"If absence makes the heart grow fonder, what does presence make?"



The cry "I'm not dead!" brings a certain Monty Python plague scene in mind, but I'm going with that line anyway.

December was tough, like a miniature purgatory. An endless maze of appointments, decisions, countless hours of apartment hunting (with great success), job hunting (with zero success), saying goodbyes to dear friends and old ghosts, and packing and packing for days while trying to get through all this with an infection in my lungs that still hasn't fully mended. 

Winter solstice and the holidays passed somewhere in between but I don't remember much, except that I felt like I was wrapped in cotton and surrounded by loved ones. Just what I needed when the waves of stress were washing over.

In the first steps of this new year we moved away from the wolf border, and I hope there'll be good adventures ahead. New year, new city, new possibilities! Most things are still unpacked and the apartment is a total mess, but I'm too happy to let the chaos get to me. I can already feel last year's sadness peeling off and the creativity flowing back, like oxygen or life blood. There's still a lot to do before I'm all settled in, so my hibernation might continue. I hope you are all well. ♥

    I hope you feel better soon, being sick blows, I struggled with pneumonia in my final year at Uni and it was disastrous! It's good to hear you're enjoying your new place and I hope you have many great opportunities awaiting you. :)

      I'm sure that the huge amount of stress triggered something in my lungs, but I'm all better now. It was hard to breath for about two months, I had to get asthma medications to recover. I even started thinking that I may have had a feverless pneumonia at some point (if that's even possible), the symptoms matched and all but they didn't take any blood samples due to the lack of fever. But no matter, it's all over now!

    Työllistyminen on hankalaa, vaikka kuinka väitettäisiin että vain laiskat paskat ovat työttöminä. Onnea työnmetsästykseen. :)

      Kiitoksia! :) Mä en käsitä sitä laiskuuden leimaa mikä työttömiin niin usein lyödään, työllistyminen kun ei todellakaan tunnu olevan aina omasta aktiivisuudesta kiinni. Itsekin kävisin enemmän kuin mielelläni töissä, ei vaan ole helppoa löytää sopivaa paikkaa ilman suhteita, välillä sitä on ylikoulutettu ja välillä ei ole tarpeeksi kokemusta. :/ Työnhaku käy mun mielestä ihan työstä, imee ainakin tehokkaasti energiaa muulta elämältä!

      Voi kiitos paljon! <3 Pöytä löytyi Valtteri-kirpparilta silloin kun se oli vielä toiminnassa, mutta samanlaisiin törmää varmasti hyvällä tuurilla kierrätyskeskuksissa ja nettikirppareilla. :) Petsasin tuon itse tummaksi, eli tuunaamalla saa superhelposti muokattua omantyyliseksi!

    Enpä muista nähneeni tässä blogissasi susta kuvaa pitkä hame päällä. Sopii loistavasti sulle! Tykkään pitää sellaisia itsekin lähinnä kesä aikaan. Just tuollaisia tyylikkäitä, pelkistettyjä mustan värisiä.
    Toivottavasti kaikki menee siellä hyvin, ainakin siltä vaikuttaisi. :) Muutokset on joskus todella tarpeen, vaikka ne tuntuvat massiivisilta ja pelottaviltakin joskus. Tai no, ainakin minusta. Nyt ne kyllä olisi tarpeen, vähän liian seisahtanut tilanne ollut tässä useamman kuukauden ajan, liittyy tuohon mitä mainitsitkin eli työn metsästämiseen. Sitä työtä kun on vähän tarjolla ja työllistyminen itsessään on hankalaa, kuten Hannabella tuossa aiemmin mainitsikin kommentissaan. Se on hyvä niiden ihmisten naukua "laiskoista työttömistä" joilla itsellään on työpaikka alla. Kaikki on nykyään korvattavissa, mikään ei ole varmaa. No mutta, tarkoitukseni ei ole lannistaa. Pääasia ettei jää tuleen makaamaan, missään asiassa. :)

      Ai, on mulla muistaakseni jokusen kerran ollut! Tai sitten mä oon unohtanut vaan postailla asut tänne, tykkään kyllä kovasti maksipituudesta.

      Muutokset on elintärkeitä, vaihdos on selkeästi tehnyt hyvää. Eniten itteeni harmittaa se että muuttoa olin tekemässä yli vuoden ennen kuin oikeesti tuli viimeinen pisara ja lopulta kaikki kävikin niin nopeasti! Seisahtunut elämä on kuluttavinta mitä tiedän, ja varmaan siksi viime vuosi olikin mulle niin lyijynraskas kun tuntui ettei mikään asia edennyt ja aika vaan valui pelottavaan tahtiin.
      Työmarkkinat tuntuu tosiaan tällä hetkellä lähes toivottomilta, mutta yritän kyllä sinnikkäästi ja toivoa menettämättä hakea erilaisia hommia, eiköhän joku juttu vielä nappaa! :) Onnea sullekin ihan hurjan paljon työn metsästykseen!
