Yes, I know. This is WAY, WAY, WAY overdue.
I mean, I've been talking about doing a reviewer appreciation giveaway since April. But if you've been reading this blog over the last few months, well, you know that things got a bit crazy around here, and, well. My prizes kinda-sorta disappeared into a moving box for a little while.
But fear not. They have been found! And the giveaway is here and officially starts TODAY!!!
Take a look at these fab prizes:
In honor of Water So Deep, this fabulous Bella Del Mar Mother of Pearl jewelry set is beaded with tiny white pearls, and accented with clear crystal quartz. This set comes in a beautiful display box and includes a gorgeous necklace, bracelet, and earrings, and is a $95 value. (The crystals look slightly blue in this picture, but they are really mostly clear.)
Also in honor of Water So Deep, this stylish and trendy Refuse to Sink bracelet, still attached to the manufacturer packaging.
In honor of Descendant and Birthright, this lovely crystal quartz healing crystal necklace was custom made by Zuniga's Custom Jewelry. (She makes some of my very favorite original pieces.) Also in packaging.
To enter, all you have to do is leave a review of one of my books on your favorite review site (there are tons of choices) and then come back here and leave the link in the Rafflecopter link box. IF YOU HAVE ALREADY LEFT A REVIEW, it's okay. This contest is MEANT for YOU! Go ahead and leave me the link to your already posted review and you do not need to do anything more.
You will see that there are lots of places where reviews can be left for each of my books. In case you're wondering, YES, it is totally okay to copy and paste one review to ALL THE PLACES if you so choose. As long as you remember to collect the link and enter it into the Rafflecopter box, it totally counts.
This contest closes on June 30, so be sure to enter before then.
*Winners will be notified by email ir FB private message (depending on the information included through Rafflecopter) and will have 72 hours to respond with a U.S. mailing address. If you are out of the United States, you are still eligible to win the bracelet or healing crystal, but not the larger set. Prizes may be adjusted as necessary for this purpose.
**United States prizewinners may be given the option to trade their jewelry prize for a paperback or ebook copy of any of my books. International prizewinners wishing to exchange their prize will be given the option for an ebook.
Also, while you're entering contests, don't forget to scroll to the post below this one and follow the link to the other fabulous contest for the Magic of Solstice Fantasy Writers' tour I'm participating in this month.
Good luck to all of you, and THANK YOU SO MUCH for your fabulous support. I couldn't do what I do without all of you.

Happy Birthday to Me (and Some Celebrating)
They say it's my birthday. Da-na-na-na-na. It's your birthday too...
Wait. Maybe not. But we can pretend, right? I'm pretty good at sharing, usually. Why not? You can take that extra year and I'll keep the party. Sound good? Deal then.
Anyway, I had a post all ready for today, and then I realized that, ahem, today is a day I should be celebrating. Because I feel like it. And because most years I try to skip right over this day and not make a big deal about it and blah blah. But not this year. This year I'm already giving away prizes and gifts and doing fun things to celebrate (it's not too late to enter!) so I figure I might as well go all the way.
Virtual cookies all around! Party hats and all that jazz.
No gifts required.
However, if you absolutely insist ... if you must offer a gift, read my book and then leave a review. Help spread the word on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Goodreads, Shelfari, and Book Depository.
In the current market, reviews are one of the most effective helps you can offer to a new author. Two sentences is all we need, and those same sentences can be copied and pasted in each different venue. And what I want most for the coming year is to grow and expand my career. So yeah. Two sentences, five minutes. That's all. And if you do it by the end of today, July 9th, 2013, YOU get presents.
*clinks glass with a butter knife*
Regardless of the previous paragraph in which I contradict myself by saying no gifts, and then telling you what you can give me, I want to make a virtual Dr. Pepper toast.
Thank you! Thanks for reading and for continuing to come back here and see what I have to say and for giving me a reason to keep writing and keep blogging and just altogether keep on going down this path. I *heart* you all to the moon and back, and I can't wait to see what this next year brings!

