New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!

We have a new fun challenge for you at Time Out; it's a photo inspiration challenge, but you can also use it simply as a coffee themed challenge. You could also be inspired by some elements in the photo AND coffee, which is what I have done with my card!

This card is actually taken by me on my work trip to New York on spring 2023. I was fortunate enough to meet my good friend and our Time Out general manager Stephanie during my trip! We where together when we bumped into this sign outside a cafe and thought it would be a perfect coffee themed photo inspiration! I hope you'll agree and join us!

Our winner receives a prize from Newton's Nook and also gets called to guest design in a future challenge. This time our GD is the talented Heidi Kunkel and she has made a wonderfully colorful card for us. Don't miss her inspiration or any of the challenge details, click HERE

I used a stamp set by Simon Says Stamp in my card. I've stamped everything with white Hero Arts pigment ink on black card for sort of a chalkboard look. My only embellishment is a die cut, red heart. I quite like how this simple card came together!

Thank you for popping by and I hope to see you joining us!

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!

I'm here with my DT card for Time Out, where we have one of our Inspired by Words challenges for you.The quote for your inspiration is:

'As long as autumn lasts, I shall not have hands,
canvas and colors enough to paint the beautiful things I see'
Vincent Van Gogh

You could be inspired by the whole quote or just use one word or some words as your starting point. Using only words like "hands" or "canvas" can take your card to a very different direction than making an autumn inspired card!

Our wonderful sponsor is Poppy StampsThey're generously offering a $20 store credit to our challenge winner, chosen by the DT. Our winner also gets called to guest design in an future challenge and this time we are joined by Deborah Wheeler of Deborah's Crafty Blog. Do not miss any of the challenge details,  Deborah's elegant card or any DT inspiration, click HERE!

I've made a fall inspired shaker card with a large maple leaf die from Concord and 9th. The background is an alcohol ink + foil background and my shaker elements are pretty sparkly too... So this card has a lot of shine!

I hope to see you playing a long at Time Out, I look forward seeing what you'll create! Happy crafting!

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends,

today I'm here with a quick post with my DT card for Time Out Challenges! We are having our annual Friendship/Encouragement/Support challenge, which is one of my favorite challenges of the year. This year I decided to "send a virtual hug" with Altenew products... I've cut the floral panel out of black card stock and attached it on an alcohol ink background that also has some gold foil on it. This card has beautiful shine IRL. The base card is embossed with an old folder from my stash, no idea of the maker of that unfortunately.

Please head on over to our challenge blog for all the challenge details and lots of DT inspiration! This time Uniko sponsors the challenge with a coupon to our winner. The winner also gets called to guest design in a future challenge and this time our GD is the very talented Nancy Leppek.

I look forward seeing you joining us!

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!

I'm here with my DT card for Time Out Challenges, where we have a fun photo inspiration for you! Have a look:

I decided to use my Altenew Lemon Craze stencil, but in all honesty I'm unsure if there is any lemons in this photo... So I made them a bit orange-y to reflect the colors of the photo better! Sentiment is by Altenew as well (Zesty Life) and so fun I think!

Make sure to check out all the challenge details and lots of more DT inspiration HEREOur wonderful sponsor is Graciellie Design with a generous prize of a $25.00 store credit for our challenge winner. Our winner also gets called to guest design in the future and this time our talented, wonderful guest is Steff Perry with a very adorable card! Don't miss it!

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hello friends!

I'm back with a DT card for Time Out Challenges where we have one of our Inspired by Words challenges this week. The quote is:

"It's always summer somewhere"

In our Inspired by Words challenges you can be inspired of the whole quote or just pick one word/some words as your starting point. For example this time some less obvious interpretations could be "I'll always love you"-theme or "Somewhere over the rainbow". Simply let us know how you were inspired if it's less than obvious!

Along with the sponsor prize, our winner gets to guest design in a future challenge. This time our GD is the talented Betty Keefe with a stunning floral creation. Don't miss Betty's card, all the challenge details and DT inspiration, click HERE.

In my card I've used dies and stamps from Honey Bee Stamps for a beachy, tropical sunset card! The background is made with masking and inking. I created the mask with torn washi tape for giving torn edges to my sort of rectangle. Got this tip from a fab youtube channel, NB Cards! The palm trees I've cut from colored card stock an added some ink for extra detail. Hammock and pillows are cut from patterned paper. I hope you like this card and thanks for popping by!

