A squirrel feasting on the sunflower seeds below our bird feeders.

Seed Thief

We did not have gray squirrels on Whidbey Island when I was growing up here. In the last decade, they have invaded and driven off the Townsend's Chipmunk.

Squirrel Nest

I had walked by this nest almost daily and assumed it was home for a bird, 

until one morning I watched this gray squirrel scamper along the fence and then up into the nest.
