resin clay ring

inspired by my friend carmi and her new I love resin blog
this coffee break ring is a fun and easy project
a little resin clay, a metal complex ring bezel and
a few miniature items supplied by carmi
five minutes later and one ring finished , so cute I had to make a second

KLIK collaboration

klik© - A New Metal Complex
DIY Program Featuring the
Ideal Blank Bezel for Resin Crafters!
featuring 50 artist and there creations
check them out on the resin crafts blog
and all the components at metal complex

for one of my submissions i knew i was going to use wire
but needed todrill some holes in the KLIK bezel first
using 3 8 inch pieces of 12 gauge aluminum wire
it was easy to weave the wire through the holes
looping and interlocking along the way
adding gold beads with  18 gauge wire
i filled the bezel with resin clay and added gold micro beads
and a metal bee on top

and of course i had to try out a few more ideas
the next thought was to get out the soutache cord  beads and pearls

creating for carmi

i  am so happy to be challenged by my friend carmi
she sits me at a table in her studio with some amazing products and says
"what can you do with this"
sometimes i can only feature one element and other times i can mix and match
featuring
 aluminum  wire
flat leather
faux suede tassels
suede lace cord
neo chain
plus all kinds of findings
she displays my work on several of her wonderful blogs

i am truly blessed to have such a great friend and a wonderful opportunity
to create every day!!

watch bezel pin project

i don't know how I forgot to include this on my last resin post
it is one of my favourite's
i knew i wanted to make a pin and when I found the metal bee
i thought of summer, my garden and went looking through my old photos
and found some cone flower, perfect
the key and heart balanced it all out
but it was still a bit plain
of course, i hadn't used any wire or beads yet!!
the rest was easy
putting it all together is the fun part
and i'm getting better at pouring resin
-----
if you would like to see the whole project
carmi, the organizer of this resin challenge, has started posting
all the participants work on the resin crafts blog
and also on pinterest

resin watch bezel challenge

back in the fall my friend carmi sent me a few watch bezels
for her resin time-is anytime! project
carmi posted:
With so many talented followers it is time for me to showcase
your work on both our blog and at a super event we attend in January:
The Craft & Hobby Association Conference and Trade Show  (CHA)
this weekend carmi is unveiling all the finished pieces
====
the first thing I did when I saw the brass watch was
to look through my supplies to see what would inspire me
above a layout of all the found objects I though might work
before I knew it , out came the drill, some wire and leather
I found an old wire bangle a figured why not make a watch

filling in the bezel was the easy part
I figured it was 5 o'clock somewhere
and the ETI resin pour came out perfect
and as always one thing leads to many more
but that will be another post