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!

I'm here with my DT card for the new challenge at Time Out where we challenge you to be "On Vacation"! As you can see from the badge this can go to many, many directions... And our challenge blog is filled with beautiful DT samples from our regular DT members and our very talented guest Claire. Our sponsor this time is Varada Sharma with a generous $25 coupon to her store!

Don't miss any of the inspiration or challenge details, click HERE.

I used dies and sentiment stamp from Honey Bee Stamps with scraps of patterned paper. I even found pretty good paper for sand and sea in my stash! I tore the sea paper edge to look like foamy waves touching the sand.

This was a quick make so I didn't ink any of the die cut edges this time. I do like how sharp this looks but I can't wait to see how the die cuts will look a bit more shaded next time!

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!

I'm here with my DT card for Time Out where we have a theme challenge for you for the next fortnight! The theme is "Seeing Stars".

Picket Fence Studios generously sponsors our challenge with a $25 coupon to our winner. Our winner also gets called to guest design for us in the future and this time our talented GD is Simeen! You can check out Simeen's fun star shaker card in Instagram HERE

I realized I didn't have much star stamps or dies that would have inspired me! I found some star patterned paper and wanted to play with that instead. I decided to die cut letters from the paper to use the star theme in a very subtle and less obvious way. In addition to the stars, the paper had a pattern that reminded me of honeycomb pattern and there I got the idea to make my card Bee-themed. So stars and bees! :) The bee stamp comes from Funky Fossil designs and the letter dies are from Marianne Design.

Thank you for popping by and I hope to see you joining us at Time Out Challenges!

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!

I'm back with a quick post to share my DT card for the new challenge at Time Out.

It's time for one of our Inspired by Words challenges. You can be inspired by the whole quote or just choose one words/some words from it as your starting point.

The quote is:

“There are always flowers for those who want to see them.”– Henri Matisse

I have used Altenew  Deco Cover die setVersatile Greetings die set and Decorative Florals 3d embossing folder in creating my card. I used acetate as my card base to really showcase the delicate frame. The florals are embossed on gold card stock and I then gently wiped white pigment ink on top. I set the ink by heat embossing it with clear sparkly powder. This card is very glitzy! Is that even a word lol!

I hope to see you joining us!

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hello friends!
We are back with a new challenge at Time Out Challenges and this time we challenge you to be Magical!

There's many many ways how to interpret this challenge. Our DT and guest designer Carol have made fabulous samples for you -don't miss them or any of the challenge details, click HERE

The winner of our challenge gets called to guest design in a future challenge and also wins a generous $25 gift card to Picket Fence Studios

I was in need of a card for a new baby... I don't often make baby cards and don't really have stamps and dies that are specifically for babies... But I think this unicorn stamp from Avery Elle worked quite well (and unicorns are certainly magical too!). I combined it with some patterned paper from my stash and gave the image some color with Copics and LOTS of sparkle with Stickles. Love how it turned out! I've had this arch die from Spellbinders for some months now and I seem to use it every second card that I make... I really love it!

Thank you for popping by and I hope to see you playing along at Time Out!

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!

I'm here with a quick post to tell you about our new challenge at Time Out! For the next fortnight our theme is Alphabet Magnet Day.

Although traditionally, we might think of magnetic letters as a children’s toy, the first known magnetic letters were actually created for the space industry. Click HERE for a bit of history behind the magnetic letters that have been decorating the faces of refrigerators for 50 years.

For this challenge you can for example use letter dies, large word dies, patterned paper with writing as focal point, embossing folders with letters or large words... many possibilities!

For my card I used supplies form our sponsor Altenew: JOY-die and coordinating stencils and Festive Greenery embossing folder. The embossing folder has coordinating stencils too, but to make my card front mimic a fridge door more, I left it white lol!

I hope to see you playing along. In addition to the Altenew prize, our winner also gets called to guest design in the future. This time our guest is the very talented Carol from Saw it. Had to Make it.  She made two amazing cards for our inspiration! Don't miss Carol's card, more DT inspiration and all the challenge details, click HERE.

New Challenge t Time Out!

Hi friends!

