Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 2014 #SCMS2014

This year's SCMS falls on 7th December 2014 and it is the first Sunday in Dec! Collected our race pack the day before at Expo!

Collection was such a breeze that we got our packs within 5 minutes! Checked out our race route as well. :)

Morning swollen faces :/

Anyway runners were entitled to a 20% off any merchandise bought during the collection so the both of us got a new pair of running shoes each! Definitely not an impulsive purchase since our shoes were giving ways then. Such a good deal because it was less than $200 each after discount!

My Boston Boost shoes which were so light and bouncy! And i super love the shade of green too :)

And dearie's Adios Boost shoes which are also light as well! Champion runners use this for their races so cannot beat this already! Call us the boost couple yo! Haha!

A pre-race shot with our new shoes!

The following day was race day! Both of us woke up at 5.45am for a quick breakfast before heading down to Esplanade for our race! Taking some pre race shots before warming up! The boy was super love to volunteer to help me apply muscle rub on my thighs and calves that day which was great so I don't have greasy hands hehe.

#ootd that day :)

The boy looking like he is going to conquer the full 42.195km marathon when it's actually just 10km! Haha! But 10km is still considered admirable ok!

What a good weather that day with fluffy white clouds! Thank god there's no thunderstorm as forecasted!

Shoes shot yo! Ready to hit the roads!

This was us when we hit the 5km mark and going strong! Yea half way more to go and it definitely is not as tiresome as I imagined!

Running shot which Dearie took for me heh

Post race shot after loads of hydration and catching our breaths!

 With our hard earned medal!!

Yea first marathon with you checked off the list! :D

Our e-certificates! Was super proud that I can complete the race in 1hr15minutes? Super amazed with myself hehe!

First serious marathon ever! My first 10km with the colleagues at work was sort of like a treasure hunt so we ended up completing 10km after 3 hours and another marathon with Dearie was cancelled due to bad weather conditions so I'm really glad SCMS happened!!

Was humbled by what I can do and am so so glad that I never stop except at water points to hydrate myself! Our pace was also consistent since the beginning. Couldn't be more thankful to the boy for always keeping tabs on me and running alongside me throughout the entire race, constantly encouraging me and being his silly self to motivate and spur me forward.

I couldn't have done this without you and I'm so glad to go for this marathon with you too.

A couple who runs together stays together. Love you loads baby!

More races to come perhaps? :)

Random updates!

Attended a relative's wedding a few weeks ago on behalf of my grandma! So I dragged the boy along to keep me company, anyway got free dinner since the ang bao is not from us. Hehe. And it's also our first time attending a wedding together!

Pretty ballroom at Orchard Hotel. Really quite a big setting with 40 odd tables! But I like that it's free from pillars so no blockage! Everybody can see the stage! Thumbs up for the simplicity too. The march in aisle is different, an L shaped instead of the usual I.

No photos of the newlyweds so here's us!

Dearie looking at the menu!

More photos of us again!

And took a photo with the christmas decos after the dinner! Spot Olaf from Frozen! Hehe! It was a love-is-in-the-air kinda night. Really love attending wedding!

**

So I have been toying with the idea of getting a curl since forever! People around me sure heard of me talking about it but my hair is always growing so slowly that I wonder if it ever will be of a suitable length to curl. So anyway my stylist very nicely did a temporary curl for me just to see how I will look like. I find it really wierd at first but I think I could get used to this!

Yay or nay? Thank god my ends are still brown so I don't look too old or wierd with black curl hair! Permanent curls is gonna look similar so I still got time to think about it until CNY next yr! Money fly away again~

The curls slowly dying towards the end of the night haha

Next day, back to boring hair again!

Anyway just spotted this really nice down jacket at Espirit and it cost $250! Same price as my down jacket la! Why didn't I see you earlier? Would have grab this although it's really heavy, but I really love the cream colour, fur hoodie and the cutting. MEH.
And pardon tired face after a long day of work!

Tata!

Oh December!

Woohoo! When tomorrow comes, it will officially be 2 more weeks till the long awaited trip! Everybody is going on holiday during this travel season and I absolutely can't wait for mine to come around too! (Rubbing my palms together in extreme anticipation hehe)

It's gonna be a really cold winter trip, my first time too and I hope I will have fun despite the bitter cold! I hope we get to see snow too! And by snow i mean falling snow! Just give me 1 day of falling snow will do yea? Else will be too cold to do outdoor exploration ba? hehe. And imagine just eating an ice cream in the cold? Would love to experience that! :D

To top it off, I will be working for 8 more days before my long leave of 2 weeks start! I think this is the longest leave I have ever taken since started working! Can you feel my excitement yet?

Time gonna pass very fast especially with the upcoming Standard Chartered Marathon this Sun! Very 1st 10km run with the boy and I hope the weather holds up for us! Gonna take time off after work tomorrow to have another round of practice run and to ensure that my body is able to take it.

December is gonna be so so so fun I can imagine it already! :D

Complexion woes

So hooked to The Mortal Instruments series recently! Merely flipped through Book 1 - City of Bones without any expectations but I'm loving the plot! So started reading it and before I know it, I'm at book 2 - City of Ashes now! Woots! 3 more books to go to complete the series! I really love serial books hehe.

