Seahawks Beat Patriots In Dramatic Fashion

In what could be the most dramatic finish in Seahawk history, Patriot quarterback Cam Newton was stuffed at the 1 yard line to preserve a 35-30 victory.  The game was broadcast to a national Sunday Night Football audience on NBC and it did not disappoint.

Seahawk quarterback Russell Wilson had 5 touchdown passes as he gets off to a hot start for 2020.  The game was played at Century Link, but the 12s were absent.   The empty seats added an eerie vibe to the game.  Of course, the Patriots were without Tom Brady, but with Cam Newton at the controls, it looks like they will remain in the league elite.

Seahawks Get Quality Road Win

The Seattle Seahawks overcame a slow start, a loud stadium and a Cleveland  team that came ready to play to beat the Browns 32-28.
The Browns raced out to a 20-6 lead, not where you want to start when you're in Cleveland,  but the Hawks rallied toward the end of the half.  The Seahawks were down by just two at halftime.
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson threw two touchdown passes, both to Jaren Brown and rushed for a third.  He wound up with 295 passing yards.  Running back Chris Carson had 124 yards and one touchdown.   The defense forced 4 turnovers.

Earl Thomas Saga Has Ugly Turn

In today's Sunday Seattle Times, Seahawk beat writer Bob Condotta wrote about the Arizona Cardinals stadium being a "house of horrors".  He had remembered the Seahawk defeat in the 2014 Super Bowl in the final minutes in that very stadium to the New England Patriots.  As well as other unfortunate happenings to the team.
He could not have been more correct as the Seahawks lost Safety Earl Thomas, very likely for good in that very stadium.  It was probably the most hollow victory.  The Seahawks won the game, but Earl Thomas injured his leg and by all accounts is lost for the season.  Tight End Will Dissly also left the game due to injury
However, the sad part was Thomas's giving the Seahawk bench the "finger".  Thomas had held out for a new contract over the summer.  He came back after the team wouldn't blink and played well.  Since a new deal did not look possible, he was hoping for a trade.
So it was a win for the Seahawks who are now even for the season at 2 and 2, but you can bet, no won was celebrating on the short trip  home.

Seahawks Upset Eagles

The Seattle Seahawks, missing 3 key defensive players, upset the high flying Philadelphia Eagles 24-10 NBC's Sunday Night Football.  The Eagles were on a 9 game winning streak and were rolling over opponents, the Seahawks, on the other hand, seemed to be bumbling and stumbling their way to the finish line, all the experts had predicted a huge Philadelphia victory.
The Seahawks were not listening though and seemed invincible on both offense and defense.  Russell Wilson was working his magic eluding tacklers and kicker Blair Walsh was splitting the uprights everytime, his field goal in the first quarter gave Seattle a lead that it wouldn't give up.

Seahawks Go Green

The Seahawks beat the Rams quite handily to avenge an earlier loss to the same team in Los Angeles.  The 'Hawks clinched the NFC West and go back on the winning track after a dreadful loss in Green Bay last Sunday.  However I think most of the town will remember last night for  what is known as a "color rush" uniform. The neon green uniforms were a complete distraction and probably overshadowed Jon Ryan's fake punt and near fumble that landed him in the hospital as the most memorable part of the Thursday Night contest.

Seahawks Start Preseason With Bang

The Seattle Seahawks began their preseason with a dramatic come from behind victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.  With no time on the clock, Trevone Boykin, a back up quarterback threw a 37 yard hail mary pass to Tanner McEvoy, making the score 16-15.  The Hawks then elected to go for a 2 point conversion, giving the ball to recently signed Tremaine Pope, who busted into the endzone with no time on the clock.Although the game did not count in the standings, it showed that Pete Carroll teams will always compete on every play and every game.

Vikings Miss Keeps Seahawks Super Bowl Hopes Alive

Was it the cold weather, was it over confidence, or are the Vikings better than everyone thought?  We may never know, but the Seahawks came with in a whisker hair of having their season go up in smoke.  A missed chip shot field goal by Viking Blair Walsh allowed the 'Hawks to escape with a 10-9 victory.  The Seahawks play Carolina next Sunday at 10am.

Sad End For The Season

The 2012-2013 play-off run for the Seattle Seahawks came to a heartbreaking end today as the Atlanta Falcons kicked a last second field goal to win. This was after the Seahawks overcame a 20 point 4th quarter deficit to lead for the first time in the game.  The final score was Atlanta 30 Seattle Seahawks 28.
