You make me HAPPY; Our 8th Vday ♥

Valentine's day this year was a pleasant surprise cause I can have a bouquet of flowers too! Hehe! Totally caught me off guard because the boy gave it to me on the eve of Vday, when we met up for dinner and for FSOG movie.

Pretty pink rose me likey!

Happy girlfriend = Happy man. Hehe.

Selfie with my flowers of course!

Tried my best to keep the flowers as long as possible and slow down the withering process but it eventually went down the bins a month later :( Why do pretty things not last?

Anyway we met up again the following day for our actual Vday date!

It was near CNY so we went shopping for new clothes. Bought this pair of ripped jeans from Topshop and I'm surprised they are cheaper than Levi's. Very comfy too! And there's a further discount of 20% or 30% if I recalled correctly, so it only cost me approx $70 after discount? Cheap for a pair of jeans la! Really quite like the simplicity of the top but it cost a freaking $40 so nope, back to the rack. :(

Dinner was reserved at Milagro Spanish Restaurant located at Orchard Central, many thanks to the boy for researching for it. And I must give myself a pat on the back for being adventurous as well because the food was good and we totally enjoyed the meal!

Somehow, our vday card for each other every year seem to be same same but different. This year was same size and almost same design cause both of us wrote essays on the flip side haha.

It's been the 8th year that we are spending Vday together and it seriously did not feel that long. Where did all the time go?

Nonetheless, here's to more vday celebrations to come ♥

Mini Photoshoot at Serangoon Broadway

So around 3 months ago, I tagged along with Dearie's family to Serangoon Broadway for a mini phototaking session!

Reached there rather early in the morning around 11am and registered ourselves.

Took a wefie before we were whisked away shortly, the men getting their suits and ties and the ladies getting made up.

After what seems like forever, we are finally done with the make up!

Dearie got his full swit on and looking especially handsome! Super proud of him :)

So must take selfie!

After waiting for about 20 minutes for an available studio, we were ushered in. Everything happened very fast but yet not compromising on the professionalism as well. The photographer will ensure everybody give their brightest smile, with his assistant alongside him adjusting stool heights, hair, hands so that the overall look is on point!

Some behind the scenes photos which was taken. It was rather unclear as phototaking from devices are actually not allowed so I just sneaked a few shots as discreetly as possible.

The entire session from being registered to taking the photos were really super fuss free. We took about 45mins to an hour for everything I guess.

2 to 3 weeks later, we headed down yet again to select the photos to print onto canvas. It was a no brainer actually as some photos just look nicer after much elimination and comparison. :)

Here's our sample photos from the various poses we shot! All for us to keep hehe. And btw I think my hair look like shit la zzz. It's okay cause I'm not the limelight anyway haha.

After the photo selections, we had to decide on the photo size and frame designs. This took us quite a while as we find it rather hard to visualise the photos together with the frame but we eventually decided after a lot of back and forth among ourselves.

Finally, after a a month plus of wait due to CNY period, we were called to collect the final products. Missed taking a photo of their family portrait cause the person took it away rather quickly. :(

There was a teeny disappointment upon seeing the actual photos printed on canvas cause we felt wierd looking at ourselves on it but I guess what's done cannot be undone. Heh. Still a good work if we overlook the slight difference.

It was quite a lovely experience nonetheless and I feel really loved that they will include me in taking family portraits cause it's like they really treat me as one of them already *.* (too touched for words)

I wonder how will it be like when we take the family protrait again during his sister's graduation in 5 yrs time? Will there be additional people in the frame? ;) I would like to think there will be. :)

New Toy - Kindle Basic 7th Generation

Friends who know me know my love for reading fiction books, mainly romance and sometimes thrillers too.

When I was younger, the NLB is one of my favourite place to be in, be it after schools or in the weekends. I will always head home with maximum of 4 books as that is the limit they held for each library card then. Sometimes I will borrow my sis's library card just to bring home 4 more books. Heh.

I forgot when and how did reading become one of my favourite pasttime but I guess the interest grew ever since I turned to reading in order to brush up on my command of English. I have never stopped reading since then.

I always love a good read and seek solace in the world which the writer created.

I thoroughly enjoyed flipping through the pages and skimming the contents of each book I picked up. But as my bags get smaller, I really hate bringing them out due to the additional weight.

