Football Practice- 4 nights a week 2 1/2 hours a night with 6 hours at the field plus commute time on Saturdays between Kaed and Carts Football Registration- $200 Deposit- $100 Football Gear - $300 Football Attire- $250 (BTW~ I think I'm going to quit my job and sell football accessories for West Point :>) Seeing the look on your sons face after he wins his first football game.... Priceless!!
Carter played @ Skyview this weekend and his team won their first football game! Yeah!! We knew they could do it! It meant so much to the boys after going 0 and 3 up to this point and driving an hour and a half each way to this game. Good thing the first couple games weren't region games. They're 1 and 1 in region. I couldn't believe how loud the sidelines were! All the parents were working so hard to pump the kiddos up. Not to mention Skyview had a player that was playing really dirty on their team that brought out our team spirit! It's not all about winning but when you're at your mid-season game and you haven't won one yet it starts to wear on the kids and coaches. They lost their starting QB due to a broken elbow after the 1st game and it's taken a little bit to shift some things around and get in their groove. We have a great set of kids and a wonderful coaching staff (I'm partial to the tall dark and handsome one :>). It's so good to see it all starting to pay off!
Carter had an awesome tackle in the 4th quarter! You could really hear it! At first we all thought it was #18 on his team because he's their toughest player but then little Carter, #81, popped up from the tackle and everyone was so surprised. Carter's a good little player but this was his first tackle where you could hear the shoulder pads pop because he's one of the smallest kids on the team. The head coach asked 'where's that been all year?' Coach 'Dad' was just beaming on the sidelines.
We made a banner for their team the night before but Kaedan, Tre and I visited the cheese factory while Carter's team was warming up (to keep Tre from being outside so long since we had to be at the field for Kaedan's game at 9 and left straight from there to be at Carter's field at 2:30 and Tre has been really sick with croup though it's been worse at night and in the morning) and got back what should have been about a half hour before the game started but the closest parking lot was full so we had to park literally about a mile away from the field and pack everything up and carry it. We're talking stroller, 2 folding chairs, 10x10 canopy, blanket, diaper bag, purse, banner, drinks, etc. between me and Kaedan. It gets better ~ about half way there my flip flop breaks and I have to truck it across the black top with 1 shoe. Have you ever tried to walk with a broken flip flop when the front part that goes between your toes has come out? Not possible! Then we realize they started early though they were just practicing next to the parking lot when we drove through the main parking lot to find there were no spaces. I was so sad it didn't get there in time with the banner. The kids weren't planning on it. It was just something that we wanted to do so once we saw how good they were doing it wasn't as bad. We'll save it for the next game I guess. Kaedan's team won as well and he had some great blocks. They are 3 and 1 overall and 1 and 0 in region. He plays for a great team and coaching staff too but since this was Carter's teams first win I thought we would spotlight him for this weekend. :) Here are some pictures and video clips from the game and banner making. Pay attention to the end of the video. Carter's head coach is looking for him to give him props on his tackle. Sorry I didn't get a picture of Carter's great tackle. I wasn't planning on taping anything exept them running through the banner this week since I was dealing with a sick baby. Once we realized they were going to win I had to take some though.

Good Job Guys! How fun is all that? I sure hope those little guys appreciate what great devoted parents they have!
Love you all!
Dad and Mom
Oh and we are pretty partial to that tall dark handsome coach too!
It looks like you guys have been very busy! I am glad to see that they won! You are such a cute mom to make a banner for them. You will definitely have to stop by and talk next week when things slow down a little bit.
Wow! What a day! You must be so exhausted! Congrats Carter on your win!