Awesome Books WEEK!!! (And yet ANOTHER contest.)
OH. My. Gosh. You guys!
Have you seen the awesome that has
been released this week? And by awesome, I mean books, of course. There are so
many, and I am excited for every one. SO EXCITED. Like, majorly. BIG TIME. Enough
to use three exclamation points in the title of this post, and I never condone
actions like that. That is how stoked I am.
Also, I am so very bummed, because
all these releases mean launch parties in places where I am not, and so I will
be missing some seriously stellar events. There will be tears. No avoiding it.
But I am still so excited about these books that I just have to share them with
all of you. Because, seriously, if I can’t be to the events, the least I can do
is cyber-celebrate.
And because I can’t be with the
authors on their big days, I think a little drawing thingie is in order. Here’s
what I’m thinking. I want pictures. Send me a picture of you and YOUR copy of
any of the following books (or all of them!) and I will enter you into a drawing
to win one FREE e-copy of my book, DESCENDANT. That’s right. FREE! You can send
me your pics via Facebook or Twitter (tag me using my handle @nicholegiles), or
email me at writenichole @ gmail . com by no later than midnight on Saturday,
June 8th, and I will draw a random winner. Winner will be announced Wednesday,
June 12th- -ish. One entry per book purchased (if you buy all of
them, you’ll have an entry for all!). Open internationally.
Deal? Okay then.
Here are your options:
Happy reading, happy buying, and…oh,
um, happy June!

And these?
These are books I’m giving away. Two lots of three, (the books in the YA lot are all signed—yes, even Leviathan) and to one lucky winner, a signed poster from the Fierce Reads tour.

However, if you want to share the love by spreading the word on your blog, or Facebook, Twitter, LinkdIn, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram—wherever, I’ll give you an extra entry for each. Because I’m nice like that. On your honor. (Just know that if you say you did something, and really didn’t, Karma will come down on your head, and believe me, you don’t want that. She’s not nice when she’s angry. I’m just sayin.) (Also, feel free to tag me on FB, @ me on Twitter, or whatever whatever—I’ll come say hi.)
I’ll use the random generator to choose the winners, and try to get them posted next week, Monday-ish. This contest will run from today, September 24th until Saturday September 29th at Midnight, Mountain Time. When You’re High on Cold Meds
You really shouldn’t make important online transactions.
For the last two weeks I’ve had an ongoing, long-lasting cold that I just can’t seem to get rid of, despite my doctor prescribing an antibiotic and my going a little nuts on vitamin supplements and probiotics. It’s all good, though. I have an economy size box of Sudafed, another one of Nyquil, and an ample supply of tissues.
As it happened, last week was a really busy one for me, and while I canceled a number of things, I couldn’t cancel or rearrange them all.
For example, paying bills. None of those big companies cared that I was dying, as long as they got their money.
Apparently, sometime on Thursday, at a time when I must have been high on cold meds, I paid my mortgage. Saturday, I had no recollection of such an event. (Even today, I have no recollection of it.) And so, worried that I had forgotten, I went online and made the payment.
It wasn’t until I thought to double check my bank balance that I realized my massive error.
I paid my biggest, most overwhelming bill twice.
Oops.
And still, I have no idea when on Thursday I made that payment. But according to my online statement, I did pay it that day.
Note to self: When you’re living on cold meds, you are not as lucid as you think. Just. Stick to email and Facebook and don’t do anything else, okay? Okay. Oh, and also, you should call the bank now.
**Because of last week’s illness, and my lack of publicity attempts, I have decided to extend out the deadline for the October Give Back Giveaway until midnight, Friday Oct 21. Enter here if you’ve done something nice this month.

