So here goes my new year's resolution:
1. Club less.
2. Gym at least twice a week.
3. Sleep at least 6h a day.
4. Go to places (within HK and world, and dive).
5. Be a good friend to my good friends.
6. Be a good daughter and sister.

new year.
In half a year I shall be turning 25, which is the age everyone says "everything starts going downhill from there". I have started my eyecare and moisturising regime. I have also begun to eat healthier - by drinking less and eating salads for lunch more regularly.
The past year had been mixed, and sort of a roller coaster for me. Getting out there to work (sometimes long hours) and earn money had been great. I missed the times I had the flexible hours in school, but I never felt so financial empowered. I started out in ALM, and though I learnt a great deal about derivatives and structuring, deal flow was slow. I was hijacked to work in Corporate Finance, had 2 live deal experiences, before moving to FIDCM. FIDCM then got absorbed into FIG, and FIDCM boss got fired. So now I'm working for new FIG big boss, who fortunately likes me. The team is also great thus far. I sometimes wonder why my first year working is so eventful, and sometimes wish life could be smoother.

Working in Hong Kong is just like fulfilling my travelling dreams without compromising on reality, though I didn't get to go to Beijing, Shanghai and Taiwan like I hoped. At least I managed to go to Tibet and dive in Philippines! There are many more places I need to explore in Hong Kong and the region too. Returning to Singapore after more than half a year for CNY reminded me why I should stay in Hong Kong. People often assume it's the freedom, and I used to say no, it's just more exciting. I now agree that it's the freedom, from obligations, emotional familial responsibilities and burdens. Everything seems to be much more efficient in Hong Kong, especially the transport system. I suddenly remembered how long travelling times were on public transport in Singapore, despite it being such a small country. But I will definitely miss the food - fried Hokkien mee, bak chor mee, fried carrot cake, mum's rendang, sayur lodeh and nasi lemak.