I'm here with a DT card for our new challenge at Time Out. For the next fortnight we have a photo challenge for you and this time it's an extra special one: we are inspired by a purse by Running Stitch Design and this purse will also be the prize for our winner! How fun is that! Running Stitch Design is owned by one of our former DT members Kim and we are very happy to collaborate with her in this challenge.  Our winner also gets called to guest design in a future challenge and this time it's the super talented Cornelia -do visit her amazing blog!

My card might look very different from the purse with a quick glance, but I was actually inspired by the blue dots in the fabric (I used LOADS of them lol) and of the stripes of the brown fabric (have a look at my background paper, lots of stripes there!).

The flower stamps and coordinating coloring stencils are by Altenew and so is the sentiment.

The dot stencil for the background comes from Hero Arts.

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!

At Time Out Challenges we are back with another fun challenge! For the next fortnight we challenge you to be "Striped".

I wish I would have had a zebra stamp or die, that would have been perfect!! I opted for some striped patterned paper instead and made a summery card with Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers Strawberry dies as the main star of my card. They were fun to cut out and ink up with various Altenew inks. The photo is a bit washed out, but I added some purple to the strawberries and leaves and it made them look a lot more realistic and beautiful. Love these dies!

I hope to see you playing along. Our winner recieves a $25 coupon to our fab sponsor Lawn Fawn... And also gets called to guest design in a future challenge. This time our talented GD is Karen Rodgers. Do not miss her wonderful card or any of the DT inspiration and challenge details... Click HERE!

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!
I'm here with my DT card for the new challenge at Time Out! Our challenge this fortnight is a very special one, it is a collaboration challenge with Just Us Girls Challenge BlogBy entering our challenge you will automatically also join Just Us Girls Challenge. That means your project will gain twice the visibility... You will double your chances to be chosen as a design team favorite and your project may be showcased in one or both of the challenge blogs. Whether you join from Time Out or from Just Us Girls, you also have a chance to win $25.00 store credit to Waffle Flower Crafts. The theme of the challenge is

Birds of Feather

In my card I've used products from our fabulous sponsor Waffle Flower Crafts. The stunning parrot and the leave dies come from Tropical Kit die set. The background is made with Pop Up Tropical Leaves Texture die and matching Duo-Tone Tropical Leaves stencil set. The white heat embossed and die cut sentiment comes from a flower stamp set Sunflower Love. Waffle Flower Crafts truly is one of my favorite companies -I'm ready to say I've never made a card with their products that I've not loved loved loved! This one is no exception!!

For the background and die cut leaves I used grey card stock and some greyish Altenew inks. I love the contrast between the parrot and the grey die cuts -I didn't use any inking for the parrot but he is cut from solid card stock pieces. I'm almost certain my parrot is a he! The sassy hair has a manly vibe to me! :) I hope that's ok for our "Birds of Feather" challenge lol. :)

New Post at Time Out!

Hello friends!
Our new challenge at Time Out is a very fun one. Because we go live on a Leap Day, we have chosen a fun photo with a frog for your inspiration! Do note though that you do not need to use a frog for the challenge -you can be inspired by the colors, shapes, patterns of the photo or just see where the photo leads you! We look forward seeing your creative takes! Lots of DT inspiration and all the challenge details HERE. This time Vicki joins us as guest designer and you do not want to miss her fun and playful card!

The butterfly dies in my card come from our sponsor Lawn Fawn. I used sparkly, mirror type speciality card for cutting the details for the wings, thinking about the colors and textures of the photo. The background was inspired by "bubbles" on the the black platform the frog is sitting on -I used a Jane's Doodles stencil and clear sparkly embossing powder for creating it. The sentiment is a ready made sentiment strip from a local store.

Before I go I unfortunately need to let you all know that this is the last challenge where Gerrina will be part of our design team. Gerrina has created inspiration for Time Out for all of our existence, for 10 years... Which is quite an achievement and not something many crafters have done for one design team. We are truly grateful for Gerrina for all of her hard work and dedication. Thank you for the 10 years together, Gerrina! We'd love you to head on over to Gerrina's blog and let her know how much her artsy work has been appreciated over the years.

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!
At Time Out Challenges we have a very special post for you today. We are celebrating our 10th birthday. Yes, 10th!! We therefore have 10 sponsor prizes for grabs... And also as a special treat Time Out co-founder Sandie is joining us in the fun. Head on over to Time Out Challenges for all the challenge details and lots of inspiration!

