Call me Mrs Ong :)

29th March 2014, marked an improtant start of our journey of "Two are better than one".

Thank God everything ended beautifully in His hand. Our wedding day turned out incredibly wonderful and worth our eight months preparation. Glory to God!

We were our own wedding planner and very much into every small detail thing. From designing invitation card, producing them from raw papers, surveying wedding venue, theme and colour, bridal house, make up artist, photographer, live band,  sound system, wine, door gift design etc. The list is endless.

Thank God for He is faithful. He guided us for every step. I am grateful for this beautiful wedding I had, with the help of many of course. My parents, parents-in-law, siblings, relatives, friends, churchmates, guest from near or far, and everyone who involved whose names aren't mention. We express our ultimate gratitude. It wouldn't be as successful without you all. Thank you.

92/365 - The 'submarine'

Alcohol is inevitable in festival like Gawai. Had a good eye opener on how 'submarine' is prepared:
1) Prepare small and big glass each.
2) Small glass filled with whisky (Martell was used) and ice-cream soda in equal portion.
3) Half a big glass is beer filled.
4) Immerse the small glass into the big one. Extensive bubbling seen.
5) Ready to serve, advisable to finish within 30 seconds to preserve original taste.

Those who drank commented good feedback. I didn't try though. Having known how perforated gastric ulcer happens, do drink moderately...

77/365 - GE 13

Today I woke up with an extreme gloom. Not merely because of the oncall blue on top of the exhaustation of intensive travel between 3 places in the past 3 days. The main disappointment is none other than the general election result. Feel shameful to proclaim myself a Malaysian who lives in such country with the dirty governors. Upset on all efforts we had made to go all out to cast our vote, believing that justice and teamwork would prevail! I shed a tear of helplessness.

I must confess that my afterthought was, "So much for all my effort!", "I am migrating for sure!" Just as I aimlessly went through today devotion's passage, God's word hit me deeply.

Judges 7:7 The Lord told Gideon, "With these 300 men I will rescue you and give you victory over the Midianites. Send all the others home."

Why would God lead Gideon into battle with an army of only 300 men against an army of 135,000 Midianites? Gideon still went on to victory because he dutifully followed the Lord. He placed his trust in the Lord even against overwhelming odds. God's way is always higher and what we can comprehend.

This year's election had a few breakthroughs. The highest ever 80% voters turned up, an escalating seats on PR despite having all dirty tactics from its competitor. Most important of all, another occassion of true 1Malaysia spirit after Dato Lee Chong Wei's match in the Olympic, whereby the people are united to exercise their role including volunteerily catching the phantom voters, sharing poll results etc. BN has won the number of seats deceitfully, but hasn't reach the majority two third. On the other hand, PR has won the heart of the rakyat with the majority 51% of vote. Aren't these a big leap of success?

There is still light in the blackout. There is still hope in despair. Let's not give up to work for a better Malaysia!

One voice
Father, we ask of You this day
Come and heal our land
Knit our hearts together
That Your glory might be seen in us
Then the world will know
That Jesus Christ is Lord

Let us be one voice that glorifies Your name
Let us be one voice declaring that You reign
Let us be one voice in love and harmony
And we pray, O God, grant us unity

Now is the time for you and I
To join our hearts in praise
That the name of Jesus
Will be lifted high above the earth
Then the world will know
That Jesus Christ is Lord

47/365 - Happy Chap Goh Mei

Every festive season is meant for gathering with loved ones. For me who has been away from home, I am blessed with a bunch of friends who warm my heart when it comes to food and fun!

I'd bid goodbye to CNY gambling since I born again 11 years ago but I'd a bad breakthrough today. It was a kind of socialism that if I say no, the crowd would be disappointed so I agreed, to be the dealer some more. Won 16 bucks in total and paid back Ernest who lost 10 bucks, so nett win 6 bucks.

Time to confess...

Rom 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

41/365 - CNY greetings?

Went back home and saw two same greeting letters attached with free ang pow packets addressed to me and my brother respectively. I seriously agreed that the fund for printing ang pows packets and the so-called coloured message of greetings should have put to better use e.g. buying for goods and food for the old folks etc. On top of that, it would be so ridiculous to have used those ang pow packets and hence, to the dustbin they'll go.

Oh my Malaysia...

1 Cor 13: 4-5
Love suffers long and is kind;
love does not envy;
love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
does not behave rudely,
does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
bears all things, believes all things, hope all things, endures all things.

A day to remember

It was just an ordinary pre-call day that I intended to gather the only few friends of mine in Bintulu for a simple dinner. Ernest and I planned it on a Sunday despite having his post-call fatigue since I was oncall on my birthday. So I invited my landlady first. She questioned straight away "Whose birthday?"

Hence, the secret unveiled. Instead of giving me a surprise, she cutely ordered a birthday cake and asked me to collect from the bakery before dinner. Unpredictably, when we picked them from the doorstep, all the other friends of mine were all gorgeously dressed up with make up while I was only in my routine dress and slippers!

It wasn't an ordinary dinner there after. We had western cuisine followed by the long missing K-session with the most oldies I'd ever sang in the short 2-hours! There I realized singing K isn't just the youngsters' activity.

Lighted up with  :)<3

Birthday presents sum up! Of course not forgetting the big present from Ernest, the buy 5 free 1 facial package which can't be included in the picture! =D

Thank God, for bringing me thus far, for providing all I need. Thank you everyone, for your wish be it in a form of material, service or verbally via SMS, Facebook or a hand shake. Thank you mum, for giving me the best you can! I appreciate it all.

Yup I'm again another year wiser :)
