Unique - Tomorrow's Memories

Hi everyone!  Today I'm sharing a layout I created for Tomorrow's Memories using some new papers from Authentique called "Spirited".  I don't often create Halloween themed pages... but these papers are just fabulous and were perfect for this unscrapped pic of me from last year's "Nightmare Before Christmas" themed crop at Tomorrow's!

I've used some tulle to create a ruffle behind some of the paper layers, it softens the stark contrast of the spots against the lace patterned paper.  Once the paper layers were in place I've added all my flower clusters and some charms.  Some charms were silver, others brass... so to tie them all together everything got a lick of gesso, just using a dry brush technique.

Afterwards, to grunge up the white gesso I dabbed it with some Prima Color Bloom in Storm Cloud and Precious Stone.

Authentique Spirited Patterned Paper, Gesso, Prima Color Bloom Sprays, Tulle, Charms and Flowers are all available instore at Tomorrow's Memories!!  Why not follow them on Facebook to keep up to date with all their offers, newsletter links and special tidbits that happen from time to time!

One Perfect Photo - Green Tara

I have another layout to share today using one of my not so perfect photos!  Another of when my lovely friend Michelle came to visit.  This tragic self portrait was taken at night, using the front camera on the phone so it's as low res as you can get and I LOVE it to bits... because of the fun and smiles we shared together!

I've chose soft papers in gorgeous peach tones to try and accentuate the photo as much as I could... and naturally Green Tara had the perfect colours just waiting to be used!

I love the cute and funky little Sakura Fabric Flower...

and of course the delicate and whimsical Heirloom...

I've tucked in some of the lovely new velvet leaves and some roses... so sweet!

Thanks for visiting, take care and be true to you.

Today - Green Tara

Hi lovelies... I have been having the best fun using Green Tara's new fabric flowers.  The quality is seriously second to none, if you haven't got your hands on some yet get a wiggle on... you will not be disappointed!!

At first I thought my favourite were the Damask ones, but then I opened the others... and well they are ALL my favourites!

I have kept the layout nice and simple to show them off today... this is my lovely friend Michelle, unfortunatley just quick phone pics, but such wonderful memories that had to be scrapped!

the gorgeous new Damask and Tutu, with a little paper rose tucked in...

sweet white paper roses, with a snippet of lace...

and another close up of the Damask... faultless beauty...

Sister - Dusty Attic

Lately I have been scrapping away, and getting my layout about 75% done... and then wandered off to start another, I'm not sure why I've not been able to stay on task, it's most certainly not like me!  Usually it feels all kind of wrong to start another layout before I've finished the one I'm working on.

Anyway, this week I have finished them all... I am satisfied, and even though it was odd for me to have 5 {yes 5} layouts on the go at once, I loved it!  I have really enjoyed the different creative process, some of them have taken me 3 days just to get to the 75%, but not from procrastinating... just from enjoying adding a bit and then going off to do something else {usually watch TV with the boys}... so I am feeling fulfilled!

Here is one of them... my sister, beautiful creature that she is.  This pic is a year old, I really need to get a new one of her.   She's going through one of the hardest things anyone has to go through right now, but she's holding up, she's strong... and we're all there for her.  I just wanted to scrap this happy moment again, eyes glazed with happiness after a shopping spree... I hope to see that happiness again one day.  Love this girl with all my heart...

I have used the cute new Dusty Attic Birdcage, Mini Heart Buttons and Bookman ABC Set.   How CUTE are those heart buttons.  Hearts aren't really my thing, but these are super cute!  I've also scattered some new Dusty in Bloom flowers and leaves everywhere... they are beautiful and worked so well with these soft papers!

I used one of my sketches for this one - Sketch 16 - the sketch felt so busy and full of layers, but the layout turned out so gentle and soft, love how that happens!

This is my space... snippets of where I create.  It's a work in progress, I am continually adding and changing, moving to different rooms and back again, but I think I have it all just about perfect now {well it will be once my hubby installs my wall mounted Clip It Up's}!

And some closeups of Dusty goodies!

The new Scroll #8 and a snippet of one of the Nameplate #5.

The Scroll #8 was painted with white paint and then inked with Chiffon and Peridot Mix'd Media Ink, sprayed with Smooch Spritz and then Embossed.

The Nameplate was painted white and then coated with Fairy Dusty Glitter using some Allison Ellis Hot Set Glue as the adhesive.

The newest products to Dusty Attic... Dusty in Bloom!  Yep... Dusty are stocking their very own flowers, stunning aren't they!  They'll be available for order for retailers very soon.

And some more snippets:

I was inspired to cut up and tuck in the nameplates by one of Belinda Spencer's layouts... such a cute idea!!

Sugar

Yeah I know... the cat again!  But she's so sweet, and is part of our family... and lets me take photos LOL!

I created my own flowers again, these using my English Rose technique but using the Rose Creations Die... they are so so pretty!  I am loving having my flowers match the papers I use perfectly!  The smaller flowers have used less paper layers, and I have mixed patterned papers and cardstock for these ones.

The Dusty Attic Baroque Frame was just perfect for this, it was painted with a cream coloured paint and then spritz with smooch spritz, glittered here and there and then covered with crackle accents.

A sweet butterfly, some Green Tara flowers and little resin flowers from Handmade Halo finishes it all off just right!

Kel [Courage]

Just a quick little share, I was in the mood for a boy style LO and have used a Pagemaps Sketch here for some fun!  This is just an iPhone shot of Kel playing on his iPod... this would have been the best present we have ever bought for him, his favourite use for it is to listen to podcasts while doing the dishes!  Although this wasn't about his iPod... it's about how he always just does his own thing, goes against the crowd and has his own mind, hope he holds that always.

Shhhh... don't tell him, but I snuck a handmade flower onto the LO!  My excuse is it works... it's denim and the stripes match his shirt!

The little owl is there because that's his 'thing' right now, he's into everything owls and has a nice collection in his room.  I picked up that charm from Tomorrow's Memories, they've always got sweet little trinkets here and there!

The leaf charm and pebble were from Handmade Halo, my online stop off for all my trinkety bits!!

Dusty Attic Grass Border... again, yes!  I am really in love with this piece.  I've treated this one really simply, just some SmoochSpritz in Woodstain and Olive Vine, then crackle accents over the top.

CSI - Case Study #4

Week 4 of the CSI Challenges, and the last for us Dusty Girls as sponsors... but it won't be the last for me, I loved playing along and will continue to challenge myself with them!

This weeks palette was ME, love love love these colours!

Here is my layout... our little kitty cat again!

The lovely Dusty Attic Vine Swirl was just the piece for this LO, long and elegant!  I've painted this one with a creamy toned paint and then sprayed them with Smooch Spritz and dried them off, once dried it was touched with crackle accents.  The crackle seals the colours in, and if spread very thinly dries with the finest little cracks, love it!!

Pretty flowers... I don't have very many Prima ones left anymore {because I have the most wonderful selection of Green Tara ones, so I'm a bit spoiled flower wise}, but I love that I had just the perfect colour in my stash!

Do you like those Calla Lillies from Green Tara, aren't they sweet!?  It's refreshing to have something a bit different and the shape was just what i needed for this little cluster.

Mmmm I haven't used German Scrap for ages, I found this piece below when I had my big clean out, such a gorgeous shape!
