This place has one of the longer history of serving Cantonese or Hong Kong dessert in Singapore. A Long Long time ago, I remembered going for steamboat and coming here for dessert afterwards... it started from a one man show to this about 10 other chinese nationalities staff. Maybe I am rather old fashioned and prefer the idea that my desserts are being prepared by a person who want to do a good job than a group of people doing it as a job. I realized that the standard had dropped quite a bit and oso no longer as good as before. I am looking for better dessert places now. :)

Peaberry & Pretzel (10th Jan 2009)
A simple place...
I like simple places.. esp when I can relax and just don't think too much.
I esp like the seat facing the desserts... *bliss*
Passionfruit italian soda
it was a hot day... I desperately need some sugar to boost my sugar level... and tot this hit the spot quite fast and well! :p
Bread and butter
okie.... I like bread, warm bread... I like butter... but i absolutely hate cream like stuffs...
take that away already and give me some BUTTER!!!!
I think this soup is quite good. I like having alot of bits and pieces of fibres in my mushroom soup. And with it served hot... and slightly cooler after I finished shooting. Just nice.
Mushroom cream sauce pasta
I like mushrooms, usually I will have that when I am having vegetarian food. Maybe the weather was too hot, I wasn't able to enjoy this pasta dish that day. So i decided to doggie bag the pasta home.
Strawberry cheesecake
I didn't like it, cause the strawberry sauce was not sweet enough to give the rest of the cheesecake any taste.

I do not think that I had given this restaurant a good opporunity to show off their products. Maybe I should head there another day to retry some of their products.
After going home, I took the mushroom pasta out and had it for dinner. I thought it was reasonable. Not the best, I would say it's the normal food court express pasta thingie.

Laurent Bernard chocolatier (28th Nov 2008)
an extension of a wonderful lunch... I always enjoy my time with my mentor :)
The chocolate Tarte
Strawberry Melba
This was quite good...
Pistachio Macaron
I didn't like this.
Nice place to be :) Esp when the boss is not around, and the service staffs do not care about the customers... I can shoot as much as I want... :D

Gobi at Cental Mall (22nd Nov 2008)
I think having little macarons seemed so interesting... but we end up buying the bigger ones... My fren, who came back from a long trip... and who just left for another long trip... got extra for me... cause she knew that I loooooooooooooooove macarons :D
These are the flavours they have in their store...
Rose - Aromatic rose Macarons
Chai Charm - Soothing Marsala Chai
Morgan Blend - Lapsang Soucheng tea blended with bergamor oil and dark chocolate
Chamomile Dream - Natural Chamomile
Matcha - Green Tea
Claming Floral - White Flower
Black Sheep - Malibu and dark chocolate

I do not know what made this place so exclusive... I don't think it's a special place... give me a sense of cheapo atas... and their macarons can't make it in terms of taste... though it's rather pretty. Can be bought for display but not for impressing picky eaters.
Zhen Zie Dessert Ah Balling (17th Nov 2008)
One of the most generous portion of ingredients given in any dessert place i been to.
I love this stall for their desserts and Mango pomelo is one of my favorite.
This dessert is nothing without the pomelo bits in it... the thing with Pomelo is... they tend to be bitter sour, if they are not plucked properly and it happened in this case...

Emicakes @ Teck Chye (5th Nov 2008)
After learning that the thai restaurant did not have any dessert, I went and got some desserts from a few doors down.... Considering this is a rather popular... not that I understand why was it popular among some ppl I know.... it is definitely a "can be MUCH better" place.
I had Ultimate Brownie Delight all to myself :P
Hey I love chocolate and I ain't sharing... plus my lunch partners did say they do not want any... :P so it's all mine!!!

but I share my D24 Crepe... I don't think this is good at all... I had better ones... the durian paste seemed more like flour with durian flavouring than real durians....
I don't think this is a shop i would go quite often... but I had something from them (from a previous occasion) which I am semi satisfied... though not totally AND I paid thru my nose for it!!!

Ah Chew Dessert (1st Nov 2008)
This used to be a decent dessert place... but I think it had changed quite a bit... maybe I would bring my picky self to another store...
Pulot hitam with ice cream - this tasted okay... but I found it slightly grainy... I had smoother pulot hitam before... and ice cream do make a good combination...

Water Chestnut with egg - they used to cube the chestnut... now they sliced it thinly instead... there are more water than chestnuts.... and egg? the hen must had forgot to lay it.. cause I don't detect it's existence there...
Mango sago & pomelo - there are good ones and there are bad ones... and this fall in between. It's rather hard to accept this... as I know they can do better...
Glass Jelly with lychee - i didn't try this.. but I doubt anyone could screw up on this.
Pot for Rock sugar white fungus with papaya -
isn't this a cute little thingie to put stuff in...

I didn't try this either... my fren seemed to like it... so i guess it should be okay. maybe...

Ah Chew used to be THE place to go... but then I realized ... when one gets too popular.... but I doubt I would want to go there anymore... Fame made them too good for little me.
