FHE

This morning at breakfast Fay prayed that we could "have more Family Home Evenings." As much as I hate to admit it, we haven't been that consistent with our FHE's. Mitch and I had just talked about how we needed to be better so thank you Fay for helping us!

Tonight at FHE we were talking about Jesus' baptism. We had a lesson about John the Baptist a couple months ago so we asked her tonight if she remembered who John the baptist was. Her response, "He lived in the jungle and ate worms."

The Irony

We've put off buying a new camera these last few months in hopes that the old one would surface. Mom was so generous to give us her old camera but Mitch finally really needed one for a project at work and Mom's just wasn't quite what he needed so he broke down and bought one. Of course we found the old one the next morning!

So stay tuned for some new pictures!!

Fall update

Well, the temperatures finally fell from the blazing 100's. We're now back to the 70's aand 80's thankfully.

I have an overgrown plant overhanging the sidewalk to the driveway that I always trip on. I've always caught myself but if finally did me in a couple of days ago... an 8&1/2 month pregnant lady trying unsuccessfully to catch her fall - not pretty - nor are my bruises and scrapes. Kinda sad nobody was around to enjoy it.

I'm so exhausted I feel like I could fall asleep anytime anywhere but when the opportunity arises, I'm so excited I can't calm down to sleep - or I start stressing about all the things I should be doing instead.

We bought a minivan! ...which created a lovely fall in our savings account figures. It is wonderful but we've never had to deal with a dealership or financing a vehicle before. Stressful. I'll post a pic as soon as I get one...ha. It is a white 2007 le toyota sienna (only 23,000 miles!).

Only 19 days until Baby is due!

Summer Highlights

I guess its only been a month since I posted, but I'm still so behind. I haven't been motivated because I haven't had fun pictures to post. We have had a great summer though and I thought I would share some highlights and hopefully I'll be able to get some pictures from the other people our fun summer involved.

Highlights - in chronological order - as best I can remember...

1. Murray Metge family reunion for a week in Star Valley WY - everyone got to come except Mitch :(. It was wonderful to be together. We had a great time.

2. Ali, my 13-yr. old sister came back with us to SD after the reunion for 10 days. We stayed very busy going to Sea World, the Beaches and In n Out - to name a few. Kimball still says "Aunt Ali" all the time and Fay still thanks Heavenly Father in her prayers at night that she could come visit us.

3. Warner Family Reunion at San Juan Capistrano beach. Amazingly beautiful and fun. Can't complain about a week on the beach with an incredible family! We only had to drive an hour - bonus!!

4. Mom coming to stay the week with us. We loved playing with her. She is so helpful all the time. I couldn't believe how clean my house was and how relaxed I felt with her there, always helping and reassuring. She even helped me can peaches and pears - well, lets be honest - she pretty much canned them herself. I have the most amazing mother!

5. Sarah and Karl Jarvis family came to visit us the week after my Mom came (actually, we were all together for a couple of days before Mom left). Unfortunately we got a nasty heat wave for 2 weeks - the 2 that we had visitors of course. Luckily we had already planned some fun beach trips so it worked out well. We had lots of adventures and the kids had a blast.

6. I got to be in charge of the Primary Sacrament meeting Program which was last Sunday. It was stressful but a wonderful experience. The children did really well - I was very proud of them. I have been learning lots from my calling (primary councilor). The Primary President is amazing and I'm so grateful for her. I hope I get to do the program again next year.

7. Mitch is super busy with work but he is seeing a lot of successes and I'm so proud of him.

8. Fay and Kimball are growing fast and keep us very busy and entertained...i.e... Fay was coming out of the bathroom and started crying and making a fuss. When I asked her what was wrong she told me her pinky toe didn't come with her out the door. Luckily, it was still attached but we explained that its called "stubbing your toe."

9. Baby is due in only 5 weeks. We have been minivan shopping and are hopefully close to actually making a purchase.

10. Summer is over and the fun only continues without the summer crowds!

Obedience

My mom is coming to visit us tomorrow! We are so happy and excited she will get to stay with us for a whole weeak - what a treat! Plus, she'll probably bring a camera so that will be nice for the blog.

Fay loves to make up lyrics to songs and one of her latest, sung to the primary song that goes "When my, mother tells me, quickly I obey..." She sang "When I don't obey, my mother tells me mean things and then I obey soon."