One Day Special: Win the Coolest Prize Ever
Well. Clearly, this is a week for contests. Because while tomorrow I will be jumping into this Deathly Hallows, Part 2 celebration, today I am having a one-day only hurry and throw me an answer giveaway.
Because Saturday was my birthday, and I feel like giving away fun stuff to my friends. Also, I don’t have a clue what to blog about right now, because my brain is still full of cheese and chocolate fondue from The Melting Pot. So why not just give stuff to people, right?
Tomorrow’s contest will be easy, so because of that, I think today’s will have to be harder. BUT it will be worth it. Because the winner will come away with a handful of very fun prizes.
Check these out!
Okay, what you're looking at is probably the most random collection of prizes I've ever given away. But they all have a story. Well, all except that giant Tootsie Roll paper clip. I probably just bought it because it was cool. So, the dolphin bookmark (plush, by the way) came from Sea World, the wooden surfboard bookmark came from Hawaii, and the sombrero-guy pen came from San Antonio. At some point (as you can see) I used to buy this stuff every time I went somewhere. But then I never gave them away until now. So. Also, to sweeten the deal, I'm going to throw in a bag of these.
You know you’re dying to win this prize!! (Because who wouldn't want a bunch of useless, but silly stuff like this?)
So here is the question with a little lead up info: Two Julys ago, for my birthday my husband got me the most fabulous pink netbook (which I still use for hours EVERY DAY). Last year, he got me a Kindle (which I also use quite a lot). What could he have given me this year that could compete with those two gifts and make me squeal with delight? (Freebee: It’s NOT an iPad. Hint: it will be good for my career as a writer, and will make me most happy around mid-August.)
Just throw your answers into a comment and tomorrow, I’ll tell you who (if anyone) wins!
*dances around in excitement*

Totally Awesome Harry Potter Blog Party and Contests.
Okay, peeps, I know it’s Sunday, and I usually take Sundays off, but I have to make an exception this week. As you know (or should know—if you don’t, have you been living in space or something?) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part 2 is coming out way soon, and I’m joining a huge online party to celebrate.
Guess what? You’re invited to play! I'm a sponsor, so you’ll want to be sure to come visit my blog on TUESDAY—which is another day I don’t usually post. (Clearly, I’m feeling rebellious this week!) I will be giving away another $10 iTunes giftcard so the winner can purchase Harry Potter media (music, MP4 movies, audio books, etc).
Here are the basic deets:
Our party starts on Monday, July 11th and goes through Friday, July 15th.
Here are some basic instructions. At the very end, I'll tell you how you can get started earning entries for prizes today!
How do you participate?
• Visit Inksplasher every day of the party and play our Party Games!
• There will be multiple posts and ways to enter to win each day, with specific instructions, deadlines, and actions posted—so read each post carefully.
• Most posts/entries will require you to email your name AND COMPLETE MAILING ADDRESS to kbrowning59 [at] gmail [d0t]com .
• Don’t worry, all personal info will magically disappear at the end of the contest. You won’t be added to any spam lists. Promise.
• All winners will be chosen using www.random.org and announced on the Inksplasher blog.
• Every daily entry also gives you a chance at the Grand Prize.
Party Games:
Harry’s Hunt for the Horcrux:
Since Harry and the gang will be searching for horcruxes and following clues, we’ll be doing the same, with an online scavenger hunt. Each day we’ll feature a sponsor and a question. Visit the sponsor’s blog or website, follow the clues to find the answer to their question, comply with any additional instructions, then e-mail the answer to the question to me. Each entry in this contest will enter you to win the sponsor’s prize AND the Grand Prize.
Hermione’s Hogwarts Trivia Test:
Always the source of trivial facts and information, Hermione will be matching wits with us. She’ll post a new Hogwarts trivia question each day. Your entry in this contest will enter you to win a Harry Potter Trivia Bingo Game* AND the Grand Prize.
Fred & George’s Magical Mix-Ups:
When you mix magic and teenagers, your bound to get some hilarious results. Each day there will be a wacky adventure (see our Chasing Twilight party), with it’s own set of rules specific to that post. Each entry in this contest will enter you to win a Harry Potter Bingo Game* (this is a visual bingo game, not the trivia bingo) AND the Grand Prize.
We have two Party Games that are on-going and you can start NOW!
The Daily Prophet Party Game:

Ron’s Read-a-Thon:

Possession Winners!
Last week, a whole bunch of people signed up to participate in a blog hop hosted by me, Ali, and Windy in celebration of the release of Possession, by Elana Johnson.
Amy Mcbray
John Sankovitch
Rachel Morgan
Now for the rest of you, I hope you've all gone out to buy your copy of Possession this week, because we're still taking receipts as entries into our second drawing for personal Elana time! (You do NOT want to miss out on this!) Send me your proof of purchase to writenichole @ gmail . com.
Good luck!
The first portion of the contest was to blog about a time when the blogger broke the rules. The incentive? Every participant was entered to win one of three autographed copies of the book. So Ali used Random.org to draw three winners (which we then verified had all actually posted)!
Congratulations to:
Amy Mcbray
John Sankovitch
Rachel Morgan

