BTO - Signing of Agreement for Lease

The signing of Agreement for Lease of our flat came and went. As Dearie was not around on the appointment date, he got to appoint a Power of Attorney (PA) to execute on his behalf. So we went to the law firm a day before he flew to get the PA sorted out and this procedure cost us $200 boo!

It was so upsetting cause HDB does not allow us to delay the signing of this lease till when Dearie's back, and they would deemed us as giving up our chance if we did not go down on that day. How smart ey?

So anyway I went down, together with his mum, and went through all the signing of papers myself. And that's a lot!!! After signing the papers, the officer went through the payment process with us, we made use of the staggered downpayment procedure and paid our first 5% downpayment, so my CPF is actually $9k poorer after the deduction. So grateful for our housing grant!!

So yeap, it's all done and there's no need to go down to HDB again till the collection of keys yea! Meanwhile, cant wait to see it being constructed. Estimated completion is 2019 but the officer told me to prep myself that it might be ready in around 2017/18, which is not too far away! O.O

Start of December

Aloha! It's one week into December already and here I am trying to update random things that happened a week ago. Urps. I tried my best updating asap alrdy. :/

Anyway, if you are still interested... here goes!

I finally signed up for my first ever marathon with my colleagues at work on the last day of November! The day the early bird registration ends! LOLOL! It's gonna be held in March next year and I certainly hope it won't be my last. :D

When I was younger, I always thought people who went for marathons were wasting their money paying for and running in races. But as I grew, I might actually understand why. It's that sense of achievement you get when you earn the medal yourself, even more so when the distance is already a challenge in the first place! It's like overcoming something which you might think is impossible at first but you marvel at your own strength, determination and perseverance thereafter. It sounds rather amazing but that could most prolly be the main reason why people love participating in races instead of leisure running!

I really like running when I was younger! I love NAPFA cause I can run 2.4km and aim getting a 5 points each time. Heh. But it all stopped when I left my secondary school. Now, as I see more and more of my friends participating in marathons, it makes me want to join in the fun too! I always wanted to try, but never able to find a companion to go with me. And I'm glad to know that some of my colleagues are kinda on to go with me! :D

Okay before I blabber too much, Dearie drove Sissy and I to Udders at Upper Thomson Road for late night ice-cream after his paper that evening! And we ended November with..... a summon.. :((((( Failed big time! The whole stretch of cars parked along the private estate all got it. Guess the Fatimahs/Ahmads are all working very hard for their year end bonuses. :X Our ice-cream date was a big mistake, and it costs us so  much! :'(

If you are still interested, that's a scoop of Tiramisu with intense dose of brandy and a scoop of Earl Grey ice-cream. Heh!

I kickstart my December with a new read!

Books were on 20% sales for members at Popular so I hastily grabbed a copy for myself. I know I'm super late and everyone wont be talking about this when I'm done cause they have all moved on to other books. LOLOL!

Good things don't end there. We selected our flat last Sunday! We reached there exactly at our appointment time and got a queue ticket. Got called in within 2 minutes, didn't even have the chance to catch our breath cause we ran from the carpark to the hub and gotta listen and sign loads of documents then. :X

Oh! We got what we wanted too! Our first choice of block/unit. Not too bad right! But the purchase price was skyhigh. :X

Alrighty ciaos! Happy TGIF people!! :D:D:D

Will update again real soon!

Our first big step together ;)

Omg no words can explain how excited and exhilarated I am now while blogging this on my way home!

Yes! As you would have probably guess from the instagram picture I posted here, we got a Q number for our BTO flat! Our first attempt and viola, we got it! But sad thing is I couldn't have friends being my neighbours cos their queue numbers were quite far back:((

Need to give special thanks to lady luck this time, especially I'm not the lucky one everytime!! :D

And also super happy cos our number falls within the top 5% of the total submitted applications! Which also mean we will have a tough time selecting the unit cause too many for us to choose from!! How happy!! :D

Of course, we can't be too happy until we got our desired floor, unit etc! But totally cannot be too greedy alrdy!! Suddenly feeling like we have tons of research to do and whatnots! But I guess that is all part of growing up - having your own little nest!! ^^ I'm so willing to be busy over this:)

Okays I'm like typing furiously on my phone now and they might sound like gibberish which makes no sense with all the fail sentence structuring so please pardon me okay, I just want to express how I'm feeling at this point of time!

Can't wait to share this great news with the family!

Okays finally expressed my thoughts here. Will gather them and write a proper entry when my feelings are all settled.

I'm outta here! Whoops!
