16833: On The White House & White Advertising Agencies.

Former and Soon-To-Be-Current President Donald Trump defied Offensive Karma to beat Kamala Harris and win the US presidential election.

Trump’s victory mirrors Adland in a variety of ways, including:

• Culturally clueless Old White Guys regularly elevate to positions of power, even after demonstrating questionable abilities to lead. Displaying blatant racism, predatory sexism, wanton lawlessness, clinical narcissism, cruel bullying, and intentional indifference will not adversely affect Old White Guys’ advancement either.

• When Old White Guys assume top positions, their first move is to clean house, replacing able and proven people with suspect cronies, and swapping established processes with dysfunctional disruption.

• Iconic management expert Peter F. Drucker stated: “[A]lthough followers will forgive a leader much, they will never forgive a lack of integrity.” Like Old White Guys in Adland, Trump did not let an abysmal lack of integrity impede his ascent.

• Author and Anti-Racist Activist Ibram X. Kendi wrote: “From the Junior Black Americans of Achievement series onward, I had been taught that racist ideas cause racist policies. That ignorance and hate cause racist ideas. That the root problem of racism is ignorance and hate.

But that gets the chain of events exactly wrong. The root problem—from Prince Henry to President Trump—has always been the self-interest of racist power. Powerful economic, political, and cultural self-interest—the primitive accumulation of capital in the case of royal Portugal and subsequent slave traders—has been behind racist policies.”

Systemic racism is a powerful thang. ‘Nuff said.

• Women are underrepresented in leadership roles. Yet women of color are woefully underrepresented, despite holding qualifications far exceeding those of White male leaders. Indeed, women of color must satisfy unreasonable expectations and impossible standards—far above the expectations and standards applied to White male and White female peers—just to be considered for leadership. In short, if Harris had been a White man, or even a White woman, Trump would be preparing for scheduled sentencing associated with his criminal convictions—which he will now disintegrate via his president-elect privileges.

16827: Karma & Kamala Harris.

In 2011, MultiCultClassics introduced the concept of Offensive Karma.

Originally applied to the NBA Finals, Offensive Karma is defined by a team’s display of offensiveness in the form of words or actions rooted in bigotry, discrimination and ignorance—which then leads to the team’s ultimate demise in the championship tourney. The notion was later extended to championship competitions in the NFL and MLB, as well as a Popeyes promotion and White advertising agency Deutsch.

Now, it’s time to apply Offensive Karma to the US presidential election pitting former President Donald Trump against Vice President Kamala Harris.

Providing a detailed comparison between the candidates is unnecessary, as it’s no contest.

If Offensive Karma proves an accurate indicator, expect the inauguration of President Kamala Harris.

Please vote to confirm the appropriate outcome.

Hey, the previous post could inspire a special Adland subgroup within White Dudes for Harris—sponsored by Diet Madison Avenue.

Political endorsement from a reformed feminist…? Hey, depending on the outcome of his lawsuit, the guy might get hit by Kamala Harris’ proposed tax increase for rich people.

16551: BHM 2024—President Joe Biden & Vice President Kamala Harris.

The Hill spotlighted a BHM 2024 campaign for President Joe Biden & Vice President Kamala Harris, including radio and digital spots. The radio spots—Reflect and Remarkable—open by declaring, “Black history is American history.” The digital spot—Possibilities—hypes support for HBCUs.

Wow, what’s next—a Black inventors ad?

Biden, Harris celebrate Black History Month with ads touting promises kept

By Cheyanne M. Daniels

The Biden-Harris campaign is launching a series of radio, print and digital ads targeting Black voters in battleground states. The ads, according to the reelection campaign, will highlight promises President Biden kept to Black Americans over the last four years.

Two radio ads — “Reflect,” which runs for 30 seconds, and “Remarkable,” which is a minute long — will run Feb. 14-26 in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Detroit, Phoenix, Raleigh, N.C., and Charlotte, N.C.

The ads play up Black History Month themes by highlighting the history made when Vice President Harris became the first Black female vice president, when Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin became the first African American Pentagon chief, and when Ketanji Brown Jackson became the first Black female Supreme Court justice.

“Black history is American history,” the ads say. “Our sacrifices make this country stronger.”

“Remarkable” goes on to say that under Biden, the Black unemployment rate is the lowest it’s ever been and that more than $130 billion in student loan debt has been forgiven.

“President Biden and Vice President Harris are delivering on their promises to Black America by ushering in historically low Black unemployment as well as overseeing the fastest creation rate of Black-owned small businesses in decades,” Quentin Fulks, Biden-Harris principal deputy campaign director, said in a statement.

While print ads will run in Black newspapers across battleground states including Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Arizona beginning Feb. 19, the campaign will also air a 15-second digital ad “Possibilities” across streaming platforms during the 2024 NBA x HBCU Classic.

“Possibilities” will focus on the commitments the administration has made to historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), including a historic $7 billion investment for campuses, grants and debt relief.

When Biden was elected in 2020, he promised racial justice would be at the forefront of his administration’s agenda. On his first day in office, he signed an executive order to allocate funding to HBCUs and Indigenous tribes as well as new programs to help close racial disparities in job and housing opportunities.

But Democrats at large have failed to succeed in securing additional protections on voting rights and passing police reform, two issues of top concern for Black Americans.

These new ads now come at a time when Biden’s and Harris’s approval ratings are falling among Black voters.

Earlier this month, an AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll found that Biden’s approval rating among Black adults has fallen to 42 percent.

“We know there is more work to do,” Fulks said. “The fundamental choice in this election is between Joe Biden, who wakes up every day thinking about how he can make Americans’ lives better, and Donald Trump, who wakes up every day thinking about how he can make his life better — even if that comes at the expense of hardworking American people.”

15198: Just Another Manic Monday…

Imagine if President Donald Trump is correct in his bizarre contention that he won the election. For Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris, it would be like the La La Land creators mistakenly accepting the Best Picture Oscar in 2017 before having to concede to the Moonlight crew. Maybe Trump will recruit his pal Kanye West for support.
