Issaquah Salmon Days A Hit

Cotton candy in the shape of cartoon animals was a popular booth at the 2019  rendition of Issaquah Salmon Days.  Warm and sunny weather and no Seahawk game, combined to help bring big crowds  out Sunday.
Since the outdoor festival takes place in the first week of October in the Eastside town, the weather outlook can vary year by year.

Front Street In Issaquah Before Salmon Days

Taken at 9:45, Sunday I was headed to the 5th district Democratic Booth at Issaquah Salmon Days, Front Street looked quiet and deserted in this shot, but within minutes, the streets would fill with thousands of people enjoying the area's last outdoor festival.  It was reported that a total over 150,000 people enjoyed the two day event, held annually in the first weekend of October.  It celebrates the return of the salmon to the local streams.

Issaquah Salmon Days

The last big outdoor festival of the year, Issaquah Salmon Days, takes place in  the first weekend of October.  It is a celebration of the return of salmon to the lakes, creeks, and hatchery of the town, just down the road from Maple Valley.  Businesses and organizations will have booths.  There will also be food, music, and everything that makes a festival fun.  You will find the celebration in Issaquah's central business district.

Salmon Days Caps Off Festival Season

Sunny skies and near 80 temperatures made the 2012  Issaquah Salmon Days seem like a summer festival instead of a fall one.  Thousands of people crowded the downtown streets for the annual gathering held during the first weekend of October.  Top picture, I'm posing next to an unlimited hydroplane at the Snoqualmie Casino booth.  Bottom picture is local Beatles tribute band Creme Tangerine, who played at noon at the Main Stage.

Issaquah Celebrates Salmon Days

Issaquah Salmon Days is the year's last outdoor festival, at least in the Greater Seattle Area.  I volunteered to work in the 5th District Democrats booth where state representative Marcie Maxwell (D-Renton) posed with me (bottom picture).  There where also the usual food (top picture), commercial, information boothes as well as entertainment. (middle picture).
Weather was good, sunny and warm for most of the day until the later hours when rain started to fall.

The 5th District Democrats will have a new look at Issaquah Salmon Days this year.  A new booth has arrived.  Chair Jim Baum had members help in the set up to "show that the booth does not appear with the wave of  a magic wand."

5th District Democrats Out At Salmon Days

The 5th District Democrats were at Issaquah Salmon Days last weekend and the response was incredible. Festival goers cleaned out every Obama button, bumper sticker and souvenir. Gregoire signs were in high demand also. The Republican (oh I'm sorry--GOP) was right across the way and they looked on jealously.
