Express Yourself

Jacob has been letting me know how he feels about everything lately.  I really like when he says "I love it!", but his most recent expressions have been, "I'm so mad!!"  I picked him up from the gym childcare, and the first thing he said to me was, "I'm so mad!"  I never could get him to tell me why he was so mad, but the childcare lady said it was because she took the crayons away from him because he kept breaking them in half.  Sounds like Jacob. =)

Here's Jacob throwing a punch at the camera with his "so mad face."

I took a picture of Hannah playing with her princesses the other day, because it reminded me so much of her personality.  She had all of her princesses wearing battle helmets and motorcycle helmets.

It reminded me of her because for the last 2 months the only thing she has worn are dresses.  She loves to do ballet and pretend to be a princess.  But the next minute she will be requesting to watch "Iron Man", pretending to be a super hero, or requesting to play baseball.  If you look in her backpack, you will find princesses mixed with Jacob's cars and soldiers that she has heisted.

Spontaneous Moment

Last Monday (President's Day) I had a very liberating moment. I was working out at the gym and saw that the zoo happened to be free that day. We've been having great weather, and we love the zoo - so I decided that after I was done working out we would head straight over to the zoo. So that is what we did. (Before kids I really thrived on being spontaneous, but I've learned with kids - if you aren't prepared with everything they need it can be an unpleasant experience.)
What made my whole day was that I didn't plan it in advance. I didn't go home and pack up a bunch of bags of food, toys, and baby supplies. We just got up and went. It was so awesome to realize that my kids are at the age where I don't always have to pack up a big stroller, a million diapers, extra clothes, and a diaper bag.
I was a little nervous that maybe they would wander off with the hundreds of other people there, but they were so good and stayed right by me. It made my whole week to think that I was able to do a spontaneous day trip, and it turned out great!
Unfortunately the only camera I had was my cell phone. So hopefully I'll be able to get the pictures off soon and post them.
Here's to a moment of spontaneity!

Buzz Hair Cut or Regular?

So when it comes time to cut Jacob's hair, he holds still for about 5 minutes and then I hold him down with my legs and one arm while my other hand cuts his hair.  So this time I decided to buzz his hair, so that I won't have to cut his hair as soon.  (I also thought it would be easier, but it wasn't.)  I have to admit, that I'm usually a fan of the buzz cut - but I'm really missing Jacob's hair.  What do you think?  Buzz cut or regular??

We bought a swing set for the kids.  They have been loving it.  We have had great weather, and they have wanted to be on it all the time.
Jacob was all about helping Paul.  He wanted in on all the action.  He had all his tools out in the yard, pretending that he was helping fix just like daddy.  He even tried to help Paul do some digging.
He found it was much more effective, when dad was helping.  Hopefully he always likes to help and we'll have a good little worker.  =)
Hannah on the other hand, was more interested in swinging.  She likes to fly on her tummy and yell "Cannonball!!"
