So after all the submission of election slips and the interviews, here are the candidates who will be up for the Administrative Committee Election held on 31st May 2011, 2pm at LT2. President Leow Wei Kai Zhang Zhe Xian Vice-President JH: Sumithri Rekha V SH: Alicia Lim Sharifah Nur' Aiysah Leow Wei Kai Zhang Zhe Xian Secretary JH: Chen Ruilin Ng Ling Yan SH: Brian Foo Florence Ting Ng Ming Zhen Tok Swee Hwa Treasurer JH: Yang Le Ng Ling Yan SH: Erina Tan Alicia Lim Tok Swee Hwa Quarter Master/Mistress JH: Tan Weijin Yang Le SH: Florence Ting Ng Ming Zhen The order of speeches will be in the order that is presented above. Speeches for the presidents will go first, followed by the rest of the positions in JH Admin Committee and finally the SH Admin Committee.
Instructions for candidates: 1) Please prepare a 2 minute speech for your FIRST CHOICE of ADMINISTRATIVE COMMITTEE position. This will serve to convince the whole choir to vote for you. Your speech must include the following (not in an specific order): - What are the qualities you posses that will enable you to be the best person for the position? - What are your reasons for wanting to serve that position? - What is your vision for the choir and how do you plan to realise it? 2) For every position, there will be 15 minutes of Q&A for members to clarify their doubts. 3) All candidates are to prepare a speech, regardless of how many candidates are running for the position. All the best to the candidates who have managed to get to the election round and the current Choir committee was glad to see how many of you really wanted to serve the choir. =) For the rest who are not in the running for any position, do remember that every vote counts so do vote wisely. Angel and Mortal Hello!:) I'm sure most of us would have received letters/gifts from our angels:) But since there wasnt really much briefing given, i hope that this post would make the game a lot clearer. Ok so what is Angel & Mortal about? 1) Find out who your mortal is from the red piece of paper under your warm and fuzzy booklet (if you have problems with this please look for andrea:)) 2) Find out who this person is if you have never heard this name in your life before 3) Shower him/her with loads of love and care and concern:) 4) The floral print dustbin and basket are for both angels and mortals to put in notes/thank you notes/gifts/thankyougifts for your mortals/angels 5) This means that everyone in choir is BOTH an angel and mortal AT THE SAME TIME 6) It's a TWO way system! you can talk and be nice to BOTH your angel and your mortal So! regularly check for things from both your angel and your mortal:) That's all there is actually! haha but the fun comes in when you try to find out who your angel is!:) However, there are some extreme views which need to be corrected Firstly, it's just a game... haha so don't take it too seriously by that i mean buy your mortal a ferrari or like spend $2000 on their gifts... Haha but a nice box of lozenges or a customized note will be nice:) Secondly, this game works purely on trust. All of us will be someone else's angel, so if you don't do someting special for your mortal, it'll be extremely extremely sad for your mortal:( Imagine if you see other people getting gifts/nice notes and you sit their watching others' sad expression:(( It's HORRIBLE:( To add on, your mortal would have been someone else's angel. Therefore, if he/she has done his/her part as an angel, he/she should not have to endure the cruel fate:( So what now? 1) The game continues! if you haven't done anything yet please do try to do so:) it'll go on till a while after syf... And if you feel like doing more for your mortal please do so!:) 2) As syf draws near, we really hope that this system will be able to help us encourage each other and pull one another through this difficult period:) 3) Please DON'T try to reveal your identity as angels... if you have done so i guess it's perfectly fine... just that the mystery is gone haha... 4) Please don't be too stressed out by this i really hope that doing nice things don't put all of us under too much stress... Should be ok right? all choir people are nice people afterall:) shouldn't need much effort:) Any questions or EXTREME objections/unhappiness please approach anyone in comm:) Anyways, i hope that this angel and mortal system will be able to help us through SYF and whatever comes after:) LET GWH FOR SYF TOGETHER NJCHOIR FTW<3 2:06 PM

Don't Neglect your VOCAL CHORDS/ THROATS!    Hi all!
As our very big day draws near, it's time we all ensure that we take care of our voices and not let them go running wild. Our kind senior Xiang Ting has picked out an article for us from the papers and it has really valuable advices/ information that will help all of us to protect our voices :) Please do look through the article, you know you want to! NJ Choir this is our very very last lap, we've got to persevere together and improve at exponential rates! We CAN, and we WILL get there! Remember, take care of yourselves, your voices, your health. Hi guys!!! Good job for the Workshop with Mr Turunen yesterday. Although there are still improvements to be made, all of us were responsive despite having a whole day programme. Keep up the good work and be more sharp and alert for Mr Paulo's workshop at St' Nicholas Girls' School tomorrow.
