Amanda captured our day in photographs (thanks Amanda for letting me "borrow" some of the photos)...
Laying out the blocks on the pool table...
Me making some sort of funny face while cutting (I am notorious for the funny face photos at guild meetings for some reason!)
Look - Monica's nails match the blue in the blocks - LOL
Some of what we accomplished by the end of the day...
I took one of the tops home to quilt...I was going to just do a meander, but saw the Curlz pantograph still on the table from the last quilt and thought it would look good so did that instead. I think it worked out just fine!
Here's the back...
The rest of the quilt top were given out to members at our last meeting to finish up the quilting and then they will all be donated. It was a lot of fun to see and work with all of the blocks and see the creativity of our members - everyone did a great job!
This weekend is the Fall Frenzy Shop Hop 2011 in our area. I can't believe that I've never done a shop hop in all of my years of quilting, but this will be my first one! A few of us from PMQG are car-pooling on Saturday and the plan is to hit about 6 of the shops that day. I'll do the others that are near me on my own on Sunday and Monday. That's a lot of shopping!!

these quilts are great! Thanks for sharing.
Shop Hopping is not for the faint of heart-but dang it is so much fun. As a "seasoned hopper" may I quietly offer this advice:
make a list but don't expect to stick to the list!
I hope you have as much fun as I do when we shop hop (ours in West Pa is in June).
Oh my gosh...I just had to tell you that my design board is actually an old bunk board from our grandkids bunk beds that we covered with flannel. Then, when I set up my sewing room, which had previously been the room where our pool table was set up, we had some professionals come in and move the pool table against the wall and my design board fits perfectly down inside the bumper edges on top of the heavy vinyl cover. Some of my family and friends laughed and joked with me that I must be the only person in the world that uses a pool table to lay my blocks out on. After reading your post, I found that I am not alone. You are the first person I have ever heard (well, read) that they lay out blocks on a pool table, LOL. I have been doing it for a while now but for the last two years it has been my official layout table. You guys got some great tops done and I love the quilting you chose for yours. Thanks for sharing...
Great quilts!
Have fun on your shop hop!
Lovely quilts! Have fun on the shop hop. I've never done one either and I've been quilting for 16 years.
Cool quilts!!! I love each one of them!
We were both 'shop-hop-virgins'! It was so much fun- i can't wait for the next one.
