A Heartfelt Thanks Post

Hi, friends! Today is a very bittersweet day for me. It's technically the first day of our summer break from school, but the past few months have been anything but normal and very emotionally taxing. I am so grateful for so many thing today, that I had to share a card that expressed that. Take a peek...

This card was made using old stamps from my stash. I used a heart that looks like a stamp because all of my love for my students has had to be posted somewhere and not in person. I used a Sakura gel pen to create the shiny faux black vinyl letters. A couple of black enamel gems finished this CAS, one layer card.

I am so grateful for the opportunity that I had to teach my 27 students this year. Before we left for spring break, I had a moment at the end of a day where I looked out at them all engaged and learning on their own accord, and my heart was FULL. I realized how much they had grown, and I cannot say how thankful I am just for that small moment and experience to help carry me through the last 8 weeks. I also have so much gratitude for the staff and parents I was blessed to work with this year. There is NO WAY I would have been able to do this without them!

I am entering this creation into these fabulous challenges~

Thank YOU so much for stopping by today! If you read my post, I appreciate your willingness to listen to me today. I hope that you take some time today to thank someone close to you. You never know when you will see them next, so don't wait! Until next time, HUGS and happy crafting, friends!

MHKDesigns: March Challenge + Blessed Lily Release

Hello and happy March, everyone! I'm here today to share a card for this month's challenge at MHKDesigns. As you know, I've revamped how my Etsy shop will be running this year, so our challenge posts will ALSO include a monthly release set! This month's set is called...

And here is our challenge inspiration:

I decided to play around with Photoshop and create a two card set--one layered card, the other a one-layer card. Here are my cards...

Both of these cards use the same Photoshop-created panel and the *NEW* Blessed Lily digital stamp set. One was printed, then layered and gussied up...

And the other was kept one-layer with simple rounded corners added.

The layered card had some faux stitching added as a border. I love that using digital images make it super simple to create cards using the same product in a variety of ways! The possibilities are endless! What do you think? I would love to hear in the comments below! :)

MHKDesigns: Recoloring a Digital Sentiment

Hi, friends! I hope your September was wonderful! I'm back with another card using digital products from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop today. Today I'm sharing a card that uses the Stitched Tea Party set. Take a peek...

This card is one layer, y'all! I had lots of fun using my Digital Paper Fill technique for the scene. I used papers from the Sunflower Sampler and Get Well Flowers paper packs. A few brown gems and some glitter add texture and shine!

I decided to deck out my sentiment, too! I recolored part of it to match with the color scheme I had chosen for my scene. For details on how I colored just part of the sentiment and tips on other ways to alter sentiments, check out my latest YouTube video!

I think this card is super fun and I hope you agree! I can't wait to hear your thoughts about my card in the comments below! :)

That's all I have for you today, friends! Thank you so much for stopping by! I always love to hear from you, so please do let me know your thoughts in the comments below! MHKDesigns: Digital Emboss Resist

Hi, friends! I hope your August went well! I've got another creation to share with you today that uses products from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop--and it's completely ONE LAYER! I have a video tutorial on my YouTube station on how to create this card and the digital emboss resist effect, so head over there to check that, too! Here's my completed card...

This card uses an image and sentiment from the beautiful Mum's the Word digital stamp set. I used Photoshop to create the watercolor/emboss resist feel and to layer the elements. The colors are inspired by the upcoming autumn season here in the Northern Hemisphere. :)

After printing the card, all I did was round the corners for a finishing touch. I really adore the way this turned out and hope you like it, too! I would love for you to leave me your thoughts in the comments below!

MHKDesigns: August 2017 Challenge

Hi, all! It's time for another new challenge at MHKDesigns! The inspiration this month is fabulous--you can choose to follow it and use any type of product OR you can opt to create ANYTHING with products from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop! Take a peek at the inspiration...

I chose to use Photoshop to create a fun and funky one layer card this month. I was inspired by the pattern and the colors of the photo inspiration. Check out my completed card...

This card uses the Funky Flowers digital stamp set and different Photoshop brushes. I love the way the image in white looks against the various splotches of color in the background! I also used a gradient overlay on the sentiment to tie it in with the colors of my card.

After cutting the card to the appropriate size, all I did was round the corners of the bottom of my card. I LOVE the way this turned out and have printed it in various colors to use for a quick note of encouragement! What do YOU think of it? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

MHKDesigns: Digital Paper Fill Card

Hello, friends! It's time for me to share another card using products from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop! I have another video tutorial on how to create this fun one layer card, so hop over to take a check it out! Here's my creation...

This card uses the Rosy Elements digital stamp set and the French Country digital paper pack. I created the panel in Photoshop (see the tutorial for details) and then printed it out. Some glitter was added to the flower centers and a few enamel dots added for a bit of dimension.

The finishing touch was to round the bottom corners of my card. I love the way this turned out, and I am excited that it will be super easy to mail--with no extra postage! What do you think? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! :)
