello my friends!

It's time for another Twisted Sketches card.  This weeks twist is: Shine - any how, any way.  For this weeks sketch challenge, click HERE.

I'm really digging how my card turned out.  I used this weeks Color Throwdown (#139) and think these colors are really great together.  For the "shine" part in my card, I die cut a transparent butterfly that I sandwiched between the twine bow and Prima flower.  It's very pretty in real life.

My fellow design team friends have created some amazing cards for your viewing pleasure today.  I do hope you'll head over to see what they've created.  Always so inspiring!

Have a wonderful day!

Twisted Sketches #55 - Mom

Hello my people! :)

I've missed being crafty, and visiting all of my "blog friends".  I'm happy to report that I am unpacked, and getting settled into the new place quite nicely.  I should be back to posting on a more consistent basis again.

I'm excited to bring you my Twisted Sketches card for today.  I absolutely love Anam's sketches.  The twist this week is: Green - any how, any way.  I'm sorry if the picture is a bit "different".  I'm still trying to find the best place to take my photos here.  For this weeks sketch, click HERE.

I'm in full Mother's Day card mode right now.  This year just about every person in my office asked for at least one Mother's Day card.  Talk about pressure, lol.  I love the pop of yellow my butterfly brings to this card and I love the papers.

So, that's it for me today.  Are you ready to be inspired some more?  Head over to the Twisted Sketches blog and check out what the other designers have created for you today.  As always, they're amazing!

Hugs!!

Twisted Sketches #51 - Social Butterfly

Hi ya'll!

This will be my only post for today.  Please visit the Unscripted Sketches blog to see what fabulous projects everyone has posted for you today.

I bring you this weeks Twisted Sketches card.  The twist this week is: Button - any how, any way.  I loved this sketch, and had a great time with my card, and butterflies, of course.  For this weeks sketch challenge, click HERE.

I remember in school, one of my teachers called me a social butterfly.  She said I would always speak to everyone, and knew no strangers.  That's still true to this day.  I love making new friends, and I'll speak to just about anyone.  When speaking to my daughter the other day, some of the stuff she said reminded me of how similar we are in personality.  She has now become my social butterfly.  She loves it when I sneak cards or little notes into her backpack to find unexpectedly, so this one will definitely be her next surprise.  The sketch was fabulous, and the sentiment goes perfectly with my favorite, butterflies.

Alright, ready to be inspired again?  I knew you were, so head on over to the Twisted Sketches blog to see what gorgeous cards are posted this week!

Have a great day!

Twisted Sketches #49 - Birthday Blessings

Hi everyone!

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend.  This is my second post for today.  For my Unscripted Sketches project, please scroll down.

This week we have another fabulous sketch from Anam for our Twisted Sketches cards.  This weeks twist is: Spring- Any how, any way.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I really struggled with this sketch.  Normally, I don't have an issue, but I think my mojo is slowly disappearing.  I used the colors green and light blue to represent the grass and sky as my take on the twist.  I also used nothing but scraps for this card, and am happy with the results.  I always struggle with masculine cards, but this one is kinda cool.  As a bit of added interest, I embossed each star with a different embossing folder, and I traced around my stars with my Sakura Stardust pen so that they sparkle.  I like it.

Alright, that's it for me today.  Are you ready to be inspired though?  Head over to the Twisted Sketches blog to see what the other talented ladies have created for you today.  So awesome!

Hugs!

Twisted Sketches #47 - Just Because

Hi everyone!

I'm back with my second post of the day.  For my Unscripted Sketches project, please scroll down.

So, have I mentioned that I am totally in love with Anam's sketches?  If not, well I am.  If so, I'm saying it again. lol  They're so versatile, and the twists are always fun.  This weeks twist is: Distress - any how, any way.  For this weeks sketch challenge, click HERE.

There's a lot going on with this card, but I like it.  For the distressing part, I used my Tim Holtz distresser, and I also used some Core'dinations embossed paper that I sanded a bit so you could see the pattern in it better.  I also inked the Nestie under my sentiment, while it was still in the die.  I love how that turned out.  Embossing my cardstock before cutting it with a Nestie is a look that I like more and more each time I do it.  I added some MFT rolled flowers made out of cork, bling, twine and a couple of leaves and I was done.  I think this one will be a go to layout for cards for me.  I really like it.

Ready to be inspired?  Go check out what my fellow DT members have created for you today.  My card doesn't even compare to some of them posted.  They're just gorgeous!

Hugs!!

Sketches4Cards

Hi ya'll!

I have some exciting news to share.  A while back Anam from Twisted Sketches approached me (and a few others) to see if we would be interested in creating a card using a sketch for her new iPhone/iPad/iTouch application called Sketches4Cards.  I was flattered that she thought I was creative enough to be included in this fantastic project.  You can click on the link above to read all about Sketches4Cards and Sketches2Scrapbook.  They're wonderful applications for any papercrafter!

Here is the card I created for the gallery.

