Adios 2013!

Okay I'm going to be honest here. It's 01.01.2014 today but I'm going to backdate this entry to 31.12.2013 so I can wrap up 2013 nicely. Hehe.

2013 has been really fulfilling from the start till the end!

Firstly, I am really grateful that families and loved ones around me are healthy and safe through the year and I hope it continues in the years ahead!

Secondly, I am really grateful to be given the opportunity to experience and tried something for the first time.
I find this quote extra motivating so I'm going to keep this quote in mind to continue to spur me on.

"What was the last time you did something for the first time?"

In 2013, I travelled to 3 countries. All for the first time. And I felt really blessed and grateful that I am able to travel to all these places with my lover boy :* Step by step, we will conquer the world :)

In Feb 2013, Dearie and I undergo 4 months of LDR. It is not easy but the trust and committment that we have towards the relationship keeps us going. Indeed, this LDR has brought our relationship to a whole new level and left us being more appreciative of each other now. I hope we will never need to go through this kind of distance again. However when it is necessary, I know we will be able to overcome it once again. Because love knows no distance :)

In Apr 2013, I decided to take the leap of faith and travel alone to Beijing to meet the boy just to see how is he adapting over there and also to spend some quality time with him. That 5 days were truly the most heartwrenching.

In Jul 2013, we headed to Hong Kong with his family to fulfil my childhood dream - which is to meet Mickey and Minnie. And I'm so glad he's the one who fulfilled this little dream of mine. :)

In Dec 2013, we concluded the year with a really short and impromptu getaway which was both rejuvenating (cause of the shopping!) and enriching as each travel destination brings about different experiences.

Friendship wise, I am thankful that we are still keeping in close contacts with one another and I have all this lovely friends with me to make my life more colourful and exciting! I certainly hope it will continue till all our hairs turn grey! Cheers to friendship!! And I really hope we will be able to travel together one day!!

Career wise, I am also thankful for the various opportunities and job scopes which I was introduced. I hope to continue to improve myself and to contribute more to the department this year! The year couldn't have gone by so smoothly without my bosses, colleagues who are always there to lend some advises whenever I had doubt.

And with that, I bid goodbye to 2013 and welcome 2014 with wide open hands!

2013 had been awesome but 2014 will definitely be better and brings about more joyous moments!

May all of us be blessed with great health, much wealth, happiness and joy in 2014!!

XOXO

Bangkok Day 4 // Platinum Mall, Again & Homebound //

Last day in Bangkok saw us having breakfast at A&W and headed to Platinum Mall again for some last minute shopping!! We were really competing against time cause we need to check out and leave for the airport at 12pm! Means we need to complete our shopping by 11.30am and head back to the hotel to pack our luggage!

Had this for the last time in Bangkok! Till the next time!

Hands full of bags after 1hr 30 mins! We were very structured this time round. 45 mins for each of us so we really chop chop. See Like Buy. LOL. The biggest haul we thought! Hahs!

Back to hotel! Took some photos since we are done packing! Clever us already packed the night before so it's really just throwing the bags of clothes into our hand carry bags. Easy peasy heh. Pardon me I donno where I was looking LOL.

Too bad we did not have a chance to go for a dip! Next time maybe when it's for a short retreat and not shopping trip hee.

Reached the airport at 1pm and we thought we were kinda early! So we went to shop for tom yum paste and mango sticky rice to bring back home. Guess we were a little too engrossed then cause by the time we realised, it was time for boarding! And they were on the final call! We din even have the luxury of time to claim our VTS and shop at Duty Free!! Just run to the boarding gate and it's freaking far! Unglam until cannotttt and my shoes flew out twice lol.. Poor Dearie got to carry our bags and run as well too.. Really what can I do without him (inserts T.T expression)

Our super shag until cannot face when we were seated. Thank god we did not miss our flight! Phew to the max! Apparently I shared with my colleagues and seems like people are always missing their flight when departing Bkk. Why ah why. LOl.

Totally napped through out the flight and we reached Sg! So fresh looking after the nap haha.

Brought Dearie to have Saboten for dinner in the airport!

My boy eating cheeseeee

Really yummy mango sticky rice which we had when we reached home!

And our combined shopping loots!! Happy until! Hehe!

Another magnet to our collection ;)

Here's a really short video of Dearie pushing me as I sit on top of my luggage on the trolley cause he said it's faster this way. I walk too sloww... HAHA.

Okay yay Bkk travelogue all up! :D:D

Sense of achievement whenever I finish blogging about my travel diaries. Hehe.

This trip was no doubt a very rush one, but also a very much needed one! Hehe. We did not manage to go to the Grand Palace due to the riot, and we did not got to Chatuchak Weekend Market too! And Union Mall! I really want to go to all these places someday when I revisit again!

More trips to come my dear!! :D

Bangkok Day 3 // Terminal 21, MBK, Siam Night Market //

On day 3 of our trip, we woke up slightly later and headed to Roast for brunch! It's our last full day in Bkk! Super sad time flies so fast! :(

Fresh faced ;)

Forced Dearie to take a tourist shot. HAHA.

Streets selling lots of bags! Got pulled away by the boy before I can even take a good look :|

And we reached!

I quite like the location! It's away from the city hustle and bustle. The atmosphere is really relaxing too! I can totally imagine sipping a cup of tea and reading my books there. It attracted more tourists than locals though.

I almost always order English Breakfast Tea for brunch! My favourite hehe.

Dearie's flatwhite

With my crabcake benedict! Super small portion so I kept stealing Dearie's breakfast after I'm done.
>.< It was nice though, cost about $16 I guess.

With ma love :)

See how appetizing Dearie's egg benedict looks! I vow not to be adventurous in my food ordering during trips anymore! I always order the wrong food and ended up stealing from the boy and annoys him. HAHA.

Stopped by Mr Jones Orphanage which was a few steps away for some desserts!

The list of desserts the place offers!

Free props for photo taking hehe.

Boys being boys.

We had Mom's Appie Pie! They are super generous with the apple stuffings! We definitely ended our brunch date on a sweet note hehe.

Terminal 21 after brunch. Not for shopping, but to take photos! This shopping mall has a really cool concept. It houses different country themes for each level.

Lunch at Pier 21, their foodcourt!

The bomb!

Exploring thereafter!

One of the boy's dream destination! We will get there

Seaweed shopping time!

Chanced upon our favourite donut store! First tried it when we were in Taiwan last year!

Went to MBK to grab some food for families back home too. No photos of MBK. Just imagine an IT Mall like Sim Lim Square. Heh. So here's a photo of us. LOL.

Back to Platinum for savoury crepes when night falls. And erm. more shopping.

Remember the phad thai that we got on our first night? We thought it was quite nice so we paid this place a visit, and turns out to be a big mistake! The food was so oily, and does not taste nice at all! :( Should have just stick to our plans and went to the authentic Thai restaurant instead.

The phad thai that night failed badly too.

Then to Siam Night Market for more shopping! This place is our favourite! Both of us bought quite a bit. Hehe. And it's a really looongggg stretch of clothes clothes and more clothes. Imagine my excitement? HAHA.

Dessert time! And to rest our legs!

Back to hotel and saw this! It's like prata stuffed with banana slices, and sprinkle with a dose of condensed milk! Super sinful but yummy!

Also got the Pork Samurai Burger and Corn Pie from Mac! Both not available in Sg but equally yummy! Ended our night munching this and watching National Geographic. Hehe. Life's awesome
