Late Summer on the Lake

The card today is for the FarmQuest challenge and our theme this time is "Boats."  The image was  printed in gray scale and colored it with water color paints.  The image was cut with  a QuicKutz die and the edges are inked.

The background is lavender CS and I wrapped it with 1 inch, black, sheer ribbon.  The bow was tied on a bow maker.  The sentiment was cut with an Avery Elle die.

Rose Fairy

One more monthly progressive challenge and this time it's for The Outlawz.  This beautiful image, which I think of as a lovely fairy, was provided by Moon Flower Digistamps.  I thought she'd look great in monochromatic pinks.

She was colored with ProMarker and gel pens, then cut with an octagon die from QuicKutz.  The plain, pink CS was embossed with my Linen EF, then combined with glitter paper from Recollections for the background.  A small scrap of the glitter paper was cut with a die from Your Next Stamp and the drop out pieces were used to make the trio of embellishments on the right hand side.  Finally, I used my bow maker to tie a triple loop bow for the left side.  The Birthday sentiment was stamped and highlighted with white gel ink.

I based my card on the sketch at Cheerful Sketches,
inspired by the basics but giving it my own flavor by spreading the
distance of the half-circle embellishments, tilting the sentiment onto a diagonal,
and using the bow to replace the upright strip on the right side.

I'll have another DT post late tonight featuring a card done for the new weekly challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  Then, a couple of hours after that, I'll have one as a midway reminder for the monthly challenge at Jan's Digi Stamps.  Do stop by and check those out, too.

Di's Digis DT Call

Di's Digi Designs is having a DT call this month and anyone who would like to apply needs to create a post on their blog, sharing 3 of their favorite creations, and if 1 of those featured an image from Di's, that would be great!

I've waited for a long time for this DT call!  I love Di's images and was devastated when I lost every one of the images I had bought over the years due to a flash drive crash last year.  There is no way I can afford to go back and repurchase each one I lost but maybe if I serve on her team, I can share some of my favorites with all of you and you'll become customers in my stead.  :-D

This card has a Di's image and I just completed it so I'm going to be entering it into a few challenges.  I colored with my ProMarkers, cut the image with a stitched die from Lawn Fawn, and layered it onto a circle cut with a QuicKutz die.   The papers are from an old DCWV stack.  The sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die.  I used my bow maker to tie the triple-loop bow.

     Challenges:

This is another favorite card which also features a Di's image and is fitting for the season since Halloween is just around the corner.

And finally, a card I made just a month or so ago using a gray scale image but not one from Di's; just a favorite of mine since I think the coloring is some of my best.

Cross your fingers for me, won't you"  I really hope to make the team.  :-D  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Cornucopia

I'm really thrilled with this new release from Jan's Digi Stamps called "Fall Cornucopia."  It comes with lovely sentiments and I included one here by merging the image and sentiment before printing.

On this image, I started with one of the pre-colored images but I adjusted it to grayscale before I printed it.  Starting with Jan's pre-colored images in grayscale instead of just printing the B&W line drawing means that all of Jan's lovely shading and highlights are still there so that adding your own colors over them makes you look like a superb artist.  :-D  Thank you, Jan!

I used ProMarkers and gel pens to color the grayscale image, then cut it with a Tattered Lace die.  I layered that onto the front of a circle card, also cut with a die from Tattered Lace, on top of the wrapped sheer ribbon.   The triple-loop, satin bow was tied using my bow maker and that bow is the only embellishment.

I used colors taken from the 3rd Column of
the TicTacToe board at Color Dare, plus gold.

     Challenges:
Double Trouble  (all 3)

The challenges at Jan's Digi Stamps are still on a break but will be returning on the first Monday in November so not long to wait now - just a bit over a month.  Since our challenges run throughout the entire month, you'll hardly notice how quickly the time flies by.  In the meantime, Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Kawaii Kitty

This sweet girl in her Kawaii Kitty outfit is the image from the progressive challenge at Stamper's Delights this month.  I used ProMarkers and polychromos pencils to color her, then cut her with a Sizzix die.  The sentiment came with the image and I printed it, cut it with a die from QuicKutz, and added it below the image.

I used a scrap strip of dp and made a hand-tied, triple loop bow with a left over scrap of satin ribbon.  I ended up with a triple loop bow because the scrap was too long for a double loop and I saw no need to waste the extra ribbon so tied a triple loop bow instead.

Everything was put onto a gray CS base which was complimentary to the gray in the calico cat's 'fur.'

     Challenges:

I know this is a really quick post today but I'm up to my ears in things on my plate.  :-D  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie
