Cherry Blossom Hello Card - Weekly SVG Project

I'm a little late getting this posted for this week, well not actually since I never said there was a specific day the SVG projects would post but I usually like to have them available by Monday so in my mind it's a little late.

For this weeks project we have a card, maybe that's a little obvious, but of course the cuts could be used for whatever project you want.

Supplies Used:

Make The Cut (for designing)
Cricut Design Space (for cutting)
Various Cardstock
Transparency Sheet
Mounting Foam
Stampin Up Regal Rose Ink

At first I thought about stamping a clock or something in the background but then I decided the cherry blossoms would probably cover them up so I just left the "wallpaper" alone and kept the focus on the blossoms.

I cut two of the window frames and glued the transparency sheet in between the frames and one frame probably would have been fine. I added mounting foam on the back of the frame and transparency sheet so it would give a 3D effect to the window.

I used Stampin Up Regal Rose ink to color the vellum and did this after cutting the flowers. To help shape the flowers I used my McGill Paper Blossom Tools, if you like making flowers these are a life saver and really aid in bringing flowers to life. I also used them on making the vein on the leaves down the center. With the leaves I needed to lightly mist with water but for the vellum no misting was necessary and it often curls quite a bit if misted. I used one of the small balls to add the veins in the cherry blossom and it probably wasn't necessary to do but I do like how it looks.

Hope you guys enjoy this one and someone uses it! And once again this file is only available though the Cricut Design Space Paper Crafting group and will be available for download until next week's file is posted.

AND PLEASE...IF YOU DOWNLOAD THE FILE PLEASE AT LEAST LEAVE A THANK YOU!

Lolliop Happy Birthday Card and How To Glue Small Pieces

This week for one of my Facebook groups I am posting  a birthday card it's a recreation from a card I did a few years ago. If you are a member of the group you know where to find the SVG file for download.

Supplies Used:

Make the Cut (for designing)
Cricut Design Space (for cutting)
Paper Studio Quatrefoil folder
Various Cardstock
Transparency Overlay Sheet
Teflon Mat (read below for information)

Back in 2014 I posted a card from the Stampin Up Sweets for the Sweet stamp set and I really liked that card. Even though I still have the stamp set I wanted to recreate that card and cut it with the Cricut Maker so I could test how the Maker cuts Transparency Overlay sheets. It is something I never cut with the Explore machines. I was pleasantly surprised how well the transparency cut!

The only issue with cutting this card was the mint paper and that was not the fault of the Cricut Maker but the cardstock. The cardstock fine sheen layer to it and it separated in a few places on the lettering when I was taking it off the mat but a dot of glue fixed any of those problems. The letters are a little less than a 1/16" thin and the Cricut Maker cut them beautifully!

Here is a close up of the lollipops and you can see the Cricut Maker cut those beautifully as well as the transparency overlay material that I used for the lollipop "packaging". The Art Glitter Glue is simply wonderful and I have started using it as my #1 go to glue. The big bottle is much cheaper in the long run and you can always pour some in a smaller bottle for easy handling. It doesn't seem to warp paper like many glues do and it doesn't leave a shiny film if you over glue. To glue the transparency on I added a small dot of glue on the lollipop stick right below the circle and then added a small dot at the top of the circle on a raised part of cardstock. On the pink candies I used Diamond Stickles on the swirl top layer and on the purple I used Starry Night Stickles on the pinwheel top layer. Oh I also added a couple of squirts of Glimmer Mist Pearl to the circle layer and the sentiment. I think the pearl is my favorite of all the Glimmer Mists and I tend to use it more than anything else, especially when shaping flowers.

