Oh, my dear sweet children. There's just something about listening to my children work together (especially on a self-assigned project) that makes me smile.
I'm in my bedroom and hear a lot of clunking and intense chatter. I stop what I'm doing for a minute... it's quiet.... I start working again.
BAM! Followed by a lot of shouted directions.
I quickly walk out of my room and into the hall. The noise is coming from the bathroom. I look inside to see what's the matter and see Andrew and Amelia bent over all sorts of everything from Amelia's fishbowl - home to Stripes the goldfish.
Andrew's decided it's high time this fishy gets his house cleaned. He's got a rubber glove on and as I walk in I hear him say in a disgusted tone (oh mygosh.....I have to stop typing and laugh for a minute....the boy is so overprotective of animals....his tone of voice......hahaha!)
Okay - anyway, in a disgusted tone he says to no one in particular, "Can fish smell? ughhh! Nevermind. Who cares. AMELIA! (reprimanding) This fish has been living a HORRIBLE life!"
Oh dear. I can't stop laughing. Thankfully Andrew is here to save the day. I'm sure Stripes is going to appreciate the saving.
Note the blue duct tape playhouse Andrew fashioned for Stripes' bowl in an earlier rescue mission. Something I love about this kid is how non-stop he is. He's had a very full day already and now is willing to get in and clean this fishbowl and all it's parts (he just called out to Amelia that he needs a Q-tip to clean one of the trees) because it needs to be done.
Alright, I should go send them to bed. It's 9:30 after all, and school in the morning.

This was fun to read! Andrew is an awesome older brother and animal caregiver. I wonder what his future holds.
