The Holy Mountain is guaranteed to be the weirdest, most insane movie you have ever seen. The reason is because every scene is cryptically symbolic or representative of some deep metaphor that only the director understands. Because of this, the movie is rather nonsensical and extremely random. It was made in 1973 and directed by Alejandro Jodorowsky.
Suspiria is a crazy 1970s Italian horror film by director Dario Argento. It is extremely different from most other horror movies I have seen which made me really like it. It has trippy psychedelic lighting, cool compositions and uncomfortably brutal murder scenes. The location of this movie is pretty insane, as are all of the settings/locations in Dario Argento's movies. They normally take place in some ridiculously ornate theater, house or hotel.
The Deadly Spawn is a fun horror movie from the 80s that uses cool models & puppets. A Co-worker of mine was nice enough to let me borrow it. Here are some pics:
I miss the days of 1980s fantasy and adventure movies. This is when they relied heavily on hand crafted models and photo trickery to achieve their special effects.