**TIP OF THE DAY - GLUING SMALL PIECES TUTORIAL**

Now let's talk about gluing small pieces! There are so many fantastic things I would like to do but then I think "UGH!! I don't want to get glue everywhere!" and I will avoid a project or cut but while I was making this card I tried something *okie wonders if she might have tried this years ago but then forgot about it* for the small cuts. Instead of turning the cut upside down and applying glue I put a little Art Glitter Glue on a teflon sheet and then used my Tweezerbee's to dip the piece into the glue and let me tell you...GAME CHANGER!! I didn't have to worry about excess glue all over my cut and wiping off glue after I put my cut down.

I searched Amazon and found a 5 pack of 16" x 24" Teflon Sheets for $9.99. If you pick these up in a craft store you can pay that much for just one sheet. These are also larger than the sheets they sell for "heat press teflon sheets" and work wonderfully for that purpose as well. I know because I actually have this same pack that I found at a bargain store. The piece I used for making this card was what was left over from cutting a sheet down to use with my heat press. I keep this little piece in a drawer so it is handy for me to pull out when I need a non stick surface.

Peekaboo Card - File Available

I was perusing through Facebook and came across this really cute card on the Unity Stamps page and the post asked if anyone had tried the layout for the card, which I had not, but I sure wanted to try it! Of course I didn't have the die set or stamp set used so I had to come up with my own and used Make The Cut to design the file and then saved as an SVG and imported to Design Space for cutting.

Supplies Used:
Stampin Up - A Good Egg stamp set
Stampin Up - Delicate Dots paper
Stampin Up - Pale Plum Cardstock
Twine
ProMarkers
Mounting Foam

The stripe paper is cut at 2.75 x 2.75 inches if you want to cut that manually but it is in the file.

I curled the banner and glued on the left side, and middle so the banner would have a wavy look.

The chick image was stamped on the stripe paper, on white cardstock and colored with ProMarkers and then on the blue pattern paper. I cut out the chick from the white cardstock after coloring and also the blue egg. The chick was then pop dotted over the image I stamped on the stripe paper. I used Nuvo Crystal drops on the eyes and then to dot on the blue egg.

It would be easy to use this card with a stamp or a cut out image and add a different sentiment. I really like how the openness of the top layer of cardstock shows off the beauty of the paper and I will probably use this again for a different card.

This file is being offered for free. If you download for use please leave a comment of acknowledgement. Remember if you are importing to Design Space you will need to resize the image, instructions are in the file (don't cut those) for resizing.

Fun Stampers Journey - Dahlia Burst

I am really liking the Fun Stampers Journey stamps and I think they are just as good as the Stampin Up stamps I have and actually they run a little cheaper. They do have some great stamp and die sets.

There are certain themes I am addicted to and flowers are some of my favorite stamps so when I saw this Dahlia Burst Stamp Bundle I knew I had to have it! Of course the coloring options are endless with this flower and I am still wanting to do some in reds...red is my favorite color after all!

Supplies Used:

Various Cardstock
Graphic45 Time To Celebrate
ProMarkers
Stampin Up (sentiment)
Embossing folder
Square Punch

For the sentiment banner I cut a strip of paper and then used a square punch to make the tail of the banner, a trick I use pretty often for banners on cards. The sentiment is from Stampin Up. I lightly bent the banner and then glued at the straight edge under the flower and then added some glue in the middle of the banner so the wave of the banner would maintain it's shape.

I think the Dahlia Burst Stamp and Die set has endless possibilities and I am wanting to make some sympathy cards with it for my card stash.

Heartfelt Creations Botanical Rose Card

So remember the banner I posted? I had some pieces that I had cut that were too small for a banner and I didn't want them to go to waste so what do I do? I MAKE CARDS WITH THEM!

I used the Heartfelt Creations Botanical Rose stamped and cut images as the focal point and for the background I used the Chicken wire embossing folder to make it look like they were kinda poking through a fence.

So this card could be used for a variety of occasions I didn't do a sentiment on the outside or inside. This way I can stamp something on the inside when I use it or just write a quick note.

I colored the flowers with Promarkers and spritzed with glimmer mist when I got ready to shape the petals because I'm as addicted to shimmer as a rock star is addicted to cocaine *okie thinks she needs to stop typing up blog posts when it's late because there is no telling what words will be pecked out of her keyboard*. I dotted some glue on the middle of the flower and added some flock.  Oh and on the banner I added dots with a white gel pen and it made a big difference on how it looked.

Memory Box Park Bench Card

This was the least favorite of of the die cards I have made so far and not really sure why I don't care for it, maybe it is because the bench is too big for the card or, the papers I chose just don't seem right.

Supplies Used:

Memory Box Dies -
Madison Park Bench, Estate Fence,Wildflower Patch
   Tall Birch, Butterfly Sprinkles
Stampin Up -
   Flamingo Lingo sentiment and die
Various cardstock and patterned paper

Let me tell ya that dang fence was a B I T C H to glue because of the fine detail and again I was glad I had my Fineline Glue Applicator to use and even then I got glue all over my fingers and the cardstock and afterwards I was glad I used it. The leaves on the trees are actually from a die I can't find the name of yet *okie thinks she needs to start that search again* but I did cut the leaves away from the branch to use with the birch tree.

I used some Colorbox Chalk Ink in Chestnut Roan *okie thinks that has to be her all time favorite ink to use for shading* and went over the bench seat lightly to give the bench a more wooden look.

I have two more die cards I will be posting and then I'll be moving on to something else. The next two cards I really liked!

MFT Homespun Birdhouse Card

It took me awhile to find the name of this die set because I kept searching in Memory Box but when I shortened my search to bird house die I was able to find the name!

I'm trying to make more generic type cards such as thinking of you and such so the cards can be used for any occasion and I thought this sentiment fit the card rather well.

Supplies used:

MFT Homespun Birdhouse die set
Memory Box Dies
  Tender Leaves & Grove Branch
Cuttlebug folders
Distressed Stripes, Birds & Swirls, Swiss Dots
Stampin Up Punches -
Word Window, Modern Label, Itty Bitty Flower
Stampin Up sentiment
Viva Decor Pen - dark brown
K & Co paper

When I thought the card was done I felt like it was missing something and that is when I added the little punched flowers, made from something similar to vellum, and dotted centers with the Viva Decor Pen it seemed to be what the card  needed. I'm always amazed at what adding just a little extra can do!

Memory Box Chloe Butterfly Card

First of all, Happy Mother's Day to all out there and I hope you have a wonderful day! The kids are taking me to a movie of my choice, which happens to be Guardians of the Galaxy 2 *okie wonders if anyone can get enough of baby Groot*, this afternoon and Chuck is going to come mow my yard for me. Yesterday Shiane helped me with starting to make flowerbeds around my deck and getting an area ready in the back yard for my outdoor fireplace. I feel very blessed to have this time with the kids and it makes my heart happy!

Now about the card....

I have quite a few butterfly stamps and a few butterfly punches and dies from Stampin Up that I have acquired over the years and I love every one of them. When I opened one of the bags of dies my friend sent me I immediately was drawn to this butterfly die and couldn't wait to use it.

I wanted to make a fairly simple card just to see how well the butterfly worked but also to challenge myself to just use a few elements and not go overboard with papers and design. I had made a few other cards using dies before this one and they were rather labor intensive. I was surprised that I was pleased with the card when it was finished and also how fast I was able to complete six of these...ya'll know good and well I don't make just one!

Recently I actually thought about cutting back to making only 4 of a card but then my friend Carmen reminded me rather quickly that I wouldn't have enough for myself since I have to send her two of every card I make, it's the price I pay for her personal crafting shopper services since she has a more sources available to her than I have here in this lil' ol' town.

Supplies Used:

-Memory Box Chloe Butterfly die
-Memory Box Valerian Flourish die
-K & Co patterned paper
-Various Cardstock
-Stampin Up sentiment stamp

I am certainly glad I had the Fineline Glue Applicator working with these delicate dies, and even then I had glue all over my fingers but I know a lot less than I would have with just using my regular bottle of Scotch Quick Dry glue. I have the Fineline Glue Applicator Standard Tip and the Fineline Glue Applicator Standard Tip and they sure are some handy little things and I highly recommend them!

