恭喜发财

This CNY welcomes the year of the pig. Every year 除夕is spent having steamboat at home, with my fav fuzhou fishballs, meatballs, mushrooms, abalone and fish maw. This year is slightly different - I had my reunion dinner with my extended paternal family. We were told to accompany our ah ma who's getting old and feeling lonely on 除夕.
初一, as usual, is spent at ah ma's house stoning the whole day. If not for my cousins entertaining me with super-funny riddles and jokes, I would've died watching the crappy austin power's show. Angpaos are reducing in quantity by the year because pple dun show up on 初一. Either they are occupied with their own big families (grandkids, in-laws and all), or they are avoiding each other, or they are avoiding unmarried kids like us. Well, the problems with big families. How big? My dad has 13 other siblings, 3 of whom passed away. I have about 18 cousins and about 6 nephews and nieces on the paternal side. This is excluding step-cousins or cousins from divorced families, ie unknown ones. Small families are much less complicated, though harmony is not guaranteed. People must start realising that holding grudges over your family members is not the way to go. You lose more than you gain.
Missed the 29th gathering on 初三. Miss them a lot. It was the first time I wore a dress; coming of age sort of thing. Not exactly my dream dress since I got it in a rush, but kinda like the design. And boy was it girly! White with pink floral prints on it.
anw I just had an interview at Deloitte for Transactions Services. Sounds quite interesting. looks like I'm not in for an off-peak period as it's peak throughout the year in FAS. But the lady will only inform me of the interview results by the end of the week (which is fast, cuz I'm scheduled for a pwc interview on mon. the sch requires us to accept the first offer). I will not be picky. After all both are pretty good choices, tho I'm kinda swayed by the fact that pwc is the employer of choice for like how many years. See how it goes.
Feb was a crazy month handling so much stuff. VOLAR! is facing so much bottlenecks from the authorities, 2 tests and 2 presentations last week, projects stepping up pace, and so many more coming up. But wad is satisfying is how much you get in doing all these. Had fun with my MPW presentation and got wonderful grade for that! Gonna go for a night cycling trip tmr nite, diving trip at Dayang next weekend.
Need to announce my resolutions or I won't be pressurised to fulfil them:
1. Be more sensitive to pple around me.
2. Lose my flabs.
3. Do better in my studies.
4. Do an excellent job as a crewie.
5. Lead a fulfilling and meaningful life.
