Bene Ristorante

Bene Ristorante is an Italian Restaurant located in Living World Alam Sutera. I am actually a regular visitor of the mall, but honestly I've never seen this restaurant before because it's located far at the end of the mall (near Bon Chon Chicken and Kafe Betawi area), and the music stage in front of the place kinda hinder it. But thanks to the food tasting invitation, I've got the chance to get to know more of Bene Ristorante and taste their food, which is actually good!

The food they serve here is mostly Italian, but they also have some interesting fusion menu to try. One of their specialty is the Pizza, which comes in three different sizes: Single Fighter (fit for 1-2 persons), Gossiper (fit for 3-4 persons), and the 1 Metre Pizza (1 metre long pizza with 3 different toppings). The 1 metre pizza really sounds fun to eat with your best buddies, isn't it?

Patate Fritte Alla Bolognese (IDR 37.000)
Thick-cut potato french fries topped with bolognese sauce, melted mozzarella, and yellow cheddar cheese. An awesome starter! I've always loved thick-cut french fries, now even better, it came with generous bolognese sauce and cheese. The beef bolognese sauce is really good, the sweet and sour taste are perfectly balanced.

Paella Pasta (IDR 55.000)
Inspired by the famous Spanish dish, the pasta is tossed with curry-saffron paste, sauteed seafood, and shredded kafir lime leaves. This was my favorite dish of the night. Pasta was al-dente, while the saffron curry sauce is very rich and fragrant. A new way to eat your pasta, I'm definitely addicted to this.

Bene Classico Pizza, Single Fighter Size (IDR 71.000)
It is the specialty of Bene Ristorante. The Pizza is topped with homemade tomato sauce, grilled chicken breast, jalapeno pepper, pineapple, onion, melted mozzarella cheese, drizzled with mayonnaise and garnished with chopped beef bacon. I really like the pizza dough, it's thick and fluffy, the topping was also nice but it's just not my kind of pizza, since I don't like jalapeno and onion.

Iced Strawberry Caipiroska (IDR 39.000)
My drink that night, a nice iced tea with lime, strawberries, and mint leaves. Lovely presentation, it tasted cold and fresh.

Panetone all 'Aanas (IDR 32.000)
Lastly we were served with the dessert. It is basically a hot pineapple bread pudding, served with cold white cream sauce. It tasted quite decent, but the inside of the pudding was kinda mushy and it would be better if they add more pineapple slices to add the flavor.

After tasting several menu of theirs, I find all the food were nice and decent, and some even very good! That's just a little of them I've tasted, I'd really love to come back and try the other menus. And it's also a nice place if you like live music since it's located near the stage. I came there on Friday night and the band was really nice. Thank you Bene Ristorante for having me.

Lekker Bekker

I'm starting to cross my Food Resolution Lists! And this one happened accidentally.

Last week, I went to Mall Alam Sutera with my parents. The place was new, and it claimed itself as the largest mall in Southeast Asia, so it got us curious. As it turns out, I don't think it's that big, but maybe it was because not many stores were open, so there's not much to see yet.

Anyway, we were just wandering around, when I saw that Lekker Bekker had opened their outlet here. As far as I know, it only got two outlets in Tebet and Serpong, so I got excited immediately and brought my parents to eat there. The place was very homey, decorated with comfortable sofas and pillows, and a cabinet full of cute things in the other side. It served Dutch home style cooking, with a twist of Indonesian delicacy.

We were not too hungry that night, so we decided to share Original Poffertjes (IDR 17.500) and Galantine (IDR. 38.500) for the three of us. They were both delicious. The poffertjes are warm and moist, and the galantine was very delicious. It was crunchy on the outside, but soft and dense on the inside. And it made a perfect combination with the sauce. For me, the only thing lacking is the portion :p

My Kopi O

Last week, I joined my mom and dad to go to my dad's factory at night to do some general checking. It was already late when it's done, and we were getting hungry. Since my dad's factory located in Tangerang, we decided to grab some food in Living World, Alam Sutera.
Unlike the other malls, Living World provided late night dining for the costumers. All the restaurants in the Ground Floor open until midnight, and they also had various selections. After a short walk, we decided to try My Kopi O.
I first heard of this place from wanderbites, he wrote a good review for this restaurant that i suddenly remembered it when we passed by. And also, my mom always like kaya toast, so there we were.
Since it was already late, me and my dad decided to share a bowl of spaghetti mamak, and my mom, as usual, ordered the kaya toast.

Spaghetti Mamak
I'm glad we decided to share it, since it comes in a large portion. It was a spaghetti sauteed with sliced beef, eggs, tomatoes, and bean sprouts. I love the bean sprouts, it gave the crunchiness for the spaghetti, but i think noodles suits better than spaghetti for this kind of food. Spaghetti is just to rough.

Kaya Toast
I like this kaya toast better than Kopitiam's, simply because they didn't combine the kaya toast with french fries (which I thought a wierd combination), and because they used two slices of bread, instead of dividing a slice of bread into two and put the kaya jam in the middle. It becomes too thin in my opinion.
And also, the kaya jam was also more delicious and sweet-scented, because they combined it with pandan somehow. The bread was also perfectly toasted.

It's too bad Living World is kinda far. I will definitely be a loyal customers for the kaya toast if they opened an outlet near my house. :p

Motto Motto Ramen - Closed

A few days ago, me and david went to Living World Mall at Alam Sutera to help a friend deliver a letter to his colleagues. But when we arrived, our friend said that his colleagues has left. We were dissapointed, but since we're there already, we decided to take a walk.

After a short walk at ground floor, we found this eye catching hippo restaurant named Motto Motto. The hippopotamus wallpaper was so attractive and cute, so we decided to try it, although we've had lunch at home before. Oh and not only the hippo wallpaper, they also got a hexagonal shaped sofa area which is so cute and feels more private.

We decided to share a plate, since our tummy still quite full that time, so we ordered a Chicken Donburi Complete Meal (32k). Their specialties is noodles, but David prefered rice that day, so i followed him. The price was quite low, 32k for a bowl of chicken donburi, gyoza, chicken karaage, salad, chicken soup and ocha. All of them tasted nice, and the soup was really satisfying for us. Too bad it's located far away from my house. Please open your next outlet in West Jakarta! ;)
