Ah Yat Seafood Restaurant (19th Dec 2008)
A flickr fren from Chicago came back to Singapore.... yippeee more new frens to meet :)
so after going for a rather horrible buffet... we tot crabs would be next on the menu... so we went searching for crabs at YCK but was told they would only served at 5 pm....so we ended up having it at Ah yat instead.... :)
we started with some dim sum
Scallop with yam paste
the scallop bits were small to the extent I did not detect its existence... taste more like a meat fillings than anything.
Har Gow (Steamed prawn dumpling)
Cereal Prawns
This was slightly salty. Maybe less salt would make this dish perfect, cause the prawns were quite fresh.
Matrimony Vine with Assorted Egg
one of my favorite vegetable dish... along with some good stock... and several types of eggs *yummy*
Stir-Fried crabs with salted egg yolk
I definitely like this alot :) pity we don't have some buns to wipe the plate clean :D
This is definitely a good place to come for fresh seafood. But fresh seafood, without good cooking skills can be a quite a difficult choice to make. That's one reason why this is only the backup when i do want to have seafoood.

House of Seafood (1st Nov 2008)
We decided that crabs would make a great dinner for us... so I decided to drop by House of seafood before it gets really popular, once it's featured in one of the tv program :D Get my craving handled before everyone starts swarming there too... :p
Free nuts!!! :D I like the yellow crackers... hehe so u saw that they are low on numbers there...

Fried dou miao with garlic - I like these pea shoots with garlic... just fried with lots and lots of garlic... though I wish it was cooked for maybe another 10 mins?
Fried kang kong with sambal - I like this... but then it's so common ...so no biggie...
Steamed fish hong kong style woooo this was really good... the fish was fresh... and the sauce is lightly salty and yet has a light sweet taste to it... *yummy*
Cereal prawn - i looooooooooooooove this dish... i like the crispy thingie.. and the curry leavess.. :P yummy yummy ... now I am hungry....
Butter Crab - this is a MUST try dish... we were told there is a 45 mins wait... well doesn't matter, we can!! For this we can. It was not as good as I had remembered... but it's still okay.
Black pepper crab... no commentS? oh yeah... I like the roe.. or sperm sac :P fantastic!!! :p
It is definitely a nice place to go.. if u are into butter crabs :P a nice place to have a rowy crowd of friends to enjoy seafood there.... the price of crabs are slightly on the high side... so remember to allocate some extra money for it...

Frist Grade Seafood Palace (Still Road Crab) (Sept 26 2008)
Went to try the famous Still road Pepper crabs... and i think it was quite good... but for me to like a pepper crab dish... it's definitely a lacking of something. Cause i am a person who don't like pepper...
Some would swear by it, and some would swear at it. Usually the food is important... but secondary to the company one has.
Here's some photos :D enjoy!
we got hungry waiting for another fren to come... so here's some hokkien noodles to start
follows by some hei chor
and finally the arrival of fren and the best thing was offered " Black Pepper Crabs!!! "
Alot of people came and ate at this stall... I had heard raves of this place for the longest time.... like most people would say "don't dis it till u try it" Give it a try, and see if u are the swearing "by" or "at" person :D
