It's a sketch at Crafty Catz

Good evening all,

Before I let you all know about this week's fab challenge at Crafty Catz, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has sent me thoughtful messages these last few weeks.  Although I am not getting around to blog, I am reading all your wishes and they make me realise (even more than I already knew), how fab you girls really are.

Also, apologies to the Crafty Catz girls for not posting this morning.  I forgot it was Friday today! Honestly! If I had a brain, I would be dangerous!

Anyway, the theme at Crafty Catz is a fantastic SKETCH.  Take a look at this beauty.....

Here is my take on the sketch.  It was my Mum's Birthday recently and I made this card for my son to send to her. Unfortunately, we were in Dubai at the time and Mum was in hospital in UK but still, Mum loves homemade cards. She appreciates the time and effort that gets put into every one.

I hope you will all pop over to Crafty Catz and view the gorgeous inspiration my teamies have prepared for you.  If you can join in too, that would be even better.

Take care and Big Hugs to all,
Jill xx

Kaisercraft frame - New Baby

Good morning all,

I hope this post finds you well. Today i have popped in to share with you something a little different.  Recently, my neighbour had a new baby and she has always been supportive of my crafty projects so i decided to make them a little gift.  Forgive me for the photo heavy post and for the poor quality and squint pics ( I took them in a hurry... argh!)

I started off with a large Kaisercraft frame (below) and have used My Mind's Eye 'The Sweetest Thing' collection throughout.  I love this collection and thought it would be just as nice as 'baby' papers.

This is what i made...............
I have left the top left space free for a photo to be inserted under the corner die cuts and two smaller photos can be added further down. I've also added a little journal tag which was a pre made journal tag from this collection that i cut down and altered to fit.

This is a Cheery Lynn doily which is part coloured using Martha Stewart acrylic paint (surf) and a ready made sentiment from MME The Sweetest Thing collection.

This is a 3D sticker from the same collection.  I added the button and hemp.

This was a wooden teddy i had in my stash for ages that i painted then added the bow.

Finally, the flowers are from Hobbycraft and were white so i painted the with the same Martha Stewart acrylic paints, added some Tim Holtz die cut flourishes and voila!  The name and date are American Crafts thickers.

Supplies:

My Mind's Eye 'The Sweetest Thing' collection - Designer paper, journal tag (altered and cut down) & 'playful' sign, tiny word stickers and layered stickers.
Dusty Attic layered flowers and words (adore & cherish)
Martha Stewart acrylic paint - surf, jonquil and couscous
Tim Holtz distress ink - walnut stain
Flowers from Hobbycraft
Die cuts by Tim Holtz (flourishes) and Cheery Lynn (corners)
Thickers by american Crafts

Challenges i would like to enter:

Thank you for visiting me today.  I hope you are all having a good day. As always, you comments are very much appreciated.  I hope to catch up with you all later on today.

For now, take care.
Hugs, Jill x

DT card for Paper Lane

Good morning all,

The sun is shining here in Scotland but for how long, i don't know!   I am just about to rush out the door to go and see The Gruffalo so this is just a quick post today to show you a DT card i made for Paper Lane.

I used Echo Park Paradise Beach paper collection.  I went for a nice bright bold theme with lots of colour and layers. I made the flower using a Hero Arts stamp set and lots of layers from this beautiful paper collection. The leaves are a Sizzix die cut coloured with Tim Holtz distress inks. The corner die cut is by Cheery Lynn.

What do you think?

Thank you for viiting me today. If you have time and leave a comment, it will let me know you dropped by and i will be able to come and visit you too.

Before i dash off, i just want to say a big hello and warm welcome to my new followers.

2 Sisters Challenge Blog Christmas in July

Good morning all, i hope you are all having a great weekend.  Today, i have some news to share with you.

I am delighted to announce that i have been asked to join the fabulous 2 Sisters Challenge Blog Design Team.  Yay!  I start today and will be providing DT inspiration every Saturday for the next 6 months so i hope you will all come and join in the fun at the 2 Sisters Challenge Blog .

During the month of July 2 Sisters Challenge Blog will have a month long theme of Christmas In July. Each week they will have a new sponsor and a new prize. And each week they will also have an optional bonus. You are free to make a Christmas project or you can join in and create a Christmas project using the bonus. Everyone who follows the challenge and rules will be entered for a chance to win that week's prize. But as an added extra bonus during the entire month of July anyone who uses the bonus will be added into a special surprise drawing at the end of the month.  How cool is that?

This is Week 99 and the sponsor is the fabulous Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps.

Incase you have forgotten, the theme is: CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Bonus (optional): No Red and Green

Here is my card:

Recipe:

I printed the image onto white cardstock and coloured it with copics.  To the tree, i added some bling in the shape of some mini gems.  You probably can't see it in the photo but i added some 'snow' to the bottom of the card, the edge of the pink cardstock (yes, the cardstock is pink even though it looks red in the photo!) and i also added some snowflakes around the image using Ranger Embossing Tinsel. The snowflakes stamps are part of a set from The Greeting Farm.  The corner dies are by Cheery Lynn.

Thank you for visiting.  If you leave me  comment, i will know you stopped by and i will come and visit you too.  Have a good day.

Hugs, Jill x
