This post is really late but our family has been sick off and on the last couple weeks and Tre's been really sick this week so I haven't had much time. Gotta love the back to school crud. Tre seems to be getting a little better today. His fever is finally starting to break. Yeah! Tre started taking his first few steps the end of August. I can't believe how old he's getting! It's so exciting and sad at the same time. Wouldn't you know that he took his first couple steps at the babysitters and officially started walking at Grandma and Grandpa Nye's about 15 minutes before Troy and I got back from our overnight stay in Park City for our anniversary?! That's exactly why we usually don't leave our kids. :) I was out of town on a business trip when Carter went all night at Papa John and Grandma Kim's without having an accident in his pull-up for the first time years ago too. That one was fine by me though. :) No, really~ thanks for capturing Tre walking on video so we could see it guys! Check out the cute little videos. The first one is at Grandma and Grandpa Nye's and the second is at our house a couple days later. He's a pro now though when he wants to get somewhere fast he reverts back to crawling. I got a little excited on the second video cheering and wasn't thinking about the fact I was holding the video camera. Sorry...

Happy Anniversary!
I know it's a little late but Troy and my 4th anniversary (it seems like so much longer ~ in a good way) was September 2nd and Grandma and Grandpa Nye took the kiddos overnight for us so that we could have a getaway to Park City. It was really nice! We haven't stayed overnight somewhere without the kids in a few years so it was much needed. First we went and did the Alpine Coaster. It was so much fun! It was rainy that weekend and it started to pick up right as we got to the front of the line after we waited about a half hour but it wasn't bad and Troy was a gentleman and let me wear his hat while it rained so my hair didn't get all messy. Then we visited the Chocolate Factory and got some chocolate caramels (which the boys helped me demolish) and ate at the Baja Cantina (my first time) because it's Troy's favorite Mexican restaurant. It was great! After that we were going to go back and swim and relax in the jacuzzi at the hotel but the pool area was closed because it was an indoor/outdoor pool and there was lightning in the area so we decided to go back and watch some tube. No satellite signal. Only us!! :) We finished off by hitting the outlet stores the next day and found that we are getting old and boring in our clothing choices. Who knew?! Though we had a great time we were really excited to get back and pick up our kiddos! Thanks so much for taking them Bev and Steve! They had so much fun! We'll have to take your advice and get out a little more. Troy is going to hate this mooshy part for everyone to see but I just want to let him know what a great hubby and dad he is! He is amazing and I am so thankful everyday for him. I can't imagine my life without him and there's never a dull moment when he's around! Sorry we didn't get any pictures. We totally will next time. Grandma and Grandpa did get some cute pictures of the kids while they were there though. Tre is especially photogenic for Grandma. :) Here are our favorites:
Tre the little helper. What a ham!
Kaedan watchin' movies. One of his favorite things to do ~ besides football... Carter diggin' some coke. We saw what coke did to him on our wedding day. You guys are brave. :)
The boys were so excited to play with legos that Grandma picked up especially for their visit.
What a stinkin' cute face!

Carter's First Football Win!
Football Practice- 4 nights a week 2 1/2 hours a night with 6 hours at the field plus commute time on Saturdays between Kaed and Carts Football Registration- $200 Deposit- $100 Football Gear - $300 Football Attire- $250 (BTW~ I think I'm going to quit my job and sell football accessories for West Point :>) Seeing the look on your sons face after he wins his first football game.... Priceless!!
Carter played @ Skyview this weekend and his team won their first football game! Yeah!! We knew they could do it! It meant so much to the boys after going 0 and 3 up to this point and driving an hour and a half each way to this game. Good thing the first couple games weren't region games. They're 1 and 1 in region. I couldn't believe how loud the sidelines were! All the parents were working so hard to pump the kiddos up. Not to mention Skyview had a player that was playing really dirty on their team that brought out our team spirit! It's not all about winning but when you're at your mid-season game and you haven't won one yet it starts to wear on the kids and coaches. They lost their starting QB due to a broken elbow after the 1st game and it's taken a little bit to shift some things around and get in their groove. We have a great set of kids and a wonderful coaching staff (I'm partial to the tall dark and handsome one :>). It's so good to see it all starting to pay off!
Carter had an awesome tackle in the 4th quarter! You could really hear it! At first we all thought it was #18 on his team because he's their toughest player but then little Carter, #81, popped up from the tackle and everyone was so surprised. Carter's a good little player but this was his first tackle where you could hear the shoulder pads pop because he's one of the smallest kids on the team. The head coach asked 'where's that been all year?' Coach 'Dad' was just beaming on the sidelines.
We made a banner for their team the night before but Kaedan, Tre and I visited the cheese factory while Carter's team was warming up (to keep Tre from being outside so long since we had to be at the field for Kaedan's game at 9 and left straight from there to be at Carter's field at 2:30 and Tre has been really sick with croup though it's been worse at night and in the morning) and got back what should have been about a half hour before the game started but the closest parking lot was full so we had to park literally about a mile away from the field and pack everything up and carry it. We're talking stroller, 2 folding chairs, 10x10 canopy, blanket, diaper bag, purse, banner, drinks, etc. between me and Kaedan. It gets better ~ about half way there my flip flop breaks and I have to truck it across the black top with 1 shoe. Have you ever tried to walk with a broken flip flop when the front part that goes between your toes has come out? Not possible! Then we realize they started early though they were just practicing next to the parking lot when we drove through the main parking lot to find there were no spaces. I was so sad it didn't get there in time with the banner. The kids weren't planning on it. It was just something that we wanted to do so once we saw how good they were doing it wasn't as bad. We'll save it for the next game I guess. Kaedan's team won as well and he had some great blocks. They are 3 and 1 overall and 1 and 0 in region. He plays for a great team and coaching staff too but since this was Carter's teams first win I thought we would spotlight him for this weekend. :) Here are some pictures and video clips from the game and banner making. Pay attention to the end of the video. Carter's head coach is looking for him to give him props on his tackle. Sorry I didn't get a picture of Carter's great tackle. I wasn't planning on taping anything exept them running through the banner this week since I was dealing with a sick baby. Once we realized they were going to win I had to take some though. With Love... Troy, Brandy, and Boys at Sunday, September 07, 2008 3 Comments
Feeding the Ducks at Layton Park
We went to feed the ducks at Layton Park last weekend. It was relaxing and nice to be outside with the boys somewhere other than the football field (though we love that too). The boys had a lot of fun! Here are some pictures from our visit...