CTMH Flower Market - Bee Happy Card

This will be my last Flower Market project I post for a little while because I have some other things that I need to get busy on but I know I will be using this cart quite a bit in the future.

I have made cards in the past with bee's on them and I always love making those type of cards *okie thinks it rather odd that she makes cards with bee's and not ladybug's since ladybug's should be the obvious choice* so when I saw the bee and honeycomb on the cartridge I knew I was gonna be hittin' those images up. I was pleased with how this card turned out and I didn't even ink any edges. I think with the bright colors of the patterned paper inking just wasn't necessary. Some folks might recognize the paper but for those who don't it's Graphic 45 Bohemian Bazaar.

The little bee didn't have any wings so I had to make some. Well I guess he had wings but just the outline and line down the middle. I had to use the contour feature to hide the parts that I didn't want on the wings that I cut out of the transparency paper and I like how it turned out. I used some yellow mica paper for the body of the bee and the just some black cardstock for the top layer.

Sorry for such a short post but I'm low on time today.

CTMH Flower Market - Bike Card

I wish I would have had access to this nice little bicycle years ago when I did a LAYOUT of my mom and dad back in 2009 but back in those days *okie thinks that sounds funny saying back in those days since it was only 7 years ago* but I did not and I had to make a bicycle out of what was available to me and that meant using the George cartridge and it's basic shapes to design a bicycle.

Fast forward to today and this great bicycle cut can be found on the CTMH FLOWER MARKET cartridge and I couldn't wait to cut it once I saw it. The problem was that I had to think of something to use it for and obviously a card was the choice I made.

I cut the bicycle a little bigger than I had intended and that is due to me...yep, you guessed it - still not use to using Design Space for figuring out what I want to cut *okie isn't sure she will ever get use to the program*

I really should have cut the little flowers a different color but when I did cut them I didn't know I would be using orange for the mat of the card. The darker flowers were a lighter orange and it just looked washed out so I hit them with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze to help break up the color a little. The green fluff is Flower Soft and I love this stuff to add dimension and embellishment.

The "HI THERE" is a sentiment that came with the CTMH FLOWER MARKET collection and I inked the "HI" and stamped and then inked the "THERE" and stamped so I could put a little bit of a curve to match the banner. The banner is also from the cartridge and I cut it about in half and used the piece I cut off to go behind the stamped sentiment. The pole, well it's actually a stem image from the cartridge. I was looking for something to use as a pole and when I saw the single stem I opted for it and I liked how it had a slight curve to make it look like it was blowing in the wind a little.

I'm having a lot of fun with this cartridge and am looking at more images on the cartridge so I can see what else I can make.

CTMH Flower Market - Mason Jar Card

I got with the Mason Jar trend a few years ago when I bought a stamp and die set and I haven't used it lately and when I saw a Mason Jar and it had a little doily label that went with it on the CTMH Flower Market Cartridge I decided I needed to revisit my love of Mason Jar cuts.

The one thing I have problems with is making a jar look like glass. For this card I went with the palest of blue's cardstock and then used some transparent paper over it and while it doesn't look clear like glass I thought it could pass for a milky colored glass.

I went with the Sweat Pea cut for the flowers in the jar and they were really easy to put together. and luckily I was able to get it sized about right. I tell ya this whole not using Make The Cut is driving me bonkers since I am so use to how that program works. I still don't like the "glitchiness" of Design Space or how I get lags at times and I know it's due to it being connected to the internet *okie still thinks that's about a crock of chit* but in order to use the Flower Market cartridge I have to endure the pain of using the program for more than just cutting.

