Stay and Fetch

Some basic routine, going to advance to fetch and recall (heads up return).

Heel Stay

The trick is to use the carpet, have your pet in a sit position on your left side when your use the word "heel". It takes like an hour for Lex to learn.

Lex newest Trick - Guard

This is the initial phase to make Lex guarding an object, will advance to guard at pinpointed objects without me moving any objects. On the other hand heel is working out quite good and finally found a way to control his markings LOL!

Time to learn some obedience......

Few days ago Lex was left unleash to roam around the loading bay and a fella was stupid enough to provoke Lex. Lex of course gave him a good chase but what made me angry was the inability of Lex to respond over my command. I told mum what had happened and I got spanked for not leashing him.

I have been thinking it is time for some serious obedience training, after wouldn't want the same incident happening twice and I was lucky that Lex wasn't injured. Currently we are practicing to heel on leash and off leash without any distraction. Hard time job......

Bark Control Training

In KL barking for Lex is kinda Taboo cuz of the fact that we are living in a condo. It has been my wish to educate him in controlling his barking. Below is a training which might seem a little bit awkward but nevertheless effective.




This mouse was caught lurking in the warehouse, his fate has been sealed and nothing could be done within my powers to free it.

Recall

Finally am back, been busy preparing for exams. Lex has developed lots of mats due to excessive lickings. As for the moment have had got him a dog apparel as a temporary solution, am going to get a elizabeth collar.... *if any of you who's looking for dog apparels plz drop by http://doggies-wardrobe.blogspot.com/. Distraction Training

This is a hard one to pull off when Lex is so fond of balls, however we managed to do it in the end. Am planning to go outdoors tranning with Lex every weekend.

Back with range

We have been training to catch in a longer distance. Next session Lex will have to try catching the ball by jumping and throws which are over his head.

Jump catch

Lex is getting crazy with the ball :) Gonna increase the distance and height of the catch, wish me luck.....

Sniff out the ball

He really likes the ball that Diana made for him, he is always motivated to find the ball and the timing is getting better too. Thanks Diana.

How stay command comes in handy

Are there times your tired of your dog following you everywhere around the house or need some privacy doing a few things like going to the toilet? This is where stay command comes in handy. First of all you need to teach your dog to sit. When he tries to get up, have him sitted again and repeat the word "stay" for a few times. Repeat this until he fully understands what you mean by stay. Good luck and have fun. The following video was taken last night when I need Lex to stay still while I grab myself a drink in the kitchen.

Turn Around

*Dcom was pulling your legs by saying Lex is up for sale...sry.... Hmmmp.... To compensate here is a video of Lex turning around enjoy. Was using roasted duck as treats (portion from my lunch....Zzz....). Seems to swallow the whole thing rather than chewing it.... Should have named him Gluttonster!

A full score from me since he learn this within 12 minutes.

Lex Come!

Here is a simple trick to learn. For those failling to do so, try calling your furkid's name with enthusiasm (not like mine as in the vid, that is a normal tune) and reward your furkid when they react to your call. Reward them, for instance a pat on thier head gives them a idea coming to you is worthwhile. Good luck.
