Wrapping Up Lulu's Visit - Two More Days

As I am writing this, Lulu and Molly have brought their playtime inside. They were in the backyard running back and forth and barking at birds. They were having a lot of fun. Then THEY asked to come inside and wouldn't you know it? THEY KEPT PLAYING. Up the stairs, down the hall, down the stairs, and so on. I don't know where they get all that energy. I play sometimes. I run sometimes. But you can count to 10 and I will be DONE.

It is hard to believe that Lulu's time with us is almost up. We really enjoy having her here. She pretty much hangs out with Aunt T and sleeps with her. So each of us dogs have a dedicated HUMAN sleep companion and that gives Sunshine the rest of the house for her MIDNIGHT wanderings. Or whatever she does after we all go to bed. She makes a real show of settling down and yawning and play-sleeping just before bedtime. BUT then I hear her lurking around in the wee hours and I know she is only pretending to join the household in night-night time.

ANYHOW, Lulu loves Molly and waits for her to get up in the am so they can play and chit chat. They spend a lot of time near each other. We all do, as a matter of fact - even tho in the photo below Molly is missing.

I can't even think of any downside of a Lulu visit! We get extra companionship and that's fun. And as a bonus, the "Mommy's gone and I am sad behavior" bribery of the first couple of days means we all get extra treats. And believe me, that is ALWAYS a good thing.

Lulu's huMOM returns on Saturday and I know she cannot wait.

Who's Guilty?

This past weekend was so beautiful. It was clear and warm and yet there was a nice breeze. Welcome the SPRING. It also happens to be wildflower season around here and if you recall, Mommy loves to hike and look at wildflowers. So when Auntie B asked Mommy #2 if she wanted to hike on the weekend, she said SURE!

It was the perfect day for a hike.

Mommy and Auntie B chose the Sunol Regional Wilderness as their hiking spot mostly because it is a great place to see a lot of different wildflowers. They allow dogs there - some of our FURiends from Blogville have hiked there in the past. But Mommy figured the hike would be too hard and it might be a little too warm, so she chose to leave me at home.

I was fine with it, sorta. I love to walk with Mommy and Auntie B and I love the great outdoors, to be sure. But I also cannot walk quite as far as I used to when I was a young puppy. It just seemed better to leave me at home.

They saw a lot of wildflowers

Winter Vetch

California Poppy and Phlox

Yeah, Poppies

A field of poppies

Not only did they see a lot of various wildflowers but they saw a lot of DOGS! Yes, the park was filled with happy pups hiking with their humans. And then Mommy saw a young couple with a small Frenchie in a backpack. And then she remembered SHE HAD BOUGHT ONE TO CARRY ME ON HIKES! Yes, you read that right. She could have totally taken me. I could have walked a while and then when I got too winded, she could have plopped me into the pack. Oh Mommy!

She is feeling a bit bad about that but not so bad the she didn't do it AGAIN!

Check tomorrow to see what I mean.

My New FURiend TINY

We look the same size here, huh?

Anypuggy who knows me knows I like to meet new pups and peeps. I really do. For me LIFE is all about expanding my circle of FURiends. That and TREATS, of course.

So recently Cousin E took me over to her BOYfriend J's house to meet his new puppy TINY. Tiny is about 6 months old now . . . maybe 7 . . . and can finally have visitors. His family is so thrilled to have him as the newest member. They watched Molly and Me last year when the whole family went to New Mexico for a wedding and afterward they SO WANTED a pet of their own. We were THAT good.

I don't know the breed that TINY belongs to - He is a mix of different doggies but, alas, no pug. His coloring is reminiscent of a BEAGLE, huh? But he has no Beagle that anyone is aware of. That is often the case of rescue dogs - which he totally is - because no one is sure what kind of breeds of which the pawrents are comprised. No matter, he is cute and funny and THAT is what the family wanted.
Oh hello. My name is Noodles

So on this particular day I went over to BOYfriend J's house and spent the afternoon getting to know Tiny. We said hello and sniffed a little. I don't like being sniffed a whole lot so we just did quick gettin'-to'know- you kinda sniffs. Then we stared at each other. Then Tiny barked. And he barked. AND HE BARKED! He reminded me of Molly in that way. She is a barking fool.