To give the jar some dimension I curved it around my Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive bottle and applied some mounting foam down the middle of the jar and ran a thin like of glue down the sides of the jar. This picture doesn't really show the dimension all that well and I couldn't figure out any other way on trying to show the effect.

The "thinking of you" was from the stamp set that comes with the Flower Market Collection and there are a number of great stamps in that set for quite a few different occasions. I totally lucked out that this stamp fit on the doily ban after I got it cut because I didn't even think to measure it first. And I would like to add I was a bit nervous about cutting that doily due to the intricate details and the small size but the Cricut Explore handled it like a champ and gave me great cuts on all 6 doilies. Why 6 you say? Well because *and okie thinks everyone should know this by now* I usually always make 6 of a card so I have extras when I need them.

Thinking of You Cards - 4 of 4

For the last card I wanted something a bit more subdued or masculine and I think I was able to achieve both with the choice of colors and design. I wanted subdued so it could be used for a sympathy card if needed or masculine so it would be more gender specific for a male receiver.

Supplies Used:

K&Co. Paper
Stampin Up Ticket Punch (retired)

The males in the groups really liked the design and said they would like it if they received the card and all the group members thought the color choices were good if they wanted to use it as a Sympathy card and sadly they have had 3 deaths of fellow residents in the last month or and were able to use the cards. The wonderful thing about the ICF/IID population is that the handle the death of others so well because as they always tell me "they are in a better place".

It doesn't seem like we made these cards that long ago but it was back in April when they did the cards and here it is June and they are doing birthday cards already! We got 2 made last week and they will make 2 more next week and I'll post those when they get them all done.

Thinking of You Cards - 3 fof 4

Since it seems the group members think I take requests these days for their card kits this card got a butterfly. One of the ladies likes butterflies and thought we needed to do a card with a butterfly *okie really thinks she needs to tell them to shut up and take what they get*

Supplies Used:
Stampin Up Butterfly Basics stamp set

I found the Sizzix dies at Zipp Outlet and I think I paid 3 or 4 bucks for them, I know it wasn't much. I was just diggin through a box and POOF there they were. Sadly it was the only set I found but I did feel lucky to find them.

They had a lot of fun with this card because there was quite a bit of stamping. Some of the folks are brave enough to just take the stamp and do their own but others want me to line it up for them. Usually for the sentiments I do line them up. The fern leaves at the bottom was an area where they were able to just ink and stamp without worrying about lining things up. I generally try and make a few spare pieces, such as the white mat on this card, just in case someone messes up and we need to have the do another.

I had a hard time to get a few of them to stamp the sentiment on top of the flower image because they were afraid it was going to mess it up but once they did it they really liked it. This particular card is one I made and I did use some Liquid Pearls on the butterfly down the "spine" and I didn't do that for the cards in group because there wouldn't be time for them to dry before the end of group.

Thinking Of You Cards - 2 of 4

For the second card my groups did one of the members had asked for something with a flower and said "that way we can use it for a birthday card if we want" and I thought that was a good idea.

Supplies Used:

Stampin Up patterned paper (retired)
Stampin Up Fun Flower Punch (retired)
3/8" Grosgrain Ribbon
Brad

I will be honest and tell y'all I got the idea for the layout of the cards through searches on Google as I was just not feeling creative when I was making the kits. The group members were thrilled, like they always are with each card. I would actually like to make a few more of these in the future because they were easy ad I liked the end product, of course for my own liking I would need to do some inking on them.

I had the holes poked for the brad but it was difficult for a few of them to put the brad in to put the flowers together so I had to do most of them. Also one of them didn't like doing it because they were afraid they were going to get hurt "because it's sharp".

Thinking of You Cards - 1 of 4

One of the ladies in one of my groups at the ICF/IID asked if we could make get well cards and after we discussed it we decided "thinking of you" would be better since they could be used for a variety of occasions. The two groups that I do out there did 4 different thinking of you cards which was a total of 48 card kits I did for the groups and then I made a few of each because I needed a sample card for them to look at and I couldn't do just one because that would be an odd number...I can't do odd numbers.