So I made an investment recently. And that is to purchase an e-reader! I have been contemplating to get one for the longest time but I never really got down to it. How thrilled I was to finally get it about a month ago via Qoo10!

It comes with a free kindle pouch as well :)

Amazon is the creator of this wonderful e-reader! They don't do direct shipping to Singapore so I'm extremely happy to find a Singapore seller through qoo10.

Unboxing my kindle!

Tore off the protective sheet and powered it up!

I even got a smart cover that is able to wake the kindle up when flipped open and bring it to sleep when closed. Totally not me to get it in navy but it is the most practical choice in the long run (so I do not need to suffer from dirty covers)

I have been using it for a month plus now and I'm super loving it so far! It is glare free which makes reading from it such a breeze. There is a dictionary in it for me to learn/understand new words as I read along, which saves me lots of time to google the meaning from my phone.

I am carrying it around with me and it has accompanied me on my train/bus rides. Although I sometimes missed the feel of flipping through paperbacks but I am totally not missing the weight that actual books give. The kindle is so much lighter and convenient for me to bring it around.

Perks of buying it from the qoo10 seller is it came along with free 8000 titles of ebooks for us to download to our kindle for free. And most of the ebooks contain titles from popular authors like Dan Brown, J K Rowling, Nicholas Sparks and more! Definitely don't need to purchase anymore ebooks in the near future.

I am currently on book 5 of the mortal instrument series, which is the last. I never thought I would be in love with this entire series but I guess never say never.

I seriously hope this kindle will serve me well and for as long as possible!

Seoul, Korea Day 5 Part II // Petite France 쁘띠프랑스, Jin Ok Hwa Original Chicken Restaurant //

Happy Good Friday all!

Cheers to long weekend so I'm going to continue with my travelogues!

So after Nami Island, we hopped on a taxi to bring us to Petite France. We did not manage to board the bus as it was too crowded and the next bus wont be there till 30 minutes late, so we decided to just take the cab else we will reach the city quite late in the evening

Petite France is a French cultural village set in the Korean countryside and serves both as a French cultural village and a youth training facility as well. Visitors can lodge and experience French food, clothing and household culture. The concept of Petite France encapsulates "flowers, stars, and the Little Prince"

But I think the main reason why people flock to Petite France is because it was starred in one of the scenes in the drama series "You who came from the stars, 来自星星的你" and its colourful buildings I guess!

Here we are after close to 20 minutes ride!

Snow covered roofs! *.*

These are the colourful houses I mentioned. It instantly lifts up one's spirits don't you think so? It feels like a cheerful place to be in hehe.

Favourite picture of us taken by a fellow Singaporean. Loving the familiarity of meeting fellow countrymen overseas! Super love the colours as well it might go up on the walls of our new home :)

OOTD worthy backdrop!

Not a fan of the drama. I din even watch it but its okay! Just snap a photo only :)

And we left the place with a happier heart hehe! We did not spend a lot of time there, probably an hour so we did not really explore the nook and cranny of every corner. We managed to take in whatever we can in that short span of time so it was a trip worth the time for at least once I guess!

Took the train back to the city and I could not remember how long we took but it was probably close to an hour? We were sooo tired in the train but there were no seats for us so I can only squat on the floor to relieve my aching feet. Haha. Can imagine?

Later in the evening, we headed down to find this old traditional restaurant which serves yummy 一只鸡 for dinner. Had quite a hard time finding this place cause it was located behind an alley, but thanks to the help of a local that we found it. Waited for close to 30 minutes before we got seated and was so thankful that they installed heaters outside the restaurant for us to seek warmth while waiting.

Food was served pretty quickly and the staff there helped with all the cutting of the chicken to bite sized pieces before we dig in. It is really comfort food in the chilly weather! Instantly warms up the stomach as well. It might not look appealing but somehow it just taste nice, and luckily they have pretty good chilli to dip the meat in so i quite like this meal. :D I forgot how much was it but probably $40 for 2 young chickens? Worth the money I would say!

Went back to the hotel for a pampering night! Slap on the mask and let it do its job while we watch tv! Quite shiok the feeling! Shiok until the boy fell asleep and I need to help him remove his mask and massage the remaining essence into his face and neck. #girlfriendduties lol

Took a serious wefie cos cannot smile later got creases and wrinkles haha.

Okay I'm half way there through the travelogues already! Hope to finish blogging everything by June! :D