I'm pretty excited to be a part of such a cool event.  I also have a layout in the Sketches2Scrapbook gallery, but can't find the photo on my laptop.  Boo!  I hope you'll head over to the website to check it out.

Have a great day!

Twisted Sketches #45 - Happy Birthday

Hi ya'll!

This is my second post for today.  Please scroll down for my US project.

This weeks Twisted Sketch is another fabulous sketch!  I love Anam's sketches.  The twist this week is: Two - Anyhow, any way.  For this weeks sketch challenge, click HERE.

This card didn't turn out anything like how I had it pictured in my head, and I'm glad. lol  I love the results.  I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot more butterflies, again, now that Spring is on it's way.  I love the textures on this card.  I wasn't sure they'd all work together, but they look pretty good.

Ready to be inspired by the other designers?  You should head over to the blog to see what gorgeous cards they have posted for you today!

Twisted Sketches #43 - Happy Birthday to You

Hi again!

This is my second post of the day.  Please scroll down for my Unscripted Sketches project.

I absolutely LOVED this weeks Twisted Sketch.  I knew immediately what I wanted to do with it, and when it was finished, I was totally happy.  This week the twist is: Bling - any how, any way.  For this weeks sketch challenge, click HERE.

Isn't it adorable?!  I used the Tim Holtz Hanging Sign die, modified a bit.  I tied the sentiment onto the sign with some bakers twine and then added some ivy vine and little prima flowers to decorate the actual sign hanger (can't remember the exact name of this piece) itself.  I'm SO excited that it looks exactly how I pictured it in my head.  I'm hoping the recipient of this card finds it as pretty as I do.

Please don't forget to check out what the other amazing designers have created for you today.  I cannot tell you how inspired I am to work with all of them. :)

Hugs!!

Twisted Sketches #41 - Life Happens

Hello again!  This is my second post for the day.  Please scroll down to see my Unscripted Sketches project for today.

I'm excited to bring you another Twisted Sketches card.  This weeks twist is: Ribbon - any how, any way.  I was really happy that we had the ribbon twist this week.  You can see why, below.  For this weeks sketch callenge, click HERE.

Isn't it beautiful?!  I have had this pleated ribbon sitting in my stash for months.  I didn't really know what I was going to do with it, but when the sketch and twist were given to us, I had a lightbulb moment.  I love this card!  The colors are classic, the ribbon is gorgeous, and the embossed strip of polka dot paper makes me happy.  I am seldom in love with anything I make, but this one goes on that list.  I hope the recipient of this card is as excited to receive it as I will be to give it to them.

I hope you'll head over to the Twisted Sketches blog to see what everyone else has created today.  As always, I'm beyond inspired by their work.

Hugs!

Twisted Sketches #39 - Wise Men

Merry Christmas everyone!

I hope that you and your families have a safe and happy holiday weekend.  As you're reading this, I'm spending the day with someone very special to me, and we're volunteering at a local shelter.  What better way to celebrate than to help others.

I have a new Twisted Sketches project for you today.  The sketch is fantastic, and the twist is: Faith - any how, any way.  Very fitting for today, if you ask me.  For this weeks sketch challenge, click HERE.

I really dig how this card turned out.  I went with non-traditional colors, again, and am happy with how they work together.  I hope you can see all of the details.  There are some of my favorite things on this card. :)

I hope you'll head over to the Twisted Sketches blog sometime this weekend to see what my friends have made for you.  They're wonderful!

Have a blessed day!

Twisted Sketches #37 - Ho Ho Ho

Yola!

Yep, I'm back again with my second post of the day.  For this weeks US project, please scroll down.

I have another Twisted Sketches card to share with you.  I love these sketches.  They allow for all kinds of interpretation.  The twist this week is: Shine - any way, any how.  For this weeks sketch challenge, click HERE.

For my "shine" part of the card, I used a transparent ornament with glitter, and glossy cardstock, although you can't really see how shiny everything is in the photo.  The sentiment and snowflakes are all glossy cardstock.  I'm actually quite pleased at how this turned out.  I completed one card, and then totally trashed it because it was terrible. lol  I really like this card though.  From the reindeer on the background paper to the cute twine bow on the ornament, it's fantastic.

I hope you'll head over to the Twisted Sketches blog to be inspired by everyone's cards today.  I can't tell you how amazing they all are!

Hugs!

Twisted Sketches #35

Hi ya'll!

This is my second post of the day.  Please scroll down for my US project.

I have another Twisted Sketches card to share with you today.  I love these sketches!  The twist is layer, any how, any way.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I've been using my Spanish sentiment stamps a lot lately.  Pensando en ti means thinking of you, by the way.  I have several co-workers who have requested cards, so I figured I'd start putting them to better use.  I love how this card turned out.  I wanted simple, but with several layers.  I think I accomplished it pretty well.

I hope you'll head over to the Twisted Sketches blog to see what everyone else has created for today.  Again, I'm totally blown away by how amazing these ladies are.

Have a wonderful weekend!
Steph