This is the first of the thinking of you cards they did.

Supplies Used:

Stampin Up Bird Punch (retired)
Graphic 45 papers

I always have all the elements cut out for the groups since I have limited time and there are 6 people to a group but each person put their card together and they also did their stamping. I did have them stamp the "thinking of you" on the card first so they would have a better idea of where to put their circle.

I tore the bottom of the front of the card off and inked it a bit and the stripe paper is taped to the inside base of the card.

I always gripe about how much work it is to do the card kits but to see the looks on their faces and the comments they make about completing a card always makes it worth the effort. Yesterday we started the birthday cards they make every summer and they get to make 4 of those as well and I'll post them when they get done.

Stampin Up Birthday Blooms Card

Another stamp set I ordered a few weeks ago was the Birthday Blooms out of the Occasions Catalog. I wanted to challenge myself with trying watercoloring a stamped image with my Stampin Up Inks and I thought this would be a good set to try the process.

Don't forget I am having an online party and if you would like to make an order just go > HERE< to make your order and use Hostess Code  UBZCDCFA when you check out, you should see my name as the hostess once you enter the code.

I wasn't sure how I liked this process when I started doing the watercoloring process and I wasn't sure how well my image was turning out and thought about trashing them. I did post it on Facebook and I got some good feedback so I decided to go ahead and finish the images and make some cards.

I have to admit that I totally lifted the idea for the card from Stampin With Kristi although I had to change a few things since I didn't have the supplies she did. The image had to be "fussy cut" and I ended up cutting off some of the leaf bunches because I am lazy.

Supplies used:

Stampin Up Birthday Blooms Stamp set
Stampin Up Inks
Watercolor Brush
Watercolor Paper
Stampin Up Label Collection Dies (retired)
Various Paper
Cuttlebug Distress Stripe embossing folder
Transparent paper
Linen Ribbon
Square Punch
Martha Stewart pearls

I tied the bow using the Double Bow method and the tutorial linked was the easiest and shortest I found. For the little banner I just used a square punch to make the end forked.

It's hard to see but I did add a few little flowers with one of the stamps in the set and I guess I should have used a darker color since they are hard to see but it was too late after I got them stamped.

This set came from the Occasions Catalog and you can order from the link at the beginning of this post and don't forget if you order $50 of product you get a free item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.

Stampin Up Grateful Bunch Card

The Stampin Up Occasions Catalag came out recently as did the annual Sale-A-Bration catalog and I couldn't wait to order a few goodies! This card is made with the Grateful Bunch Bundle. I love bundles like this because I am a sucker for punches and when there are stamps that go with it then it's a win win situation!

I am also having an online party and if you would like to make an order just go > HERE< to make your order and use Hostess Code  UBZCDCFA when you check out, you should see my name as the hostess once you enter the code.

Supplies Used:
Stampin Up Grateful Bunch stamp set
Stampin Up Blossom Bunch Punch
Various cardstock and papers
ProMarkers
Sheer Ribbon
Queen & Co. Pearls
Memento Inks

The stamp for the 3 flowers line up on the punch so it makes it easy to punch them all out once. I used the Promarkers for all the coloring of the flowers and leaves. I can't tell you how much I am in love with the Die-namics stitched dies! I love the stitched look and there are 9 in the set so here are plenty of sizes from which you can choose.

I generally like to decorate the inside of my cards with strips of paper that are left over from the front because it adds a little  more interest. The butterfly and sentiment are included in the stamp set as are all the stamped images on this card.

If you are not familiar with Stampin Up Sale-A-Bration here is the information how it works...

3 Flower Card Challenge Projects

Sometime ago I use to post card and layout challenges and a lot of people always wanted me to post them and wanted to participate but then when the time came only a few participated and then it got to where no one participated so I stopped taking the time to make a design, make a post, etc etc etc and it looks like this might be my last card challenge. Since I did have a few people participate in the last card challenge but thought I would get the pictures of the cards up that were posted or sent to me.