Why does it have to be this way? I savor the moments of pure obedience without the "testing." I guess Heavenly Father thinks the same of his children, although, his "mean things" are probably handled better.

Lost Camera

I still haven't given up - I'm sure there are still some dark corners and unturned junk I have not yet searched. I'm so dissapointed though. I've missed some great moments - including Fay's birthday. Maybe we'll have to upgrade sooner than we thought. A new camera would be great but there are a few other things on the priority list and we don't want to add another costly item!

New Addition

We had our ultrasound today and our baby is healthy - everything is normal. And It's a GIRL!!! She's due Nov. 2. We're so excited and feel very blessed.

3yr.old vocabulary

This morning we were sitting around the table and Fay was trying unsuccessfully to get my attention while I was talking to Mitch. Finally she said, "Mom, don't be exsensitive."
"What does exsensitive mean", we asked her. "It means when people don't like each other." Hmmm... We think she meant insensitive - not bad Fay.

Sham Slam

Shamu Show

Hopefully some of you - in addition to the Jarvis' S(see you next week!) and the Milletts (our only out-of-town guests thus far) - will come visit us to take advantage of all these amazing sights and adventures right in our back yard!

Sea World

Shamu Show
Bay of Play
Tea Cups. Fay was DYING to go on a ride and this was the one we could all do together and the only requirement was that the child must be able to walk and sit in the seat. Yes, Kimball CAN walk. As of yesterday, he officially has been walking more than crawling. Just in time!
Sea Lions and Egret.
Sorry you have to look at me in this one - but Kimball loved the Shamu show too! He got just as much pleasure out of the seagulls flying by as Shamu. One Seagull nearly flew into us!

Dining Room

We'll post some before and after pictures so you can get a sense of the transformation of this room. Its getting closer - still not finished but making progress.

Can't sleep

So I guess I'll update my blog...

Kite Flying

We had a preschool lesson on the letter "K" and so kite flying was the activity. Although, we ran out of time and actually did it a few days later. Kettle corn eating was a close competitor on the fun chart.

Pirate Park

Every Wednesday morning we meet a group of friends at the "Pirate Park" - its unofficial name due to the theme of the toys. The kids love it and there is a very nice water feature when it is hot out.

I need to crop this one - Kimball was being so silly, peeking out of the tunnel and yelling like he was trapped.
Big sister duties

Friends Isabelle and Luke.

The Mural

Its coming along beautifully, don't you think? Mitch thinks they'll be able to finish this week hurray!! I'll post more pictures of the finished work.

I think this treatment of the rocks is masterful - some of Mitch's very best. I wish you could see the real thing. It is so simple but has so much depth.

White Coral Bells

I must dedicate this song to the Helms - my wonderful cousins - who taught me this song that I thought was the most beautiful in the whole world growing up. It is a round but we're not quite there yet.

The Little Mermaid obsession continutes...

Sorry, this one's a little long...

Fay discovered we were recording...

Ball Lover

Of course, we think he's pretty amazing - especially considering he has mastered ball catching before walking!

kimball

This boy loves to swing! Who doesn't?

Strawberry casualties.
"Finally, I'm allowed to splash at will!" We broke out the splash pool since its been pretty warm.

The Mural

Mitch is renovating the Dining room in his building. Here is a sneak preview.

It's going to be beautiful when its all finished - and hopefully we'll have our Daddy/hubby around a little more!

Fay's latest love

The Little Mermaid

We recently checked out "The Little Mermaid" sound track from the library. Fay fell in love with the music and kept asking us all about who was singing and what was happening.
She was in love with the little mermaid before she even saw the movie. We held off with the movie which worked to our advantage because one night earlier this week, Fay was burning with Fever but she absolutely refused to take any tylenol. Finally with ice cream and the little mermaid we got her to take some medicine which helped bring her fever down so she could sleep.

Fay's Friends

Fay has the best friend ever - Luke Beers. Fay was pretty sick last week and as soon as Luke found out he was at our door with suckers and the sweetest "Get Better Fay" original song (song writer Laura Beers, I believe).
Luke lent her his "Little Mermaid DVD" so we could use it to bribe her to take her medicine.
Could there be a better friend? He's learning from his mother. Go Laura!
They even remembered Kimball
We do a little homeschool preschool with the Beers and another friend Parker. Parker's Mom, Jessica, reading.
