Memorial Day

Just to say that Radio 3's breakfast programme today, live from Auschwitz, was a simply wonderful broadcast, one of the finest, most beautiful and moving I have ever heard. Presenter Petroc Trelawny is shaping up to be a truly great radio broadcaster – and the music, and the stories told... Sometimes it was almost unbearable, but it was a magnificent, memorable piece of radio. If you missed it, it should be possible to find it on BBC Sounds.

  1. A moving programme indeed as was the BBC2 programme The Last Musician of Auschwitz.
I shall be sorry when Petroc Trelawny moves from Radio 3’s Breakfast, which he has presented since 2011. I expect I shall get used to Tom McKinney in time.

  3. Thanks, Charmaine. I'm catching up with The Last Musician on iPlayer – moving indeed, and what an amazing woman Anita Lasker-Wallfisch is. Meanwhile I'm finding it very hard to be at all hopeful about Tom McKinney...