My friend Avra made two cards for this challenge. I like how she used some of the Stampin Up flower punches in place of the flowers in the file. I have the same punches and they are some of my favorites. The "hello" is also from Stampin Up if I remember correctly.

On the second card Avra made she took a Christmas spin on the design and used snowflakes in place of the flowers. I really love the look she got with all the different patterned paper.

This card was done by my friend Kathy and when she posted hers I hadn't finished mine yet and I thought about not finishing it because I didn't want to post mine along with hers! I love all the colors in Kathy's card and the embellishments are just gorgeous.

For my card I used Graphic 45 Le Cirque papers. I used the flowers from the file and like how the turned out. I curled the petals a little to give them a little dimension. As I was laying the card all out after getting the base pieces done I thought "Oh dear God this thing looks like a crayon factory exploded!" Once I got done and had the large white piece for the sentiment in place I felt better about the card.

I'm not sure if and when I will post another card challenge. It's getting close to the holidays and I have some other things I need to work on and might not have time to do some designs.

Card Challenge - 3 Flower Card

I am going to admit that I really don't know what to call the card challenges and I absolutely don't know what to call the card designs that I am posting so if the title sounds weird forgive me.
This weeks challenge is a 3 flower card. And since people seem so curious as to where I am getting my designs I will tell you...I see something, trace it, make a file out of it. As for the ideas for the designs I get those from various locations and by the time I adjust tweak and save I honestly can't remember where the original idea came from so it's not that I am trying to cheat anyone, it's just that I have too many squirrels.

The following are to be used:
- Basic design of card (layer shadow optional)
- Oval frame
- 3 flowers, more if you want
- Leaves, amount of leaves are up to you
- Feel free to add other embellishments

The oval can contain a stamped or cut out sentiment. I left it large enough so a cut out sentiment can be used.

Cards will need to be completed by midnight Thursday November 12th. If anyone would like to send a picture of their card to me to post just send it to me by EMAIL and I'll be glad to post your project.

SVG users if you are importing into Cricut Design Space you will need to select all and resize to 4.25" x 5.5" to keep ratio that is show in the picture.

Bee Card Challenge Projects

So I'm a little late getting the cards posted but I've had a really busy week. It seems my life is always busy these days and I'm not really sure what I do to stay busy *okie stops and tries to think of what she is accomplishing in her busy life and can think of nothing...absolutely nothing*

I had posted the Bee Card Challenge here and in my Facebook group Old Cricut Community to see if anyone wanted to join BFF Carmen and I for the challenge and I did have a few send me pictures or post them in the Facebook group.

I'll start off with my card. I added some Glossy Accents in the honeycomb to give it a wet look and then added some Fiskars Zings to make it look like honey dripping off the honeycomb. For the wings I did a layer of mica and then a layer of translucent drew on some veins with a Stardust pen.

I went with a simple sentiment I cut out and left the inside blank so it can be used for about any purpose.

This card was made by Avra Williams. Avra is part of the OCC group and has been a Cricut friend for years, we met on the Cricut Messageboard years ago.

I love how Avra made a "trail" behind the bees for their flight pattern.

BFF Carmen made this card and she said it was a pain to glue all the little letters and I am sure it was but it is so nice! The inside of the card says "great friends are we".

Linda Guild made two different cards for the challenge, both punny cards. She said she is counting the donut as the half circle in the design.

Linda loves minions and I bet this idea came to her as soon as she saw the card!

The last card was made by Maureen Sala. She saw the challenge here and decided to join in. She said she downloaded the SVG and opened it in her Explore just fine. Maureen also said "I usually do bright colors, so this card was a change for me.  Pop dotted the bee - it turned out fantastic."  I love the paterns she used and the sentiment.

I'll get a new challenge posted tomorrow!