I braced myself and survived the first ever facial session today! Signed up for a facial package with my derm recently and quickly booked my facial appointment on that day before I lose all my courage.

The boy was quite surprised that I paid $1.3k on the whole package without a word. No thanks to the nurse who told me that day was the last day of promotion. Grr. Tell me that statement and I will pounce on the opportunity to grab!! Anyway just consoling myself that it's quite worth it cause the package comes with 6 months free consultations, $50 worth of voucher and $300 worth of products. So technically I only paid $700 for a $1.2k worth of facial treatments? Sounds quite a pretty good deal I suppose?

Anyway it's been high time I start going for such sessions cause who don't want good skin right? Let's hope the treatments justify themselves and I can see improvement in my skin! Really quite dumb cause I went back for my review and realised I have been applying the products in the wrong sequence! *face palm* no wonder my face quickly lost the glow liao. Plus all the tiny bumps everywhere grr! Why I don't have flawless skin leh why?

So this is how I feel after my first facial session. It is supposed to be an hour long which includes ultrasonic cleansing so the blackheads and comodones can be easily removed, followed by extractions, vitamin C penetration and ending it off with a cooling mask!

The cleansing was really soothing and comfortable cause the therapist is really gentle but the extractions totally up my pain threshold to an all time high la! It was so painful that my back was just sinking into the bed bit by bit. Thereafter, the vitamin C penetration and mask was relaxing enough. The session overran to 1.5hrs and I felt so bad! I figured cause it's my very first facial session and all my 26 yrs of gunk that built up must be quite a bit. Heh.

I reaalllyyy hope my face will clear up after feeding it with so many expensive products and facials! Just give me normal skin can? No need to be glowing and rosy la just free from zits and bumps can liao! Why so difficult!!

Celebrating my 26th :)

Hello November!

Time flies and its 8.5 more weeks to 2015!! How did the year 2014 flew by so fast? Nonetheless can't wait for 2015 to come cause new year means starting everything on a fresher note, better note! :D

Finally have the time to blog about my birthday and how the boy celebrated with me. Hehe. As usual he lets me decide on the dinner venue. :) Wanted to try Pince and Pints but we settled for a more affordable venue which is as good - Platypus Lobster Shack!

Lobster rolls are all over my Ig feed and all looks so enticing and tempting! And I have never had lobster meat before, suaku much? So I bugged the boy to bring us there. Hehe.

So there we were on my birthday eve :) It was a really small place located at China Square but I'm glad we were there early so we got seated quite quickly.

Here's a quick glance at their menu

Testing out Dearie's camera function on his new iphone 6 while waiting for food to be served. So many filters but I love this the most, instantly brightens the whole photo and the colours just look so vivid!

Crustacean Bowl (Starter)
Uni creme, butter-poached lobster, Japonica rice, honey ponzu, caviar, char-grilled cheddar cheese, sesame, chervil

This is really yummy no wonder reviews said this is a must try! Definitely ordering the main portion the next time!

I had the lobster roll set, and chose The Modern, which consist of butter-poached lobster meat, hollandaise, marinated garlic, lemon zest, chillies, Grana Boni cheese, chervil served together with truffle crisps and side salad

And wow, its really huge chunks of lobster meat at every bite no wonder it cost a whopping $23/set!

Dearie had The Spicy Diablo - butter poached lobster, homemade mayonaise, piquant garlic and spice which was equally yummy as well!!

Even though the portion looks tiny, but it managed to fill us up! Then off we go taking a romantic stroll and caught the lightshow at MBS! First time seeing this! Lots of tourists were taking photos so we joined in as well. Hehe.

Wefie with MBS right behind us hehe.

Walked for abit then Dearie insisted we go in to Lady M cause he wants to get me a cake!
And without fail he sings the birthday song~~

And another card to my collection! Scolded the boy for using such a cui photo of me -.-

Anyway, we had the vanilla crepe cake which is their signature cake, it's really creamy and nice but better for sharing, and to have it with a cup of tea! We had it with earl grey and it was nice!

That night definitely felt slower than usual. And we really talked for quite abit. Quality time matters above all! :D

The next day, on my actual birthday, we met up for a quick dinner at Itacho! Quite surprising cause the boy was supposed to be at a project meeting but he managed to sneak off earlier to have dinner with me! It's the thoughts that counts! He never fails to meet me on my actual day cause he does not want me to spend the day alone, other than the one time when he was in NS and it was totally not within his control :)

And he got me a really practical gift! A romoss portable charger! A really powerful charger this one can go up to 2 full charges! I was practically struggling with my cui phone that time as the battery life depletes so fast even when I'm not using it so this gift came super timely!! Major love how he's getting better at gifting now. Hehe. Cause he really just ran out of ideas on what to get for me the past few times and always came to me for ideas on what I need lol. ;) But this time, totally no advises needed from me. :D

Thank you Baby for the wonderful celebration!! To many years of birthday celebrations with you
XOXO
