Having Fun with Prima's Bayou Flora layering stamps

I had a great time playing with my new Prima layering stamps
I used the Bayou Flora set
Please don't ask me the name of the flowers
I am lost when it comes to gardening hee hee!

It took me a bit to figure out how best to match colours with each stamp
A tip is that you want to use your lightest ink on your solid flower image stamp
I worked on scratch paper first to match up my colours
and also to figure out how to line up the images
Once I figured it out it became easy
Using my MISTI to stamp the images also helped IMMENSELY!
So glad I bit the bullet and got one!

Hope you have a wonderful crafty day too!

C4C is wishing you a happy Father's Day!

I'm a little late with today's post so please forgive me! Crazy 4 Challenges would like to see Father's Day themed cards! Don't wait till the last minute...or day of...to get these cards made and our challenge this week will help you get ahead of the game.

This card was actually for last week's challenge but I got so late at posting it (for shame!!) that I turned it into a Father's Day card as well. Two birds with one stone! I used an older stamp from Prima that I really like featuring a schooner. To me it is very much a male card image. Now this card is actually for my girls to give to their Papa. Even though they are skilled crafters I have a feeling he will know it comes from me hee hee! The sentiment is from Unity stamps and the set came with 3 Father's Day sayings.

To see more manly creations hop on over to the C4C challenge blog and be inspired!

Cheers, Andrea

C4C- Saturday Challenge time!

This week's challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges is to have your creation reflect gardening or the outdoors. I took the add flowered paper and flowers route as they made me think of pretty Spring gardens. This challenge is so fun because really- the only limit here is your imagination! You can do gardening stamps, flower stamps, fishing or boating stamps or stickers, etc.

I used a stamp from Kaiser Craft which could be about anything. Birthdays, job promotions, wedding days, you get the idea. I love having 'generic' cards on hand because I am always realizing 10 mins before I have to go somewhere that perhaps a card is needed. I added some new paper from Prima that is just stunning! It has lush colours in its flower pattern. Love love love it! This card really pulled itself together and I think I may have to use this design again!

I hope you can play along with us this week over at Crazy for Challenges and help us bring the outdoors to your crafty creations!

Cheers, Andrea

Crazy 4 Challenges is asking you to Button up!

See this vintage distressy card in all it's frou frou-ness...it was all designed around that pearl button in the top left corner. Yep. That's how I roll.

Okay..it may have also had to do with the new scrumptious paper from Prima that features vintage fairy ballerinas...maybe. It is soo new at SGD that when I went to link it up it isn't even showing online yet. Lots in the store though...unless I need to go back and buy it all. And I am considering it...would that be rude? hee hee

So back to the beginning..this card all came about because of a button and some pretty paper. The button because this week's challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges is to add buttons to your project. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy! I have been hoarding this oyster pearl button for about a year. I bought it as part of a set of Tessa Ann Designs on Etsy and a button challenge is a good reason to let go of the ones you have hoarded me thinks.

After ripping apart my craft room to find what would best compliment my much loved button I found the paper I am nuts over currently. NUTS!!! So with a design as pretty as this you need to let the paper show through. But I still needed a stamp and I went with the VERY FIRST UNITY STAMP I EVER BOUGHT.  Considering I own close to a thousand of their stamps now this one holds mucho sentimental value :). Nothing like a nice big quote stamp to make this girl happy.   Add a frou frou feather, some twine and a shiny ribbon and voila! Done! I had to walk away and resist the urge to add more pretties like rhinestones, pearls, etc.

So what can you create around a button for inspiration? Doesn't have to be just one as seen by the rocking cards by the Crazies for this challenge. Love!!!! Seriously- check out the bird out of a button card...brilliant!! So click here to go to the C4C challenge site and button your creation up to play along with us!

Stamping Bella Christmas Card featuring circle Snowman

**Please click on the picture for a bigger view**

Sharing today the second card club members are making with their Nov card kit. It is using the Stamping Bella Snowman circle stamp. I paired this adorable stamp up with some Authentique Christmas paper and some kraft Maya road snowflakes. To add some shine and bling I used my new glitter by Twinklets and it is GORGEOUS. Sheila has in some stunning new pearls and gems from Prima that have different facets and honestly I think I bought a pack in almost every colour- they are so beautiful! I used the pearl ones on this card- love!!!

One more Christmas card made and a basquillion to go! How are you coming along with your Christmas card making?

La Blanche stamped card

Hello!! I just wanted to share with you my post today over at the SGD blog using La Blanche stamps and coloured using the technique shown in the video. I hope you enjoy it and have a wonderful day!

Andrea here on this Saturday morning with the second card you can make with the Oct card kit. Today's card uses some of Prima's gorgeous Printery papers...I have some 12x12 in my stash along with the 6x6 pack..love the vintage look. Again this card uses a La Blanche stamp and in this month's card kit you will have received 3 pieces of the La Blanche specialty paper to try out the technique seen in the video above. On my card I stopped after the distress inks and didn't use the Ultra Thick Embossing Powder (UTEE) but it does add a really nice effect.

I share this often on my personal blog about my love of mice stamps. Not real ones...just stamps or cute mice stuffed animals so this stamp was one I had been eyeing for awhile. I coloured it up with my distress inks and a one of my Fantastix colouring tools. After he was coloured I spritzed water onto my image using my mini mister and then blotted it with a paper towel before turning my heat gun on it to really set it. Once I had that done I put it together and as a finishing touch I spritzed it with some shimmer spray in the handy portable tubes that are included in this month's kit. I am not sure if you can make it out in the picture but it has an amazing sparkle to it! I am not sure if vintage cards are supposed to sparkle but they sure do in my world hee hee!!!!

I have to share that my hubby actually really liked this card as well and even took the time to compliment it without me asking first. Actually what he said was "Oh cool, I really like your Rat card". snicker!!! Of course I corrected him and told him it is a mouse actually and he just smirked. Boys!!!

I  hope you get some crafty time in today and if you want to grab one of this month's kit you may want to act fast as very few were made this month outside of the club members.

Cheers! Andrea

Paper Romance challenge- Scrunched Ribbon with Itty Bitty's

Seriously....SERIOUSLY..!!! Aren't these two so cute! I am not sure if they are monsters or aliens but how adorable! I HAD to have this stamp 'Nicest place to be' from the new Unity collection Itty Bittys and was soooo excited when Amy started carrying them at Paper Romance. I coloured them with my copics and grabbed some of my Jack and Jill paper by Prima. Then came the 'challenge' part of the card- and it was a bit of a challenge for me- to have scrunched ribbon on my card. I frayed the ends of my satin ribbon so I could grab a few strands and pull on them to create the scrunching. It took me a few tries- my chubby fingers didn't want to work with me today! Then I glued that sucker down before I lost anymore of my scrunching hee hee. Zip dry works wonders let me tell you!

To see some more amazing scrunched ribbon click here to go to the challenge blog and also read about Amy's 6 month DT call happening right now. Cheers! Andi