Oh! NOW I see why you are called TINY

Like I said, I spent the afternoon at Tiny's place although we did not play. He does not really know how to play yet. I suggested PUPPY CLASSES for him and perhaps some intense dog park action. That way he knows about other DOGS and learns to relate to them. Socialization is very important.

But he is a good doggie and is coming along nicely. He is sorta behaved in a puppy way and he is real cute. I think he will be a great addition for BOYfriend J's family for a long time to come. AND I am glad to finally have a chance to meet him.

And now for another of my 100 AFFIRMATIONS

Wonderful FURiends

So. . . I was sitting by the Christmas tree the other night . . . just pondering this and that. When it occurred to me - I have some really good FURiends ALL of whom I met in Blogville! Isn't that amazing? There are times I am down and YOU, my FURiends are there to pick me up. There are times I am puzzled - and you give me solid advice. There are times I just want to be SILLY and you, MY FURiends, let me be silly. It is something I never expected and something I truly cherish.

I need to call Sandy Paws right away and let him know I have everything I ever wanted RIGHT NOW.

Sadness Overload

Hi everyPUGGY! I am very very sad today and cannot really shake my frown. I lost a couple of very very dear FURiends this weekend and it was/is just too much for me to handle.

First of all - from Blogville we lost Pip. He was a great doggie - and a FURiend to all of us. We went on many adventures with him because he shared each and wonderful moment. We laughed at his antics and rallied behind his causes. Pip was just plain FUN. He will be sorely missed by all of us in Blogville.

Secondly, my Mommy #2 lost a really dear friend of hers. I met this friend - she was really nice and even pet me some. She was a CAT lover but she didn't let that get in the way of showing me a lot of love. She will be missed by us all.

Hopefully tomorrow my smile will return and I will tell you all about my weekend adventure. It coincides with my FORGOTTEN (ahem) Gotcha Day last week! Actually, Molly's and mine are pretty close together and NO ONE in the house took notice that they had passed. So WE are celebrating this week with a giveaway.

Check back tomorrow for the details.

What's the Buzz? Tell Me What's Happenin' . . .

This is an oldie but goodie. I wonder where that costume went to? It fit me like a GLOVE.

But I digress.

Can somePUGGY tell me what in the WIDE WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS is going on these days? I am flummoxed, and not in a good way.

Such as - what is up with this weather? Hot one week, cold and rainy the next. I live in NorCal where we have one of the best and most regular climates ANYWHERE and even I don't recognize it lately. I am CHILLED to the furs this morning and just 2 days ago I was ready for a cooling vest.

Then there is the Four CORNERS area where it keeps raining and is flooding like crazy (be safe my FURiends there). My Grandma S, Auntie L and Uncle K live in the area in the New Mexico corner and I am so worried about them, as well. And not one month ago they had SNOW!

I need to talk to Mother Nature STAT and get her straightened out now! This cannot keep happening.

Then there are all those FIRES. We had one not 50 miles from our casa. The smoke column was not only visible from my area, but it settled in our valley making the air dangerous. And today I heard the Boardwalk in New Jersey burned down. That is scary stuff!

What's a PUGGY to do?

On the BRIGHT SIDE, I received ANOTHER package yesterday which I will be reporting on NEXT WEEK. Hold on to your harnesses, it's gonna be a DOOZY.

I might be exaggerating a little there - but it will be interesting, I promise.

In any case - stay safe My FURIENDS because without you, well I'd be lost. Have a GREAT WEEKEND!

Top Dog in the CARD Department

These are all for ME and MOLLY

I don't mean to brag, but I am WAY ahead in the Christmas Card Regatta at our house. Look at all those cards from MY FURIENDS. . . I see Winston Wilbur and his new brother Sam Cooper, I see my buddy FURever Bellatrix, and look in the corner, there is Scarlett! So many - I loves loves loves them all.

See my SAD tail. . . no CURL!!!!!
I'd show you the PITIFULLY SMALL pile of Christmas Cards the rest of the family has received . . . but I think it would make you CRY.
