Hello World.
Hmm. Yes, people, I am still very much alive. Sorry, I've been so caught up with projects and everything that I really have no time to update even when I am in my "blogging mood".
I'm wondering what I should update about, though.
Oh well. One can never go wrong with the ol' my-day approach. So here goes.
Sarah, JY and I helped out at an event today. It was a Meet the Media forum organised by the Media Development Authority. There was a talk by 4 panelists, including the ex-chairman of Mediaworks and a director from Mega Media called Jonathan Foo. We only managed to catch the speeches of the abovementioned 2 people 'cos we had to go get ready for our helping-out part after that. Their speeches were quite interesting. I do believe I've learnt quite a few things by listening to these two successful men.
So we went to the DMS, where we met Mr. Loh who briefed us on what we had to do. It was quit e simple. Just give the guests (which included secondary school students, members of the public, media students from the other polys and ITEs, and lecturers from other polys and ITEs) a tour of the DMS. A very short one, just 5 minutes. So we said "WELCOME TO THE DIGITAL MEDIA STUDIO!"enthusiastically, showed them in and brought them to the shooting floor to tell them more about our course, our specialist diploma and show off our equipment a bit, especially our new Sony High-Definition camera with tracks.
The moderator for the event was quite disorganised, and the groups arrived either one after the other or in between very long breaks. The talk stretched well over the time it was supposed to end, so the three of us plus Loh Loh had to stay back until 6 plus to finish being tour guides when we were originally supposed to end at 5 pm.
But all in all, it was a pretty interesting and fun experience, and we had nice chats with Loh Loh while waiting for the groups to arrive. =) And we had fun watching all those new videos that the specialist dip people and the yr 3s made for the Livewire competition too. Well done pals! Very intriguing.
I was starving after the whole event was over, having missed my lunch. JY and I wanted to go eat at Pepper Lunch, but I was too hard up (4 bucks!!! I hate it when payday is delayed.) and we ended up eating at a hawker centre in Clementi.
I guess I had an okay day.
Haha. Sorry for disappointing with such a boring update. Soon, I promise. Soon.