Rockin POSSESSION to the Top with a Bloghop and Contest
“What?” you ask. “You’re doing another POSSESSION contest? Seriously, Nichole. It’s almost like you’re obsessed with this book.”
(You can read more of what I thought about it here.)
Dudes, I know. But really, this is a phenomenal book, written by a completely phenomenal author and people, the day is coming. POSSESSION IS ALMOST HERE!
*cheers and dances in excitement*
The blogosphere is a buzz. In a totally good way. You DO NOT WANT TO MISS OUT. This is your chance to participate in the fun and win signed copies of POSSESSION along with other wicked-cool prizes.
Ali, Windy and I are hosting this particular activity, and it has two parts:
PART ONE: The Bloghop
Sign up today, or any day between now and June 7th, on any of our blogs. On June 7th, Possession’s birthday, write a post on your blog about a time when you broke the rules.
Three lucky winners will win a signed hard-cover copy of POSSESSION. (Can you say shiny?)
PART TWO: The Pre-order
Anyone who pre-orders a copy of POSSESSION between now and June 7th, will be entered in a drawing to win a prize of your choice, but get this: they all are your own personal Elana-time! (Ridiculous, I tell you. Is that not the coolest prize ever?) You’ll choose a query critique, OR an online or Skype talk with Elana!
To enter, send a copy of your receipt of purchase to me, Ali or Windy no later than June 7th. (writenichole @ gmail . com)
All winners will be announced on Wednesday, June 8th.
**UPDATE: The deadline on the Elana-time portion of this contest has been extended to accommodate those who are purchasing their books at actual bookstores. (We *heart* bookstores.) Send in your proof of purchase from ANY store (online or physical) by no later than noon on JUNE 16th. Elana will announce the winner during her virtual launch party during her online chat. (Also, I will post the name here.)**
So there you have it—yet another frawesome contest. But dudes, there is a point to this, so maybe you could help us out? Advertise these contests on your blogs, Facebook,Twitter, linkdIn, Goodreads, and everywhere else. Rent a billboard, mention it on the radio, have it written in the sky, etc. With a little help from our online friends, we have the power to make POSSESSION debut on the New York Times Bestseller list.

The Forgotten Locket Winner
I. Am. A. Bad. Blogger.
I ran a contest last week. The deadline was Saturday night. And yet, I still haven't announced a winner. *facepalm*
It's not because I don't have the follow-through, or because I don't want you all to know who wins, or even because I don't want to give away the book (cuz, I still get to keep my copy). There is a reason, and not just that I-forgot-and-I'm-so-sorry (even though, temporarily, the announcement thing obviously did slip my mind).
Did you know that google docs in the form of a spreadsheet are really hard to read on a netbook? And since my desktop is in the computer hospital, when I originally went to pick the winner, I couldn't scroll to the bottom of my spreadsheet without switching computers. That's when I got distracted and forgot.
But. I intend to rectify that issue right this minute. I have entered all the numbers into my handy-dandy random generator (scroll down on the sidebar, you'll see it) and it has drawn--of all numbers--13.
Lucky number 13, you ARE the winner of the signed copy of The Forgotten Locket by Lisa Mangum.
cheerclapclapclapclapdancecheerscreamclapclapclap...
Wait. You don't know who that is. I bet you want to, don't you? Okay, fine. Lucky number 13 is...
Mariah O!
Congratulations! Please email me at writenichole @ gmail . com so I can get your deets today. (If I don't here from you by Thursday at 5:00 pm, I'll draw an alternate winner.)
For all the rest of my participants, thanks for playing, and better luck in my next contest (which MIGHT be tomorrow, just in case you're wondering).

