experiments

Over the past few weeks I have been reading about functional scoliosis. My #1 daughter has such. I was also learning about leg length decrepancies, and hip issues. I have come to the conclusion that some of us have inherited a hip issue which makes it so one hip doesn't fit quite right. This in turn causes that leg to be longer, which causes stress on the other leg and the back as they all try to compensate. So I have tried an experiment. This past week I have had my daughter and I wear one shoe insert. Luckily Her wierd hip is opposite of mine - wasn't that convienient! SO I wear the right foot leveler insert and she is wearing my left foot insert. she was trying it and seemed to think it was a good thing but she got a blister while running in thin socks one morning. So the next morning she ran without the insert and she was hobbling really bad when she came home. Having her wear the insert has helped with her back pain. She says she doesn't need to be adjusted as much and she isn't as sore. She has noticed that her right calf is sore. The poor muscle is having to adjust and balance again. So interesting! I don't want to have to have life stopping surgery if a lift is work able. Okay we still do lots of stretches and exercises to strengthen the muscles around the hips and our cores. But we have less pain !!!! yayay!!!!

cost of kids

Recently I was looking at the big sales that will be happening this weekend, I thought about how nice it would be to have a new recliner... The cost, I thought, I could do maybe. Then I went to the sporting goods store for a really good sale on shoes for my kids and a swimming suit for my daughter and some hiking boots for 2 kids for their summer trek, and new running shoes for the missionary. The next thing I knew all the money for the recliner was gone. As I thought about it the recliner would last a lot longer than the shoes and kid supplies, but it isn't a living thing. I will not need the recliner. The kids will need the shoes to help them as they grow and develop, they will need the life experience they can have while using their shoes. The society we live in would consider me to be a negligent parent if I didn't have shoes for my children. I don't need children's services harassing me, so the shoes win, and the recliner will float back into the back of my thought processes for another time. another sale. another life. For now I need to take care of my children, and help them succeed..."Dream are for Rookies Kid"

Where have I been?

Okay so I was missing in the blogging world. Sorry I hope to work with updating the photos soon. I was stressed with things needed to get my son off on his mission, and with looking for a new Realtor for the Condo in Provo. Still asn't sold yet...It is down to $127,190. The boy was deposited at the MTC on Wednesday and we had 4 concerts that evening. The next night we had the HS Choir concert. Tonight the man and I ran away on a date to a AAA baseball game... Fun Stuff! Monday Myra will graduate from 8th grade!

Some of our new bows...

We have needed a lot of bows lately. We have gotten quite a few from Ms Shannon. I think bows look cuter in the hair than without it, so here are some photos of my girls with the bows. The first shot was a korker bow we had before Holly cut her hair. The rest of the bows were ordered to help mom be happy with the haircut.

I realize that Rachael didn't have a hair cut but she TOTALLY loves that this bow matches her outfit!!!!

Spencer's first Promenade dance

This is the young lady Spencer asked to the prom. Her name is Bekah and she is showing off her dancing shoes. Remarkably she was able to dance all night and keep her shoes on!

Introducing our Very Handsome Spencer.. Yes he feels right at home in that tux, he wears it A LOT!

Spencer looking sharp in tux, silver vest with purple tie!

Spencer and Bekah at her house before the dance (These two were a big part of creating the dances and teaching them to all of those participating in Promenade. Spencer even had the kids in formation so at the end you could look down an see a 2012 outlined in their ending positions)

I asked them to dance so I could have an action shot, they both LOVE to dance so that was an easy request!

A group shot outside Bekah's house just before we race home for the tickets. Then they were off to the Capital building for the night.
