Complexion woes

So hooked to The Mortal Instruments series recently! Merely flipped through Book 1 - City of Bones without any expectations but I'm loving the plot! So started reading it and before I know it, I'm at book 2 - City of Ashes now! Woots! 3 more books to go to complete the series! I really love serial books hehe.

I braced myself and survived the first ever facial session today! Signed up for a facial package with my derm recently and quickly booked my facial appointment on that day before I lose all my courage.

The boy was quite surprised that I paid $1.3k on the whole package without a word. No thanks to the nurse who told me that day was the last day of promotion. Grr. Tell me that statement and I will pounce on the opportunity to grab!! Anyway just consoling myself that it's quite worth it cause the package comes with 6 months free consultations, $50 worth of voucher and $300 worth of products. So technically I only paid $700 for a $1.2k worth of facial treatments? Sounds quite a pretty good deal I suppose?

Anyway it's been high time I start going for such sessions cause who don't want good skin right? Let's hope the treatments justify themselves and I can see improvement in my skin! Really quite dumb cause I went back for my review and realised I have been applying the products in the wrong sequence! *face palm* no wonder my face quickly lost the glow liao. Plus all the tiny bumps everywhere grr! Why I don't have flawless skin leh why?

So this is how I feel after my first facial session. It is supposed to be an hour long which includes ultrasonic cleansing so the blackheads and comodones can be easily removed, followed by extractions, vitamin C penetration and ending it off with a cooling mask!

The cleansing was really soothing and comfortable cause the therapist is really gentle but the extractions totally up my pain threshold to an all time high la! It was so painful that my back was just sinking into the bed bit by bit. Thereafter, the vitamin C penetration and mask was relaxing enough. The session overran to 1.5hrs and I felt so bad! I figured cause it's my very first facial session and all my 26 yrs of gunk that built up must be quite a bit. Heh.

I reaalllyyy hope my face will clear up after feeding it with so many expensive products and facials! Just give me normal skin can? No need to be glowing and rosy la just free from zits and bumps can liao! Why so difficult!!

Celebrating my 26th :)

Hello November!

Time flies and its 8.5 more weeks to 2015!! How did the year 2014 flew by so fast? Nonetheless can't wait for 2015 to come cause new year means starting everything on a fresher note, better note! :D

Finally have the time to blog about my birthday and how the boy celebrated with me. Hehe. As usual he lets me decide on the dinner venue. :) Wanted to try Pince and Pints but we settled for a more affordable venue which is as good - Platypus Lobster Shack!

Lobster rolls are all over my Ig feed and all looks so enticing and tempting! And I have never had lobster meat before, suaku much? So I bugged the boy to bring us there. Hehe.

So there we were on my birthday eve :) It was a really small place located at China Square but I'm glad we were there early so we got seated quite quickly.

Here's a quick glance at their menu

Testing out Dearie's camera function on his new iphone 6 while waiting for food to be served. So many filters but I love this the most, instantly brightens the whole photo and the colours just look so vivid!

Crustacean Bowl (Starter)
Uni creme, butter-poached lobster, Japonica rice, honey ponzu, caviar, char-grilled cheddar cheese, sesame, chervil

This is really yummy no wonder reviews said this is a must try! Definitely ordering the main portion the next time!

I had the lobster roll set, and chose The Modern, which consist of butter-poached lobster meat, hollandaise, marinated garlic, lemon zest, chillies, Grana Boni cheese, chervil served together with truffle crisps and side salad

And wow, its really huge chunks of lobster meat at every bite no wonder it cost a whopping $23/set!

Dearie had The Spicy Diablo - butter poached lobster, homemade mayonaise, piquant garlic and spice which was equally yummy as well!!

Even though the portion looks tiny, but it managed to fill us up! Then off we go taking a romantic stroll and caught the lightshow at MBS! First time seeing this! Lots of tourists were taking photos so we joined in as well. Hehe.

Wefie with MBS right behind us hehe.

Walked for abit then Dearie insisted we go in to Lady M cause he wants to get me a cake!
And without fail he sings the birthday song~~

And another card to my collection! Scolded the boy for using such a cui photo of me -.-

Anyway, we had the vanilla crepe cake which is their signature cake, it's really creamy and nice but better for sharing, and to have it with a cup of tea! We had it with earl grey and it was nice!

That night definitely felt slower than usual. And we really talked for quite abit. Quality time matters above all! :D

The next day, on my actual birthday, we met up for a quick dinner at Itacho! Quite surprising cause the boy was supposed to be at a project meeting but he managed to sneak off earlier to have dinner with me! It's the thoughts that counts! He never fails to meet me on my actual day cause he does not want me to spend the day alone, other than the one time when he was in NS and it was totally not within his control :)

And he got me a really practical gift! A romoss portable charger! A really powerful charger this one can go up to 2 full charges! I was practically struggling with my cui phone that time as the battery life depletes so fast even when I'm not using it so this gift came super timely!! Major love how he's getting better at gifting now. Hehe. Cause he really just ran out of ideas on what to get for me the past few times and always came to me for ideas on what I need lol. ;) But this time, totally no advises needed from me. :D

Thank you Baby for the wonderful celebration!! To many years of birthday celebrations with you
XOXO