Winner of the Possession Prize Pack
I know you're all dying to know who won here. Believe me when I say I am too. I just finished tallying the numbers (almost 400) and plugged them into the random generator.
The number that was pulled is 317. (Yay for lucky numbers!)
Now here's the tricky part. For some reason, the name section of my spread sheet comes up completely blank. That part has even disappeared off the form, from what I can see. This spreadsheet is where all the form information went. I'm going to blame it on Blogger and all the problems it caused during this contest, because, well, it's the only explanation, really. The good news is the email address portion still shows just fine, so even without a name, I can contact the winner.
Lucky number 317's email address starts with sshandem. Congratulations, lucky winner! I don't know your name, but I will be emailing you shortly (after which I will come back and add your name on this post).
Thanks for playing everyone. Keep reading. You never know when I might offer another rockin giveaway. (Ahem, like, maybe Wednesday.)

One Last Winner!
What? You say I ran a contest? It ended when? Oh yes. That’s right. It ended Friday.
No, I did not forget. I’m giving away this fantastic prize. What was it again? Oh right.
A stamped copy of MOCKING JAY and a National Book Festival tote bag. Oh. Rightrightrightrightright. (Ala Jerry Seinfeld, in case you missed that.)
Fine. I won’t torture you any longer. Give me a few minutes to tally my list and run the numbers through the Random Generator (see the sidebar, handy little gadget if I do say so).
Drum roll please…
And the winner is…
Clapclapclapclapclapcheerclapcheerdancedancecheeryellscreamclapclapclap!
Congratulations! I will be emailing you soon to get all the important info so I can get this prize in the mail. Thanks for playing, all! It’s been a great month. Stay tuned. You never know when I’ll have the urge to give stuff away all over again. I have a collection of signed giveaway prizes. Just sayin.

Mega-Awesome, Totally Fabulous, I *Heart* Followers Contest (Part III)
In case you thought I was finished giving stuff away, you are soooo wrong. Because it’s December and I’m in a giving-type mood. That’s right people. Let’s do this one more time, shall we? I still have that stamped copy of MOCKING JAY. If you think you might be interested in this fantabulous prize (because seriously, stamped, signed—really, it was still handled and done by Suzanne Collins, I have proof) raise your hands.
Wait. I can’t see your raised hand through the computer. Hm. What to do?
Got it!
Required:
First, become a follower (see the top portion of my sidebar to the right of your screen). Considering that this contest is a Follower appreciation event, I think it’s fair to require everyone who wants to enter to be one of those followers I’m appreciating, right? Right. Okay.
Optional:
Next, leave a comment on any of my many random and amazing (or not-so-amazing) posts. I don’t care which one. You don’t even have to read it, per-se. Just click on the comment section and say hi, and I’ll be happy. (+1)
Third, Facebook (+1), tweet (+1), or blog (+1) this contest so all your friends can enter too. It’s not required, but if you do it just to be nice, I’ll give you an extra entry for each thing. If you tweet, include me @nicholegiles, and I’ll come follow you. Same with FB. We can be friends! **New addition** I know there are a lot of people who will be interested in this particular prize, so if you FB or Tweet this contest more than once, up to three times a day (each) I'll give you an entry for each one of those, per day. Just be sure to come back and fill out the form with all entries before the deadline.
Required:
After all that, fill out this form. This is a requirement. Don’t worry, it’s easy. See, the thing is, if you don’t fill it out, your name won’t be on the spreadsheet from which the names will be randomly selected (using a random generator). That is a definite problem when it comes to you wanting to win. But I promise to never use the information for anything other than this contest. Deal? Great.
So, there’s MOCKING JAY, which I know you’re dying to own. (Yeah, the stamp did smear some--but the signature portion is still awesome.)
But ALSO, I’m going to throw in a tote bag from the Library of Congress sponsored National Book Festival, where this book was stamped. Because it’s just cool.
The contest starts right now, and will run until midnight on Friday, December 17th (notice this runs a little longer than my other contests). I’ll post the final winner on Monday, Dec 20th. (**US shipping only.)
Okay. Good luck! Ready? Set? Go!

**BONUS**
If you entered to win the signed copy of LEVIATHAN, or the Eclipse bling package, those entries are still valid, so you have triple the opportunity to win! (No need to do anything else, I have all but the single winning entries already tallied!) So, there’s MOCKING JAY, which I know you’re dying to own.
