The Time of Our Lives
So lately I've been so thankful for friends sharing their happy moments, frustrated moments, funny moments, and just all their moments. I love that technology has made it possible for me to keep in touch with friends and family that are close and far.
I love reading all of your blogs and feeling like....yes...I am normal..it must just be the "time of our lives". Which among many things includes....
Taking care of our other kids while being pregnant or with a brand new baby.
Cleaning up never ending messes.
Dealing with runny noses, sick kids, and doctors.
Lack of sleep.
Gaining baby weight and then trying to lose the baby weight.
Husbands who work a lot or travel.
Making dinners.
Diapers.
Potty training.
Fighting kids.
Disciplining kids.
Teaching kids.
Kids...kids...kids.
So thank you all for your blogs, posts, and status updates!! =)
While it seems really tiring and hard right now, I have a wonderful mom, mother-in-law and aunt the reminds me that this is one of the best times of my life. I am so thankful that I have kids and feel really blessed to have the experience of having kids. I am really glad that I have friends and family to share my experiences and their experiences with too. I really do love this time of my life, and I know that one day I will look back and miss these moments.
Here are some of the good ones that we have had this week.
For our family night activity I showed the kids how to hang upside down to make their chins look like a little person talking. I loved doing it as a kid and found out it is still pretty fun as an adult. =) I think they were a little weirded out at first. They kept pulling the shirt off my head to make sure it was really me. Then they just thought it was funny and wanted to try it.
Finally some normal warmer Texas weather. It was nice and sunny with temps in the 66 this week. We loved being outside and playing. It was time to wash the cobwebs off the Barbie car. Jacob thought he would drown, so he put on his life jacket. Just kidding! He was pretending the car was a boat in the ocean, so he put his life vest on. Crazy kid.
I love when babies start smiling. Madelyn has started smiling in response to us. I really like how easy it is to make a baby smile when they are happy. They just light up by a smile and saying hi to them. Madelyn really likes the phrase "a doodle, doodle, doodle". Go figure, but I like the simplicity of it.
One of my other favorite things to do is have play dates. I like being able to talk with friends while the kids are entertained by their friends. We had a fun play date in the park this week. I was planning on having everyone play baseball and soccer. But once the kids saw the skate park, it was all over. They ran up and down these things for two hours straight!
Here is the upcoming group of girls for next year's play dates. We were missing the two Lyman twins and two of my friends have two girls on the way. Cooper (one of the twins) is the only boy that I know in this group of girls. Watch out!!
