Beaned
So yesterday, we were beaning at Coffee Bean.
Xy and I were the only punctual ones. After standing around for about half an hour, waiting for 1. someone in Coffee Bean to vacate a four-seater and 2. Fang to arrive, we finally began to bean.
But wait! One member was missing.
And she only arrived much later. In the meantime, the other beans ordered coffee (what else right.) and cheesecakes to fill the Bell-shaped void.
Bell decided she needed more than just talking to produce heat, and so she ordered loads of food and contributed a significant amount to paying Coffee Bean's rental for the month.
After lots of yakking, (and one loud shhh! from me when I was making a work-related call. Sorry about that, beans.) much of which was about dinner plans, they (I exclude myself because I was going to go home and have dinner) decided to forget about dinner and watch The Devil Wears Prada.
So we left the freezing Coffee Bean. Then, one fruitless attempt at trying to print photos (it was too costly) and one mad rush around the supermarket trying to find a certain kind of seaweed later, we went to buy tickets. And (mmm..) ben & jerry's and popcorn.
More walking around, and then it was time for the movie to start!
It was nice, if a bit anti-climax. And it added to my fear of the oncoming internship. I thought Meryl Streep assumed the role of Miranda Priestly very well. And Anne Hathaway was, as usual, comically brilliant. But I did think that the role was a bit too old for her. I don't know about you, but her transition from high school princess (from Princess Diaries) to..er..graduate with live-in boyfriend was a bit stark for me.
Ooh, and I loved Emily (the other assistant for Miranda)'s accent. Especially the way she said job (I dunno how to describe it; ask me in person if u're burning with curiosity)!
We couldn't bear to part (read: they couldn't bear to part with me ;P) so we stood outside Bread Talk, talking, for a while more before we did our customary hugs and buggered off home.
Whee! It was a wonderful outing. Looking forward to the next beaning session. =)
Oh no. I'm beginning to blog like Becks. Speaking of whom, her flood tags have been missing from my blog for QUITE a while! *scowls*
