15-12-15-15

Fifteen pictures of family for the fifteenth of December 2015.

Folletts: The roast in the crockpot didn't cook.
Soooo...
we had to go to plan B so Ray could make his
temple assignment tonight.
Levin sampled the hot chocolate machine at his office.
Atlas sampled everything else.

Zeph:  I chipped my front tooth on the bath tub.
And I walked on the dock bridge all by myself (it's scary).

Ande:  My favorite view today.

Ezra:  Sometimes I don't take naps so I can
have alone time with mom and all the toys.

Grace: me and my babies

Grace: The newest addition to our family- Hazel Grace Payne.

Henry:  me and Hazel

Abe: Wrestling with Henry

Jane:  Celebrated Hanukkah with 150 students.
That’s a whole lot of hashbrowns, donuts, dreidels and gelt.

Kathryn: In the last week, I turned into both a crawler
and a bottler holder. Since I'm getting into everything now,
I might as well give Mom a few extra minutes to clean it up.

Michelle: enjoying the good weather while we still have it,
while trying to beat both the sunset and the oven timer.
We failed at both, but had a nice walk.

Ty:  I spend a lot of time in front of this board each day.
Scheduling for my flight.

Afton: Sticking it to the man.
If I'm going to nap, I'm going to do it MY way.

Eliza:
Strawberry banana juice: "Hi. How was your day?"
Orange juice: "Good. How was your day?"
Strawberry banana juice:  "Good."

I really believe this.  Home is our most important work.

15 Pictures for the 15th of October 2015

Ty: Today I sent a Japanese student on her first solo flight in the T-6.
I wasn't sure if she was going to be ready or not.
She was and you should have seen the smile/pride on her face when she landed.

Abe: I had the honor of reenlisting two of my Soldiers today.

Afton:  I started soccer today!

Eliza: Doctor chairs are fun. Mom missed the photo
opportunity when I was spinning Afton around and
we were laughing our heads off.

Ezra:  Ezra got shots and his identity stolen today. Big day.

Grace:  Getting ready for baby girl Payne

Henry got a much needed haircut this morning.

Joe & Ande:  Joe is at a conference called Geek End.
Ande is at home awaiting all the free stuff he'll bring back.

Kathryn: Good news is I slept until 8am. Bad news is everything
it took to wind me up on the guest bed tired enough to sleep late.

Michelle: I've started reading the Little House books to
Afton and Eliza after they get in bed at night.

Zeph:  Zeph and Ezra were both happy at the same time.
The weak link was Zeph the rest of the evening.

Calvin & Jane:  That is one big watermelon we grew this year.  I’m guessing 53 pounds.

Trevor: A company asked if they could use my picture for their advertisement.
You can imagine the ribbing I got for modeling for them.

Calvin:  Michelle sent me a boot to help my foot feel better.

15 Pictures for 9/15/15

Calvin:  Giving Ande what-to-do-when-no-water-comes-out directions via FaceTime

Eliza: They don't call me The Bruiser for nothing!

Michelle: Back in my own bed tonight.
One of the few comforting things about our great trip being over.

Afton: I'm trying to get my sisters to sing the song for Family Night.

Kathryn: Life is good.

Ty: We were traveling last night so we did Family Night tonight.
 Here is my "part."

Jane:  Pretty day.  Really pretty day.

Abe:  Another CAV-tastic day.

Ande:  A backward glance.

Ezra:  Sometimes you just gotta lay on the kitchen floor and self-sooth.

Grace:  Surprise shake from Abe.

Henry:  Not feeling very well and trying to sleep it off.

Joe:  Zeph found a new tractor today.  He's happy.

Trevor:  Building at a dairy today.

Zeph: is channeling his inner house cat and crawling
between my legs all my vocalizing his need for attention.

15+ Pictures of the Payne Family for the 15th of August 2015

This month's pictures are posted willy-nilly rather than grouped into families, because that is how they uploaded . . . imperfectly. It reminds me of this quote that I believe and think fits our family well:

“There are no perfect families . . . but there are many good families.

“In the healthy family, first and best, we can learn to listen, forgive, praise, and to rejoice in the achievements of others. There also we can learn to tame our egos, work, repent, and love. In families with spiritual perspective, yesterday need not hold tomorrow hostage. If we sometimes act the fool, loving families know this is not our last act; the curtain is not rung down.” --Elder Neal A. Maxwell

Here's to August 15th, 2015 and our family . . .

Abe:  Walking along the beach with my good friend, Henry.

Afton: I really wanted this lamp. If you didn't know,
my favorite color is pink. I also wanted the pink picture frame and pink bed.
We only got a white dresser, but it does have a mirror like I requested.

Ande:  I had two favorite views today.  Family playing and enjoying each other and nature,
and two pods of orcas.  I only got a picture of one of my two favorite views.

Atlas:  Aunt Grace tried to get a picture of all the boy Payne cousins together.
This was the best we got.

Calvin:  Ed and Jenny DeFord and their five boys came to stay the weekend with us.
We had a crab pot and not one shell was left unturned.

Eliza:  We furniture shopped during nap time today.

Grace:  Riding the ferry to San Juan Island to see the orcas with
Ande and boys, Ray and boys, and Abe and Henry.

Henry:  I like taking long walks on the beach by myself.

Kathryn:  I was a trooper while my parents took forever trying to decide whether or not to buy
this white dresser.  They decided.

Levin:  I caught a mouse!

Michelle:  Trying to have a good attitude while furniture shopping
with my entire family today.

Ray:  "Look!" or "Go West young man, go West."

Ty:  I won first place for my age division in the Possum Town Triathalon today.

Jane:  Part of our stove died six months ago, but we planned to limp by with it until Spring.
Until my nephew Ed came to visit and told us what a terrible fire hazard it was.
We went to town that afternoon and bought a new Whirlpool.
Ed and Austin installed it for us.
Ahhhhhhhh.

Joe:  Ande says I'm the upper right square.

Zeph:  When Ande tucked Zeph into bed tonight he could only talk about two things: "big whales
in the water" and "hold mouse's tail."  All in all, today was a grand adventure.

Ezra:  I got to be held and be outside almost all day, so I'm happy.