I wanted to play with an Altenew image (they are one of our sponsors) and I decided to choose one from my stash that I hadn't ever colored in yet. I've made several cards with this stamp but always using the coloring stencils. Coloring in your images of course makes more time... But it is so relaxing for me and always makes me feel very creative. My plan for 2024 is to find more time for coloring in!

For the sunflowers, their leaves and tulip leaves I used my new Altenew watercolor brush markers -love love love them. I have the winter- and spring sets. Such a beautiful product!! For the tulips and small flowers I had to grab some other mediums to have suitable colors for Altenew February Inspiration challenge color palette -this obviously means I need more of those water color brush markers, right?!? :)

I hope to see you playing along at Time Out.

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!
At Time Out we have a special challenge for you: We are CASEing a card by Sarah Gray, owner of Funky Fossil Designs (also the sponsor of this challenge). Sarah card is super inspiring with a wonderful artsy theme -make sure to head on over to our challenge blog for more DT inspiration and more ideas on how to CASE Sarah's card. All the prize and challenge details are to be found there too. Our talented GD this time is Carol McFarland and you do not want to miss her fun card!

I chose to CASE the layout of Sarah card and also used a splatter stencil in a similar way she did. The outline stamp is by Funky Fossil Designs and is called Lotus Reflections -isn't it gorgeous? The stamp set has a large stamp and a separate lotus flower -both are used here. I did some minor masking for the design in the top left corner. The splatter stencil I used is super old  and I have forgotten the maker of it. Love the style of the splatters in this stencil!

I hope to see you playing along.

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!

I'm here with my DT card for the new challenge at Time Out, where we are Inspired by Words this time. What we have for you is a little haiku!

   “Winter solitude-
in a world of one colour
the sound of the wind.”

 -Matsuo Basho-

Please head on over to our challenge blog for all the challenge details, prize information and lots of more DT inspiration. This time our inspiring GD is Fran Wing and you do not want to miss the elegant, beautiful card that she made!

I decided to make a one color birthday card with wintry feel... An almost white on white design with just a grey card base and sentiment on  grey card stock. Grey is a neutral so I'm thinking this can still count as a white on white/ one color card! At least almost lol!

The cute bird dies come from Lawn Fawn, the poinsettia circle is a Memory Box die. One of my absolutely favorite crafting materials is white glitter card stock so making this card made me very happy! A lot of white glitter card was used. :)

I'm joining:

Reminder for Time Out Challenges

Hi friends!

I'm popping in with a quick post to remind you of our challenge at Time Out! We normally post winners every other Thursday, but due to our little Christmas break we had no winners to announce today... So we decided to remind you of the current challenge!

So, the challenge is NEW. You could use new products, play with a new technique, work around the theme New (like New baby or New Year)... Many possibilities here!

I decided to play with a new stamp. This image was designed for Creative Expressions by the talented Jane Beljo of Jane's Doodles. I love her work and can't wait to use all of the stamps I bought from this new line of hers!

I recently watched some old videos from Online Card Classes and there was a card that inspired this one -it also had a background made out of snippets and with some white embossed houses. This was quick and fun to make! I added a die cut sentiment by STAMPlorations.

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out... and very appropriately for new year we are challenging you to be NEW. :)

This is a special challenge because we are also introducing two new DT members, Greta and Helen! Please head on over or our challenge blog for all the news, challenge information and lots of DT inspiration!

I tried two new (to me) things in this card:

-double embossing with glitter embossing powder for the Gina K feather die cut
-black on black raised die cut background

I wanted to use a WOW embossing glitter I had purchased and never tried (oh so that was new too!) and I wanted to make this very sturdy and thickly embossed die cut with it... So I embossed the die cut with the powder twice.  A simple technique many of you have probably done many many times but for me this was a first try lol! The photo doesn't do justice to the color and shine of the feather.

I pretty often cut white cover plate backgrounds, glue them on another piece of white card and then use those as backgrounds... So I wanted to see how that would look with black card. Very cool I think! I definitely want to try this with other colors too -no idea why I have only done this with white card this far! This cover plate die is by Winnie and Walter, sadly no longer running. The sentiment is by Altenew.

Thank you for popping by and I hope to see you joining us!
